Chapter 3909: Decision

Chapter 3909: Decision

Lu Yin directed a smirk towards Xing Fan. “Look familiar? This is where you made a deal with Wen Jun. That’s the exact location where you promised to give him your own disciple.”

Everyone was startled, and they stared at Xing Fan in disbelief. She had agreed to give away her own disciple?

The woman’s pupils instantly shrank. “What nonsense are you spouting?”

Lu Yin sneered. “Wen Jun called himself the Idle King, and he pursued only pleasure. The only thing that could have moved him to action was the disciple of a dignified Lesser Sancte.”

He then created a second image. This one was of a rocky reef in the Sea of Emotions. “This is where you made a deal with Immortal Undying. You promised that you would help him restore his face to its original appearance. He never imagined that his disfigurement was originally because of you. It should be easy for a cultivator to restore a face, and yet poison had marred his appearance while you alone held the antidote.”

Xing Fan could not believe her eyes, and she stared at the image as though seeing a ghost. Impossible! How could he know all of these details?

There had not been any witnesses when she had made her deals with Wen Jun or Immortal Undying. This was simply impossible.

“This is Skyveil City, where you took advantage of Lord Yan’s hatred of me from the Cheng family’s destruction. You spoke to him at this exact location.

“This is the North Domain, 10,000 miles away from Ruler Garden. This is where you found Jiu Mu, and where you promised to help him escape to the Spirit Nidus so that he could evade Deathmound. That’s because, while he was found guilty of seizing and using a cultivated spirit seed for Seed Transfusion and was publicly expelled from Ruler Garden, they continued to secretly protect him.

“Finally, this is the last one: Yue Bei.” Lu Yin showed an image of a mountain range. “The truth is that this entire ordeal was planned by Yue Bei. He shared the plan with you, and he was also the one who took the initiative to target me. You simply held a grudge against me, and so you went along with his plan. His death was well deserved.”

Lu Yin’s eyes locked onto Xing Fan. “Does that explanation justify their deaths?”

Everyone turned to look at Xing Fan. If what Lu Yin said was true, then all five men’s deaths were well warranted. They had plotted against Lu Yin with Xing Fan. How could what they had done be considered selfless dedication towards resolving the issues in the Spirit Nidus? How could they be said to have died innocently?

The people present in the Frightened Sparrow Terrace did not actually care about what had been done, but was Lu Yin stating the truth? Xing Fan’s deals had been negotiated in utter secrecy, so how could Lu Yin have learned about them?

Jue Ling’s heart plummeted. This was the power of karma. Only karma could reveal the past and the present, revealing all secrets. This was Lu Yin’s true strength.

What a joke that Xing Fan had even tried to target such a man.

Xing Fan’s hands and feet went numb. While she had been defeated by Lu Yin before, she had never felt so chilled. She no longer looked at him with simple fear, but also with reverence now. She looked at him in the same manner in which she looked at the Immortal Greater Sancti.

Qing Yun stared intently at Lu Yin for a long time. Finally, she turned to Xing Fan. “Xing Fan, is what he said true?”

Xing Fan could not answer. Whether he had spoken the truth no longer mattered; she was utterly terrified. Lu Yin had become as unfathomable to her as a ghost or a god. Just what had he done?

At this moment, Xing Fan was utterly consumed by despair. Despite all of her preparations and speeches, everything had dissipated before her like smoke.

She could not say a word. There was nothing at all that she could say.

“Xing Fan, did he speak the truth?” Qing Yun demanded again.

Xing Fan blankly stared at Qing Yun. The Lesser Sancte’s lips were dry, and her face was pale and bloodless. All she managed to do was slowly nod.

Qing Yun nodded. “In that case, the deaths of Wen Jun and the others will no longer be pursued. Additionally, Xing Fan is hereby stripped of her title as Lesser Sancte.”

Xing Fan was startled. “Why revoke my title? Even if I made deals with Wen Jun and the others, that proves nothing! Not only that, I even found a solution for what’s happening in the Spirit Nidus! We-”

Qing Yun’s intense stare cut Xing Fan off. “Do you have any objections?”

Lu Yin remained calm. Even now, she’s still trying to argue?

Truthfully, revoking the woman’s title was already being merciful. If not for how big the matter had become and the fact that Lu Yin had attacked the Frightened Sparrow Terrace, he would not have allowed Xing Fan to get off this easily.

The woman let out a heavy sigh, staring at the ground in a daze.

“Xing Fan, is there anything else that you wish to say?” Qing Yun asked.

The others gave Xing Fan looks of pity. A dignified Lesser Sancte had been brought so low.

No one could blame her for her reaction. Anyone would struggle to process such a blow.

This was not merely a gap in strength, but also a difference in existence. It was as if one was human while the other was a god, and gods were omniscient.

“She has nothing more to say,” Dan Jin interceded.

Qing Yun looked around at the others. “In that case, does anyone else wish to say anything?”

There was no response.

Even someone like Ku Ji had barely spoken since arriving in the Frightened Sparrow Terrace.

This judgement had been dominated from the very start. Lu Yin had maintained the top position, and he had always been looking down on everyone else.

Qing Yun nodded. “Very well. Since none of you have anything to say, I do.”

Lu Yin looked at Qing Yun in surprise.

She turned to face Lu Yin, her expression still calm. “Mr. Lu, you can’t possibly believe that you can attack the Frightened Sparrow Terrace and just walk away, do you?”

Everyone looked over. Finally, the true reason why they had been summoned was being addressed.

In reality, any other matter could potentially be overlooked, but disrespecting a Greater Sancte could not be ignored.

Since ancient times, who had ever dared to attack one of the Greater Sancti’s demesnes? Other than Qing Cao, the Spirit Nidus’s own Immortal, there was no one.

Lu Yin had attacked the Frightened Sparrow Terrace, and he had stained its ground with blood. He had killed Yue Bei and even almost forced Xing Fan to her knees. There was no doubt that his actions had been too arrogant, as he had shown absolutely no regard for Greater Sancte Awe Gate.

Now, he would pay for his actions.

Lu Yin stepped forward, faced the massive portal, and bowed slowly. “This junior intended no disrespect to Greater Sancte Awe Gate. If I have caused any offense, I apologize.”

“Not accepted,” Qing Yun coldly retorted.

There was nothing that Lu Yin could do. He truly had been impulsive and acted willfully. Still, he did not regret his actions. That moment when he laid down his burdens had been the most liberating feeling of his life, and it had even led an aspect of his power to transform. If he was given a second chance, he would still attack Xing Fan in the Frightened Sparrow Terrace, even if it did not lead to that transformation.

“Mr. Lu, your actions were not some accident or mistake. You deliberately acted to establish your dominance on behalf of the Tianyuan Megaverse. Since you have done this, you must bear the price. Or could it be that you don’t dare admit to it, Mr. Lu?” Qing Yun challenged.

Lu Yin met Qing Yun’s gaze. “I admit it.”

Qing Yun nodded. “Good. Then I ask all of you to decide how one who has disrespected a Greater Sancte be punished.”

Gu Duanke and the others exchanged glances, but they said nothing.

Qing Yun looked at Gu Duanke, but he silently looked down at the ground, as if there was some marvelous sword intent there.

“Senior Gu Duanke, do you have a decision?”

Gu Duanke wearily rubbed his temples. “Naturally, the punishment for disrespecting a Greater Sancte should be judged by the Greater Sancte themselves. How could we presume to overstep our bounds?”

“Greater Sancte Awe Gate has given you this authority,” Qing Yun said.

Gu Duanke looked troubled. He glanced at Lu Yin and then at the massive gate. He shook his head. “I never expected this.”

Qing Yun’s attention shifted to Wu Cheng.

The old man was sitting with his eyes closed, looking like he was fast asleep. If one listened closely, they would even hear his snoring.

Qing Yun remained calm. “Senior Wu Cheng, do you have a decision?”

Wu Cheng did not react.

Qing Yun called again. “Senior Wu Cheng?”

Wu Cheng jerked, as if waking from a dream. His eyes slowly opened. “What? I didn’t catch that.”

Qing Yun repeated the question.

Wu Cheng took a moment to seriously consider the question and then looked at Bai Xia. “What do you think?”

Bai Xia rolled his eyes, put away his spear, and took out a long whip that he lightly snapped.

Wu Cheng nodded. “Understood.”

He then closed his eyes again.

Qing Yun glanced at Bai Xia, but she skipped him and looked at Jue Ling.

The weapon that Bai Xia chose to wield was a reflection of his mood: a sword indicated that he was happy, a spear that he was annoyed, and a whip that he was worried or did not know.

Jue Ling met Qing Yun’s gaze with a faint smile. “Sorry, Young Lady, but I also don’t know.”

Qing Yun turned to Ku Ji, who replied, “My thoughts match those of everyone else.”

Bai Xia muttered, “But we didn’t think anything.”

Ku Ji closed his eyes. “The rift... how deep it goes.”

Finally, Qing Yun looked to Lesser Sancte Dan Jin, who held Lu Yin’s gaze for a moment, but then she shook her head and said nothing.

Qing Yun looked all around. “Why is it that none of you wish to offer a decision?”

Bai Xia rolled his eyes so hard they nearly rolled back into his head. You don’t know why? Lu Yin attacked the Frightened Sparrow Terrace, killing Yue Bei and nearly killing Xing Fan, and yet Greater Sancte Awe Gate never did anything. Even an idiot can see that something’s up.

Lu Yin had clearly been establishing his authority. If Greater Sancte Awe Gate had disapproved of his actions, she would have dealt with him long ago. How could someone from the Tianyuan Megaverse be allowed to wantonly assert dominance in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse? Quite simply, it was because the Immortals did not want to move against Lu Yin. Was that because of Greater Sancte Green Lotus, or was there something else? Regardless, why would anyone present risk offending Lu Yin? What a joke.

Even without any additional reasons, Lu Yin was already terrifyingly powerful. He had completely overwhelmed Xing Fan, and it almost seemed like he was a Semi-Immortal. Regardless, he was invincible in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Whoever wanted to provoke such a person was welcome to do so, but no one in the Frightened Sparrow Terrace was going to take the risk.

In the future, it was likely that no one in the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse would dare to risk offending Lu Yin.

He had almost killed a Lesser Sancte, so who would have the courage to stand up to him?

“Very well. Since none of you will decide, I will convey Greater Sancte Awe Gate’s decision.”

Lu Yin’s expression grew solemn, and he turned to face the massive gate.

The others quickly schooled their expressions as well. As expected, Greater Sancte Awe Gate already had a plan, so why had they been summoned in the first place? Maybe it was just so that there would be witnesses to the trouble that Lu Yin caused.

Qing Yun stared at Lu Yin as she slowly proclaimed, “Lu Yin’s disrespect to the Greater Sancte stems from the Tianyuan Megaverse. Since that is the case, the upheaval in the Spirit Nidus is given to you to resolve. If you can, this matter ends here. If not... the Tianyuan will be reset.”

Lu Yin’s expression changed drastically. Resetting the Tianyuan was his reverse scale. Greater Sancte Awe Gate was using the Tianyuan as leverage to force him to deal with the issues in the Spirit Nidus. At this moment, Lu Yin no longer knew what Greater Sancte Awe Gate’s attitude toward him truly was.

If she was friendly, why had she threatened him with the Tianyuan? If she was unfriendly, why had she not acted already?

“Lu Yin, this is Greater Sancte Awe Gate’s decision. Do you accept it?” Qing Yun continued.

Lu Yin took a deep breath, and then proceeded to slowly bow to the massive gate. “This junior understands.”

Everyone stared at Lu Yin’s back, silently impressed by Greater Sancte Awe Gate’s decision. She had used the Tianyuan Megaverse as a weapon to force Lu Yin to deal with the Spirit Nidus. No matter how they looked at the situation, this was not favoritism. The goal was still to resolve the upheaval.

No one was able to determine Greater Sancte Awe Gate’s attitude after this.

With everything settled, Lu Yin straightened back up. Qing Yun walked over to him, no longer stern, but instead smiling at him. “Mr. Lu, you attacked all four domains with your sword intent. Very impressive!”

Lu Yin tentatively asked, “Greater Sancte Awe Gate isn’t angry, is she?”

Qing Yun replied, “Do you really care if she is or not?”

Lu Yin’s expression grew solemn. “Of course. I never intended to be disrespectful to a Greater Sancte.”

“Good. As for the situation in the Spirit Nidus, I hope that you will be able to settle things there quickly, Mr. Lu. It doesn’t seem like it will be easy. After all, it involves... Netherfiends,” Qing Yun said. As soon as she had finished speaking, she vanished.

Lu Yin let out a breath, and then he turned around to look for Xing Fan.

The woman had already left the Frightened Sparrow Terrace. She did not dare to face Lu Yin directly. She was truly afraid of him. While losing to him in a fight was understandable, what she had seen exceeded her comprehension.

Despite knowing that Lu Yin would not attack her again in the Frightened Sparrow Terrace, she had fled.

Lu Yin did not try to stop Xing Fan from leaving. Her debt with him had not been settled yet. Her five pawns were dead, but the woman herself had only lost her title. How could that possibly be sufficient?

Gu Duanke gave Lu Yin a nod of acknowledgement, and then he turned to return to the Seventh Night Pillar.
