Chapter 4060: Two Statues

Chapter 4060: Two Statues

The Origin Progenitor had created the beginning, whereas Lu Yin had created the end.

No one knew how many could walk this path.

The higher a person’s cultivation, the more clearly they could sense the greatness of the cultivation path that Lu Yin was sharing.

Countless specks of green light fell from the massive green tree, though none of them were real.

Instead, within the Heavens Sect, Lu Yin released some true motes of green light, which allowed Lu Yuan and the rest of the Three Realms and Six Daos to cultivate the Nirvana Tree Path. Also included were Elder Shan Gu, Mu Shen, and some others.

If even one of them could successfully cultivate the method, it would be enough.

However, Lu Yin did not believe that success would be limited to just one. Every person he granted a mote of green light to was a prodigy. While the Nirvana Tree Path might not define their path, it would at least offer them another way forward.

Both inside and outside the Heavens Sect, countless people grew reverent.

From afar, the entire Origin Universe was covered by the image of the Nirvana Tree Path being shared.

Tuo Lin had Lu Yin’s statue on his back as he offered a deep bow. “Master, your disciple has received this cultivation path.

“Your disciple will not fail your teaching, and I will spread this Nirvana Tree Path far and wide.

“What about you, Little Ruyu?”

Yan Ruyu did not reply, so Tuo Lin turned to give her a look of puzzlement.

Her soft voice reached his ear. “Master.”

Tuo Lin smiled. “My master is also your master.”

He then saw a statue appear on Yan Ruyu’s back. It was identical to the one he carried, being of Lu Yin.

“Little Ruyu, you have Master’s statue too! He’s acknowledged you!”

“I know. Master has acknowledged me. I am also your disciple, Master. I will not fail your teachings. I will spread your Nirvana Tree Path.”

“Little Ruyu, you’re wonderful!”

The statue that Tuo Lin carried glowed faintly, as did the one on Yan Ruyu’s back. His was made of stone. Plain, yet brimming with spirit. Hers was formed from sequence particles, born from the laws she had unknowingly grasped. None of that mattered; she only wished to gather every single one of them into her master’s statue.

The two statues shone together, glowing in an unremarkable corner of the Tianyuan Megaverse.

On Earth, countless people fervently shouted before a statue of Lu Yin. They might not be able to understand the greatness of the Nirvana Tree Path, but they could sense his selflessness and devotion. The warmth that he gave them by serving as their guardian calmed every heart.

On Zenyu Star, Peach and a number of others gazed in the direction of the Heavens Sect from beside a small bar.

Even farther away, countless people stared at the illusory green tree with fervent eyes from the Innerverse’s flowzones, the Cosmic Sea, the Starfall Sea, and the Neoverse. The reverence they felt for Lu Yin was beyond words.

Never before had anyone stood so high in their hearts.

The Origin Progenitor had always been too distant, whereas Lu Yin was real and present.

Four colossal battleships drifted among the stars. A number of cultivators from the Spirit Nidus stood on them, also staring in the direction of the Heavens Sect. The Nirvana Tree Path stirred a powerful desire in them as well. They also wished to cultivate it.

Lu Yin did not neglect them.

Green motes fell upon them, and while they were only illusory, the longing that they brought about was painfully real.

Even so, Su Shidao received a genuine green light. He stared in the direction of the Heavens Sect with complicated emotions.

He had not expected Lu Yin to actually mean what he had said about caring for all of human civilization and treating the people of the Tianyuan and the Spirit Nidus equally.

He was following through on exactly that.

This showed the breadth of his vision.

In a parallel universe of the Tianyuan, Skydog lazily yawned.

Wang Xiaoyu calmly sat nearby as Forgotten Ruins God absentmindedly stared at the red sword in her hand. “Causing so much a commotion as soon as you return, injuring an Immortal. Very impressive, little Lu Yin. Even I don’t dare to face you now, haha.”

Wang Xiaoyu opened her eyes. “It’s time to leave.”

“And go where?” Forgotten Ruins God asked.

Wang Xiaoyu coldly replied, “Anywhere, so long as we can get away from the Tianyuan.”

“Get away? What? Can you really bear to leave him?”

“If we don’t leave now, we’ll be found. You’ve seen what Lu Yin is capable of now. Not even Master Qing Cao can protect us any longer.”

Skydog shivered as it heard those words. It could still remember the suffocating pressure it had felt when Lu Yin had fought against the Immortal beast. It was indeed best if they left.

Forgotten Ruins God’s lips curled up to form a charming smile. “Master Qing Cao would have never protected us.”

With that, the red sword in her hand flashed, the blade grazing Wang Xiaoyu’s shoulder as it sliced straight down at Skydog.

Wang Xiaoyu did not dodge, even as the sword split her shoulder open and caused a bleeding wound.

Skydog howled as the crimson blade descended. It tried to flee, but it was a step too slow. It was possible that escape had never even been possible. The sword sliced through the beast’s flesh, producing another, louder howl.

“Enough with your wailing. I didn’t kill you.”

Forgotten Ruins God flicked her wrist, scattering the blood from the blade. Her gaze turned deep as she peered into the distance. “There will always be a price to be paid if you don’t want to be found.”

Wang Xiaoyu glanced at her wound, her face pale. It had appeared to be a casual attack, and yet the sword had caused immense damage. After all, it was that sword.

...

In another one of the Tianyuan’s parallel universes, a massive spacecraft sailed past the stars. Inside, hundreds of busy attendants bustled about. All of them served only two people, who were the owners of the vessel.

In the dining hall, Yu Leng sat in a chair, pale-faced with nervous eyes.

“Master, there’s no need to worry. The insects have been wiped out, and the people of the Heavens Sect just left. There won’t be any problems,” a middle-aged man reported in a respectful tone. He then waved for a group of women to serve food, each dish exquisitely arranged.

Sitting across from Yu Leng, Mo Bai propped her chin up with a hand as she stared out at the stars. “Have the people from the Heavens Sect left?”

“They’re gone,” the man repeated, stealing a glance at Mo Bai. There was fire in his eyes, though he quickly looked away. The woman was simply too tempting. A single glance was enough to shorten his life.

“Leave us. Take the others with you,” Yu Leng ordered.

The man hurriedly withdrew with everyone else, leaving only Yu Leng and Mob Bai in the dining hall.

“What should we do?”

Mo Bai’s eyes shimmered as she looked over at Yu Leng. “Afraid?”

Yu Leng’s eyes narrowed. His expression was cold, but also nervous. “He’s back, and he also forced your civilization to retreat. I thought that, when the Nest civilization arrived, no one would be able to stop them. Instead, the moment he returned...”

“All these years... have you been treated well?” Mo Bai asked softly.

Yu Leng hesitated. He first nodded, but then shook his head. He was not sure of how to answer.

Mo Bai looked at him with pity in her eyes. “Eat. These are all your favorite dishes.”

Yu Leng gave a helpless sigh. “I have no appetite right now. Let’s leave the Tianyuan. Anywhere else will do, provided that we can get far away from him. I truly cannot face him. He... he is too terrifying.”

Suddenly, he grabbed Mo Bai’s hand, his eyes blazing. “Let’s go! We can just forget everything: humans, the Nest civilization, all of it. Let’s just go!”

“Where do you want to go?”

“Anywhere.”

“You would abandon it? The human civilization is no match for us. We will eventually win.”

Yu Leng irritably snapped, “That’s just because you don’t understand Lu Yin! You don’t know what he means to us humans! You don’t realize how deeply humanity worships him. To us, he is a god! You can’t understand!

“Mo Bai, you’re not an insect, you’re human too, aren’t you? You’re human, so let’s just go. Please, let’s go.”

Mo Bai raised a hand to gently stroke Yu Leng’s head. Her voice was tender. “Alright. Let’s go.”

Yu Leng let out a heavy breath as he gazed longingly at the woman’s flawless, crystal-like skin. “Really?”

Mo Bai smiled. She then snapped her wrist, causing the lights to flicker as blood sprayed across the dining hall, splattering a gruesome crimson stain across the table.

Yu Leng’s head rolled into a corner, stopping with a dull thud.

His body was still sitting in his chair.

His eyes were bulging with disbelief, staring blankly at Mo Bai, the bewitching demoness.

She pulled her hand back and wiped the blood away. Her snow-white, pupilless eyes shifted to the corner to meet Yu Leng’s gaze. “Don’t blame me. You’re right, he is too terrifying. I don’t want to be found, so forgive me, but you must die. Thank you for all these years.”

Yu Leng opened his mouth to speak, but the light quickly faded from his eyes as darkness claimed him.

Mo Bai rose to her feet and took a step, vanishing.

Once she was gone, the spacecraft disappeared with a thunderous explosion, leaving nothing but dust behind.

...

As the Heavens Sect continued to spread Lu Yin’s teachings, countless events continued to play out across every corner of the Tianyuan. It was as though the filth that had been scattered into the shadows was being swept away, leaving everything much cleaner.

Still, whatever remained would only bury itself deeper.

It did not take overly long for the Nirvana Tree Path to be shared, but even after everything was over, cultivators lingered wherever they stood.

On the other hand, Lu Yin returned to his courtyard, where Long Xi brewed tea for him.

He accepted the cup and then looked at Long Xi. “You aren’t Zhao Ran, and there’s no need for you to try to be another Zhao Ran.”

Long Xi gave a small smile. “Thank you for the Nirvana Tree Path.”

Like many in the Heavens Sect, Long Xi had established a tree within her body from the motes of green light.

Cultivators from the Nine Odysseys Megaverse were able to directly attach additional spirit seeds onto their internal trees, but those from the Tianyuan could only make slow progress. It was possible to connect all the powers that they cultivated to the tree, but doing so was not possible in a short period of time.

Lu Yin replied, “Take it slow. I still don’t know what sort of impact the Nirvana Tree Path will have on the Tianyuan.”

As he looked at Long Xi, he added, “I’m not used to seeing you like this.”

She took a seat, and Lu Yin sipped his tea. “That’s better.”

Long Xi was not Zhao Ran, and she never would be. The two were fundamentally different people.

It was possible that Long Xi seemed more like the true mistress of the mountain behind the Heavens Sect.

Several days later, people started to slowly disperse. Before leaving, each person offered a respectful bow in the direction of the Heavens Sect.

Half a month later, Lu Yin was sitting in his courtyard when he released his Karmic Dao, connecting it to the Tianyuan’s karma. Then, using the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm, he tried to indirectly examine himself to see if anyone in the Tianyuan was plotting against him.

The Tianyuan rumbled, though many had learned that the thunder was because of Lu Yin.

He rose upwards as karma formed a tornado that fell from the sky, piercing through his body as it powered his search.

The rumbling across the megaverse grew increasingly violent.

Lu Yin stared upwards. Given the violent reaction from the karma, there was no doubt that someone was plotting against him, but who? Wei Nu? Remnants of Aeternus? The Nest civilization?

The Tianyuan did not suffer the same sort of inner turmoil and external threats as the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, but it was not much better. What Lu Yin feared most was Obscura. If someone from Obscura was truly hiding inside of human civilization, the Tianyuan was the most likely hiding place. Could Lu Yin drag that member of Obscura into the open?

If he did, they would be an enemy Immortal.

Also, it was clear that Master Qing Cao leaned more towards supporting Obscura.

At that moment, Lu Yin felt a sudden surge of regret. He had been impulsive. He should not have been so hasty to find those who were targeting him.
