Chapter 3827: Total Erasure

Chapter 3827: Total Erasure

Ying Mei coughed up blood as her eyes flicked over to Lu Yin. The world she saw was blurry and held a red tint. “The victor... is king. The Autumnspring Slip met its end by your hand. However, one day... you will also face retribution.”

Lu Yin looked at her. “In all that I do, I prioritize staying true to my heart. Even if I’m wrong, I will have no regrets.”

Ying Mei barked a bitter laugh. “It’s karma... karma...”

Her eyes then suddenly bulged as she stared at Lu Yin. “Karma- You, you...?”

Lu Yin simply imprisoned the woman in his Champions' Stage Purgatory. He knew what she had realized.

Qian Shu’s ability to cross dimensions had been regarded as impossible to overcome, and yet Lu Yin had broken it. Why? Because of karma. He had used the power of karma to make Qian Shu believe that his body was in the current universe while he was fighting in another one. That had completely inverted the ability, which had allowed Lu Yin to grab the man.

Ying Mei had guessed the truth. It was known that Lu Yin had emerged from the Sea of Karma and was also from a foreign megaverse. Even so, he had remained unharmed, and he had even become acquainted with the Seven Fairies.

The old woman had discovered the truth: Lu Yin had comprehended karma, and he was the second person in human history to have done so.

Throughout the three megaverses and the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, only Greater Sancte Green Lotus had ever managed to comprehend karma. To someone like a Greater Sancte, a person’s origins did not matter. The fact that Lu Yin was human was already sufficient.

Ying Mei had seen the truth, and at that moment, she also regretted everything. If she had seen the truth sooner, she would never have fought Lu Yin to the death. The power of karma defied all imagination. Even if the Autumnspring Slip had managed to be victorious, how could they kill someone who had comprehended karma when the threat of the Sea of Karma loomed over them? Ying Mei would never be able to kill such a person.

As soon as Ying Mei realized the situation, she also understood that the Autumnspring Slip had been destroyed for nothing. They had been doomed from the very start.

Ying Mei entered the Champions' Stage Purgatory, and Lu Yin stepped over to the bloodstained bamboo slip, the mirebound artifact that was also the Autumnspring Slip.

He picked it up and casually wiped it clean, removing the blood. He released a sigh when he saw that it was still intact. That meant that it was still usable.

He turned his gaze to the side. On the bamboo slip itself was a detailed landscape painting, the true seat of the Autumnspring Slip’s power.

With a casual flick of his hand, Lu Yin carved through the painted mountain range, which caused the earth beneath it to tear open, revealing the hidden Autumnspring Slip disciples, as well as Master Yi Bai and the nine Ortusers.

Lu Yin had destroyed countless members of the Autumnspring Slip, some of whom had fought with their true bodies, and others who had only been spirit seeds. All of the survivors had gathered in this one place.

All of them stared at Lu Yin in absolute terror.

Lu Yin moved over and imprisoned them all in his Champions' Stage Purgatory. He needed to strengthen his Karmic Dao.

Qing Yun stepped forward. “Every life deserves respect. If you don’t intend to kill them, then please release them.”

Lu Yin locked eyes with Qing Yun. “If I offered you no face for your status, would you be offended?”

Qing Yun shook her head. “No.”

Lu Yin smiled and released the disciples. “These ones don’t matter, but there are a few others who have to die.”

The disciples who had been spared stood frozen in place, dazed and confused by the fact that they had just escaped death.

The old man from the Luo family sternly ordered, “Kneel and thank him for sparing your lives! Swear that you will never seek revenge.”

The Autumnspring Slip disciples instantly felt bitter. Seek revenge? That required sufficient strength. Their sect’s mirebound artifact had been taken, which meant that their cultivation was now worthless. Many had suffered having their soul seeds being destroyed, and others would never be able to cultivate ever again.

All of the disciples knelt down and kowtowed to Lu Yin while swearing to never pursue revenge.

Lu Yin glanced over at the old man. It was clear that he was sucking up to Lu Yin, likely because of both the fact that Luo Ning was Lu Yin’s captive, as well as the fate that the Autumnspring Slip had just suffered.

While the Skyward Gate’s Luo family sounded impressive, they were truly nothing more than gatekeepers. They were only equal to, or possibly weaker than, the Autumnspring Slip. If not, Qian Shu would have never dared to brazenly attempt to kill Luo Ning at the Skyward Gate. The Luo family had failed to stop him.

Ever since Lu Yin’s Karmic Dao had evolved, the speed at which his power of karma could be strengthened by his Champions' Stage Purgatory had increased drastically. By the time the disciples of the Autumnspring Slip were released, Lu Yin had already absorbed the nine Ortusers’ karma.

Lu Yin tossed those nine out as well. There was no point in keeping them in the Champions' Stage Purgatory. They had already lost all their cultivation and power.

The nine people had once been considered the Autumnspring Slip’s powerhouses, and they had been treated with respect no matter where they had gone.

The patriarch of the Linlushan family looked at one of the former powerhouses. That man had once visited the patriarch’s family and acted like an untouchable master. At this moment, he was sprawled across on the ground like a dead dog.

None of the people had endured the torture of experiencing karmic cycles in the Champions' Stage Purgatory. Instead, their karma had simply been taken from them, which had significantly improved Lu Yin’s Karmic Dao.

While the Ortusers’ spirit seeds had been destroyed, crippling their cultivation, their karma was not tied to their externally cultivated spirit seeds, but rather to their very beings.

As they looked out at the blood-soaked Ridgeplain, the shattered ground, and the bamboo slip in Lu Yin’s hand, all nine men completely collapsed. Despair could be seen on some of their faces, while others started cursing venomously.

Lu Yin casually executed all nine. Mercy, like hatred, was something that he could pick up or cast aside at will.

Once a person’s perspective was no longer limited, their thinking would also change.

After that, Lu Yin released another person: Master Yi Bai.

Of the three Dukkhans who had fought against Lu Yin, Mr. Mo and the head archivist had fought with their true bodies. Only Master Yi Bai had used his projected spirit seed.

Just as Lu Yin was about to kill the man, Ming Xiaolong called out, “Please, show mercy.”

Lu Yin looked over, and the woman explained, “He is a good man.”

Lu Yin arched a brow.

Qing Yun interjected, “Master Yi Bai is upright and honorable. He’s highly respected.”

Master Yi Bai shook his head, a bitter expression on his face. “Thank you both for speaking on my behalf, but with the Autumnspring Slip destroyed and my cultivation lost, living would only bring me more pain.”

He then turned to Lu Yin and slowly bowed. “You destroyed the Autumnspring Slip because of our opposing positions as well as hatred. I fought against you because we are on opposite sides.

“While hatred can be erased, standing on opposite sides of a conflict cannot. Please allow me to complete this.”

“Sir?” One of the surviving Autumnspring Slip disciples could not bear to stay silent.

Many of the spectators present looked at Master Yi Bai differently from the rest of the members of the Autumnspring Slip.

Lu Yin just shrugged. “Go on. Leave on your own.”

Master Yi Bai looked at Lu Yin. “Please allow me to accompany the Autumnspring Slip on its final journey.”

Lu Yin frowned. “If you want to die, then do it yourself. I have no reason to grant you any wish.”

“Brother!” Ming Xiaolong suddenly cried out.

Lu Yin followed her gaze and saw a thin man in the distance. He looked around in a daze, confusion written all over his face.

Only after Ming Xiaolong shouted at him did the man return to his senses. “Xiaolong? What... what happened here?”

Ming Xiaolong beamed. “The Autumnspring Slip has been destroyed.”

The man’s mouth dropped open as he stared at Ming Xiaolong. She pulled him aside and started explaining everything that had happened.

The Autumnspring Slip’s destruction naturally meant that Ming Xiaochou was free.

Neither Lu Siyu nor Ming Xiaolong had imagined that Lu Yin would fulfill the request so brutishly. He had simply destroyed the entire sect. The destruction could also not be connected to the Everchange Valley at all. This was more than ruthless.

Finally, Lu Yin released Ying Mei.

The old woman had contributed the most karma to Lu Yin’s Karmic Dao. She had lived a very long life and experienced a great deal.

Across Ridgeplain, everyone could see Ying Mei’s miserable condition, and their faces grew pale once more.

The sky overhead was still stained red. Ridgeplain’s sky had been altered.

Ying Mei lay on the ground, her eyes flickering after she had experienced something unimaginable. She had witnessed her own past, every bit of it. She had seen the innumerable souls which had died to the Autumnspring Slip. Those people had died long ago, and yet they had still returned to haunt her. How dare they? They all need to die again! The Autumnspring Slip will destroy them a second time!

“Kill... Kill them all! How dare they return... Kill them all again...”

Everyone fell silent.

Ying Mei’s insane calls for slaughter rang across Ridgeplain.

Master Yi Bai let out a mournful cry, “Sect Master!”

A tremor ran through Ying Mei, and she slowly turned her head to see Master Yi Bai, but the woman’s eyes were still empty.

Master Yi Bai stared at Ying Mei. “Are you still not conscious?”

Her eyes flickered and slowly regained a bit of focus. Her forehead and hair were both stained red. She slowly looked around at the people who surrounded her, and then finally looked up at Lu Yin. She raised a hand and pointed at him. “You com-”

Bang.

A soft sound announced Ying Mei’s final departure. There was only a slight warping of the void where she lay, and then... nothing at all. All traces of the woman’s existence had been erased from the world.

Master Yi Bai was overwhelmed with sorrow.

Lu Yin looked away. Ying Mei’s death heralded the end of his visit to Ridgeplain.

At this moment, Qian Shu alone remained in the Champions' Stage Purgatory.

That man was still extremely valuable, and simply killing him would be a waste.

The crowd remained standing where they were, frightened as they stared at Lu Yin. Even so, they were curious about what Ying Mei had wanted to say before being silenced. Lu Yin’s strength defied everything that they understood to be possible. Even the Lesser Sancti might not be his match. No one could see the depths of Lu Yin’s power.

Those who had previously wanted to get closer to the Autumnspring Slip left with their heads bowed.

Lang Ruyu dragged Si Jiushi away as well. Lu Yin was too intimidating. Even if it was true that he had pinned the blame onto the Five-Palms Sect, they could do nothing about it.

Seek justice? That was impossible. It would be better if their paths never crossed again.

Shui Su stood frozen in place as she stared blankly at the distant Lu Yin. He- he actually destroyed the Autumnspring Slip. Who is he, really? He’s too terrifying.

As the crowd dispersed, the Autumnspring Slip’s destruction at Lu Yin’s hand quickly spread across the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse, along with Lu Yin’s name and appearance.

This was a man who could not be offended. It did not matter if he was from the Spirit Nidus or some other megaverse, nor did it matter what he might be trying to do. He absolutely could not be crossed.

He had emerged from the Sea of Karma, interfered in the contest to determine the Four Commands Grand Swordmaster, and then annihilated the Autumnspring Slip. Nothing that he had done could be understood by ordinary logic. Even the way that Qing Yun treated him highlighted his importance, as did his connection to the Seven Fairies.

The name “Lu Yin” spread across the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, and it carried a much greater impact than news of the new Four Commands Grand Swordmaster.

Lu Yin had no intention of hiding his identity. Unless a Greater Sancte personally stepped forward, he could be considered invincible in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse.

After all, he had not even bothered to use any Immortal matter while destroying the Autumnspring Slip.

Yue Ya, if you are back in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, you will have to come find me. I’ll be waiting.

Peace returned to Ridgeplain.

Lu Yin toyed with the Autumnspring Slip, casually spinning the bamboo slip in his hand. Interesting.

Lu Siyu ran over to him, her eyes bright as she stared at the bamboo slip. “So that’s the Autumnspring Slip? Can I touch it?”

Lu Yin glanced sideways at her. “Why should I let you?”

Lu Siyu begged with a flattering tone, “Let me touch it, please? We’re friends, aren’t we?”

“Haven’t you been calling me a ‘little thief?’”

“Of course not! How could you be a little thief?” Lu Siyu instantly denied the accusation, though she was inwardly screaming, You’re a master thief!

Lu Yin tossed the mirebound artifact over with a careless expression.

Lu Siyu happily caught it. “Fourth Sister, come quick! It’s the Autumnspring Slip! The real thing!”

Many people stared at the bamboo slip that Lu Siyu held with greed blazing in their eyes. That was the Autumnspring Slip, an eternal stain on the Sixth Night Pillar’s reputation. It was a mirebound artifact that was capable of serving as the foundation of a major power, and yet a girl was simply playing with it like a toy. It was unbelievable.
