Chapter 4208: Are They All Unfeeling?
It took quite a while for Ning Xiao to regain his senses. His face remained pale as he bowed and stepped back.
After observing him, everyone’s gaze turned back to the Champions’ Stage Purgatory, greater fear than ever before filling their eyes.
Even Ning Xiao had ended up in a miserable state. Many of those present silently admitted to themselves that they could not endure such an ordeal.
Greater Sancte Awe Gate glanced at Ning Xiao. After experiencing such an event, there was no question that his life would change, though how that change would affect his path of cultivation remained unknown.
At the very least, his path would not be as smooth as it had been before.
Next, it was Hong'er and Chu Yuan’s turn to ask their questions.
Chu Yuan glanced at Hong'er, intending to allow her to go first, but she refused to move and even slowly closed her eyes.
Seeing her reaction, Chu Yuan did not insist. He stepped forward and bowed to Greater Sancte Awe Gate and Lu Yin. “The question that this junior wishes to ask is also related to the Immortal realm.”
No one was surprised. Given an opportunity to speak with Immortal cultivators, who would not ask questions about that realm?
“This junior wishes to ask Senior Awe Gate: how should I step into the Immortal realm?”
Everyone stared at him. What a direct question.
Lu Yin was also staring at Chu Yuan. When they had first met, the Dao Chosen of the First Mainland of the ancient Heavens Sect had been arrogant and ambitious, and he had completely looked down on Lu Yin. After losing the battle to determine the new Dao Chosen of the Origin Universe, Chu Yuan had faded from public sight. The truth was that Chu Yuan had not just been inferior; he had been entirely overshadowed by Lu Yin.
Without Lu Yin, there was no question that Chu Yuan would have become the Dao Chosen of the Origin Universe, representing the reestablished Heavens Sect.
Greater Sancte Awe Gate stared at Chu Yuan. “I know who you are. You were once the Tianyuan’s Dao Chosen, a cultivator from a past era. You have even fought Mr. Lu.”
Chu Yuan looked at Lu Yin, his expression still calm. “At that time, I was quite arrogant. Losing to Lord Lu was the greatest stroke of fortune in my life. Without that defeat, the Origin Universe would have never overcome Aeternus under Lord Lu’s lead. The current human civilization and even this very moment would be entirely different, while I myself would still be blind to who I was, and I would have wasted my years away.”
Greater Sancte Awe Gate was impressed. “It is good that you can think that way. Go to the ninth level of the Blood Tower. Greater Sancte Blood Tower’s path suits you better. He also cultivates the power of time.”
Chu Yuan helplessly replied, “I have repeatedly attempted to enter the Blood Tower over the last century, but because I was once the Heavens Sect’s Dao Chosen, Greater Sancte Blood Tower has avoided me.”
Greater Sancte Awe Gate understood. “Blood Tower wishes to avoid possible conflict. If one of the Heavens Sect’s Dao Chosen were to become his disciple by reaching the ninth level of his Blood Tower, it would make it appear as though the Blood Tower stands above the Heavens Sect, which would indeed be improper.”
Lu Yin spoke up. “Go to the ninth level of the Blood Tower. If Greater Sancte Blood Tower is willing to accept you, then stay. There is no issue.”
Chu Yuan turned to face Lu Yin and bowed low. “Thank you, Lord Lu.”
Lu Yin alone was able to resolve this particular matter.
“However, if Greater Sancte Blood Tower still does not wish to accept you, it has nothing to do with anyone else.”
“I understand.”
Chu Yuan stepped back. He had posed his question to Greater Sancte Awe Gate, while Lu Yin had removed the obstacle of his allegiance to the Heavens Sect. Chu Yuan was satisfied with this.
Finally, everyone looked at Hong’er.
She was one of Greater Sancte Green Lotus’s nominal disciples, the third of the Seven Fairies, and everyone was quite curious about what she intended to ask.
After all, she could simply pose a question to Greater Sancte Green Lotus at any time.
Even Greater Sancte Awe Gate was puzzled by the matter. She had met the Seven Fairies many times before, and they were not restricted from visiting the Frightened Sparrow Terrace. What could be so urgent that Hong’er needed to ask it at this moment?
Hong’er had scared a Frightened Sparrow before. It was clear that she could have abstained from seriously participating in the competition.
Hong’er stepped forward and bowed to Greater Sancte Awe Gate and Lu Yin.
“Hong’er, what do you wish to ask?” Greater Sancte Awe Gate asked with curiosity.
Hong’er met her gaze. “I wish to ask Mr. Lu a question.”
Greater Sancte Awe Gate looked over at Lu Yin in surprise.
Everyone looked between Lu Yin and Hong’er. It seemed that the focus of the gathering was no longer Greater Sancte Awe Gate.
Someone in the crowd discreetly pulled out a booklet. Hong’er’s name was clearly listed in it. That booklet was Lu Yin’s harem list, which included all of the Seven Fairies.
Lu Yin was also confused. “What is it?”
Hong’er bowed yet again. “May I ask, Mr. Lu, is every being who reaches the Immortal realm unfeeling?”
Everyone was stunned by the question. No one had expected to hear such a thing.
Lu Yin was just as surprised as anyone, and he simply stared at the woman.
Hong’er met his gaze with calm, unwavering eyes. “Mr. Lu, are Immortals always unfeeling?”
Greater Sancte Awe Gate frowned. “Hong’er, what exactly are you trying to say?”
Hong’er did not even look at Greater Sancte Awe Gate. Her focus remained entirely on Lu Yin.
He calmly replied, “Of course not. Of the Immortals you have met, which one lacks emotions?”
Hong’er asked for the third time. “Mr. Lu, are all Immortals unfeeling?”
The crowd was bewildered. Had the woman gone insane? Mr. Lu had clearly already answered her.
Lu Yin stared at Hong’er, wondering what the true meaning of her question was.
Greater Sancte Awe Gate’s tone fell. “Hong’er, Mr. Lu has already answered you. Step back.”
Hong’er stared at Lu Yin. “Mr. Lu, are all Immortals unfeeling?”
Greater Sancte Awe Gate snapped in anger. “Insolent!”
She flung Hong’er off of the Frightened Sparrow Terrace with a wave of her hand. Lu Yin moved to stop her, but Greater Sancte Awe Gate’s expression was frigid. “There are rules here on my Frightened Sparrow Terrace. Do not think that you can defy them just because you have Green Lotus behind you.”
Lu Siyu and Ming Xiaolong immediately stepped forward to plead for their sister.
“Silence. The Sea of Karma will give me an explanation for this matter.” Greater Sancte Awe Gate was truly enraged. Hong’er had completely ignored Awe Gate, and she had repeatedly questioned Lu Yin, despite having already received an answer. Her behavior was unacceptably disrespectful.
“The Frightened Sparrow Terrace Gathering is over.” Awe Gate then glanced at Lu Yin. “Do as you wish, Mr. Lu. I must go to the Sea of Karma.”
Lu Yin replied, “This isn’t all that serious, is it? Why bother with the girl?”
Greater Sancte Awe Gate stepped forward, vanishing.
As Lu Yin watched the Awe Gate close, Lu Siyu and the others also hurried away, their faces pale.
No one had expected the Terrace Gathering to end on such a cold note. Normally, Greater Sancte Awe Gate would grant every attendee a sort of baptism, subjecting them to a type of pressure that had helped many to break through in the past. This time, that part of the event had been omitted.
All of the attendees were quite upset with Hong'er, though none of them dared to scold her.
After all, Hong'er was one of the Seven Fairies.
Lu Yin could not understand the meaning of Hong'er’s question. She had stared only at him. Her eyes had been searching for something, and he had seen a hint of confusion, as well as an emotion that he could not name.
He could not dismiss the matter from his mind, so he simply decided to also go to the Sea of Karma.
Within the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, Greater Sancte Awe Gate could use her gates to move at a speed that was in no way inferior to Lu Yin’s teleportation.
Lu Yin arrived in the Sea of Karma and saw Greater Sancte Awe Gate already there.
He did not disturb her and waited in silence.
Before long, Greater Sancte Green Lotus appeared.
Greater Sancte Awe Gate had only just begun to speak when she was interrupted by Greater Sancte Green Lotus. “I already know of the matter. Hong'er is being punished and ordered to reflect. As her master, I have failed to educate her properly. This has led to her disrupting your gathering. For this, I apologize.”
Greater Sancte Awe Gate’s expression noticeably relaxed after hearing Greater Sancte Green Lotus’s apology. “I just don’t understand why Hong'er would act in such a way. She hasn’t been like this before.”
Greater Sancte Green Lotus gave a helpless smile. “I will ask her.”
“Very well. In that case, I will take my leave.” Greater Sancte Awe Gate immediately left again.
Once she was gone, Greater Sancte Green Lotus turned to give Lu Yin a helpless look. “This time, Hong'er truly upset Awe Gate. She is genuinely angry about this.”
Lu Yin said, “Anyone would get upset after being ignored, but it shouldn’t have been such a serious matter. The gathering was practically over, and Hong'er deliberately asked her question last. It seems possible that she expected things to turn out as they did and didn’t want to affect the others.”
Greater Sancte Green Lotus muttered, “I truly do not know what is wrong with that girl.”
“May I see Hong'er? She directed her question to me.”
“It would be better if you didn’t. Awe Gate’s temper is not good, and Hong'er has already been punished and ordered to reflect on her actions. If she meets with an outsider at this time, I will not be able to offer a reasonable explanation.”
Lu Yin wanted to say something more, but Green Lotus spoke first. “Everyone deals with their own pressure. Living brings about pressure. Playing brings about pressure. Mortals face pressure, and even Immortals have to deal with pressure. That gathering is one of the few chances for Awe Gate to release the pressure that she faces. Having it disrupted touched her bottom line. You will understand in the future.
“It is rare for someone to find a way to release their pressure.”
Lu Yin nodded. “Very well, then I will take my leave.”

There was a megaverse in the Aevum Inch that was named Tricolor Skyborne, after the majority species. However, in the eyes of the Seven-Treasure Anuras, the megaverse was nothing more than a farm for dried snails.
One day, Old Fourth appeared, drenched in blood and frantically hopping around while carrying their steel fork in a hand. The toad was dragging Little Eighteen behind them as they fled into the distance.
Little Eighteen shrieked, “Uncle Fourth, we still haven’t lost! I want to fight it!”
Old Fourth’s mouth twisted. “Fight my foot! We’re blessed that we can still run.”
“Uncle Fourthe, where’s your style? Running is the most unstylish thing!”
“Knowing when to retreat is stylish.”
Right after that, streams of black hexagonal plates shot out of the Tricolor Skyborne megaverse, flying towards Old Fourth and Little Eighteen.
Old Fourth threw their steel fork at the approaching plates.
“Uncle Fourthe, that’s your favorite steel fork!”
“Shut up and give me yours!”
“Here you go.”
“Now take this!”
The second steel fork shot at the hexagonal plates. The first fork slammed into one plate, but despite how thin the plate was, the fork failed to pierce through it, and it even failed to fully stop the plate. Only after the impact of the second fork did the plate come to a stop.
As soon as the one plate halted, the others immediately scattered and slowed.
Seizing the opening, Old Fourth dragged Little Eighteen away and escaped.
Once the toads were gone, the plates spun around, shredding both of the steel forks to shards. A deep voice rumbled, “I finally found you, you filthy toads.”
Several years later, Old Fourth and Little Eighteen finally slowed down, still breathing heavily. A backward glance verified that they had finally shaken off their pursuers.
Strange. How did that civilization learn that the Tricolor Skybornes are connected to us? How did they even manage to track the snails down?
“Uncle Fourth, what’s going on? You barely even fought before running away.” Little Eighteen complained, unwilling to accept such humiliation. They were an Aberrant; when had they ever feared?
Old Fourth grinned. “What do you mean, I didn’t fight? Look at the blood on my face.”
“They’re just scratches.”
“You know nothing. That was the Blacklight Civilization.”
Little Eighteen was stunned. “The Blacklight Civilization? Weren’t they destroyed?”
Old Fourth stared off into the distance. “How should I know? They should have been wiped out back then, so why are they still around? Not only that, but from the looks of things, they’re coming after us.
“We need to hurry back and let Ancestor analyze this situation. The Blacklight Civilization is a massive problem.”

Decades later, in the human civilization’s Tianyuan Megaverse, Lu Yin appeared on the mountain behind the Heavens Sect, where he immediately saw Mister Mu.
“How is Ku Jie?” Mister Mu asked.
“There’s still no sign of Progenitor Ku emerging.”
Mister Mu nodded. “This is Ku Jie’s opportunity. He sealed himself with karma and is preparing to use Extremes Must Be Reversed with it. If he wanted to emerge, he could have done so long ago. There is no need for us to interfere.”
“Understood.”
“What of Greater Sancte Blood Tower?”
This question prompted a helpless sigh from Lu Yin. “He is annoying Zhao Ran.”
