Chapter 4477: At The End Of The Road

Chapter 4477: At The End Of The Road

The blow crossed the void, passing by the power of Stillness and directly slamming into Death's Dominion’s body.

The gigantic white skeleton came to a halt.

Lu Yin suddenly appeared behind Death's Dominion. From there, his Heaven’s Sight locked onto Ni Bieluo: Crow Immobilization.

Ni Bieluo was frozen in place.

For a moment, both supreme powerhouses were stalled.

From Lu Yin’s body, Stillness erupted once again. One eye turned black while the other turned white. His hair hung to his waist as a black energy coiled around his upper body like a spinning nebula as it transformed into spiraling white chains. He gripped his scythe in hand. This was his Stillness Transformation.

At the same time, his divine energy roiled. The tri-color divine energy transformation was still active as well.

Lu Yin’s eyes changed yet again; one shifted to become black and white, while the other turned scarlet. The Stillness transformation and divine energy transformation existed simultaneously, splitting his body into two halves: one black and white, the other red.

The power of Stillness and the tri-color divine energy flooded his mind at the same time, driving Lu Yin to madness. He had cultivated neither of these two powers steadily throughout his life, and it was extremely easy to lose control of either one. At this moment, he was trying to force the two together, and it had finally reached the point where his own sense of reason could not suppress them anymore.

He roared at the sky. Using the limits of his own power as a guide, he raised Aberrant and then slashed the scythe down.

Black-and-white power and tri-color divine energy were drawn out at the same time as he unleashed a single blow at the back of Death's Dominion’s head. This was the strongest strike that Lu Yin had ever unleashed, far surpassing the individual Stillness transformation and the tri-color divine energy transformation. Even Ni Bieluo was startled by the power that Lu Yin released.

This human was not an Immortal, and yet he was capable of releasing such a powerful attack. Such a thing had never been heard of throughout all time.

Death's Dominion only felt a chill at the back of their skull. The skeleton was held in place by Ni Bieluo’s attack, Endless Recall, which made it difficult to move at all. They could only allow the slash to land.

At that moment, a huge shadow rose into the air and defended the back of Death's Dominion’s head, taking the slash directly. The figure was easily torn apart. It was the Immortal skeleton that had previously shoved Death's Dominion out of Crow Immobilization’s range. Before Lu Yin’s slash, this Immortal had no power to resist at all and was cleanly split in two. The slash’s remaining power still struck the back of Death's Dominion’s head.

Bang!

With a massive explosion, space and time shattered. Countless spatial cracks spread throughout the Trio, and countless people spat out blood, their faces turning pale.

The Stillness within the Death Megaverse’s skeletons suddenly froze, to the point where some of them simply collapsed.

The Divine King was shaken. As it peered into the distance, it could feel the aftermath of that slash, and even it was wary of such power. Was this something that an Aberrant could unleash?

The Nine Odysseys Megaverse was submerged in black-and-white and tri-color divine energy. The pure black light had been torn apart.

Countless mountains shattered, and oceans evaporated. Beneath Lu Yin’s slash, a blinding light rose. It was like a sun had been born within the Human Trio, and it was impossible to look at it directly.

With a crack, the scythe split apart, shattering as it fell. Every fragment contained both Stillness and Activeness, and they looked like meteors as they fell through the sky.

Lu Yin held the remaining piece of his scythe while staring at the back of Death's Dominion’s head, despair rising within him.

There was a slash mark on the skull. It was very clear and very deep, yet it still only a slash mark.

Lu Yin had intended for his attack to shatter Death's Dominion’s skull and then continue on to cut Ni Bieluo.

However, the slash had failed to even split Death's Dominion apart.

This attack had contained the greatest power that Lu Yin possessed.

If Ni Bieluo had not first struck Death's Dominion, and if Lu Yin had not used a sneak attack to immobilize Ni Bieluo, he would have never even had the chance to unleash that attack.

Why had it still turned out so poorly? Lu Yin was overcome with powerlessness as he stared on in a daze.

Death's Dominion slowly raised a hand and touched the back of their head. The skeleton then turned, their two hollow sockets fixing upon Lu Yin. “Since the war against the Nine Ramparts, you are the first to injure me. For a creature not an Immortal to do so is a humiliation.

“Die!”

With that, the giant raised their bone hand and struck.

Lu Yin was blasted away. As he flew, he smashed through the land of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse and also shattered its stars. Half of his body went numb. He could no longer hold the broken scythe, and it slipped from his fingers.

The World of Death was unleashed again.

Ni Bieluo’s cage also started shrinking again. Targeting Lu Yin, it tore through the megaverse, sending out gray ripples. Those were signs that it was using the power of time.

The local branch of the River of Aeons was boiling.

In a war of this level, even time seemed meaningless.

“You cannot kill him.” Ni Bieluo moved to block the descending Duality Seal, but at the same time, it drove its trident through Lu Yin’s abdomen and picked him up. Lu Yin’s blood ran down the trident, staining the shaft red.

Death's Dominion spun the black plaza around, smashing it against the trident. Sparks flew out, and Lu Yin was thrown away by the tremendous impact. His body ended the Stillness transformation, as well as the tri-color divine-energy transformation. Even those two powers could not help him.

This was an absolute gap in power. At this point, he was nothing more than a toy being fought over by two monstrous beings.

***

At the same time, in the Tianyuan, Hong Xia stared at the enormous Ten-Eyed Divine Crow before him. At last, he had found it.

To travel from the Nine Odysseys Megaverse to the Tianyuan, an ordinary Immortal would need a year, but for Hong Xia, it was no distance at all.

How had Lu Yin done it? How had he actually managed to move the Divine Crow?

Though, that no longer mattered. No matter how many powers the brat may have mastered, it could not bridge a gap in true power.

Hong Xia turned his cold gaze back to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse to watch as the two beings fought over Lu Yin. The man was coughing blood, already gravely wounded. The corner of Hong Xia’s mouth rose. Lu Yin should die soon. That trash had actually dared to scheme against him.

Everyone in the Trio had to die.

Hm? Hong Xia frowned and slowly turned around. At some unknown moment in time, someone had managed to draw very close to him.

“Your cosmic law is very unusual.” Hong Xia sized up the newcomer in surprise.

The newcomer was Jiang Feng.

The Ten-Eyed Divine Crow was in the Tianyuan Megaverse, and the moment that Hong Xia arrived, he had been sensed. Jiang Feng had immediately prepared to strike, but while he was able to evade even Si Qin’s perception, he could not evade Hong Xia’s.

Jiang Feng had believed that he would have a chance to attack.

He also felt powerless. Hong Xia was simply unfathomable.

The Divine King, Death's Dominion, and Ni Bieluo—each of them was supremely powerful, but the Hong Xia standing before Jiang Feng might not be inferior to any of those other powerhouses.

He was simply better at hiding his strength.

“Come with me. This civilization no longer has any hope,” Hong Xia stated bluntly. He was rather impressed by Jiang Feng, as the man had managed to get very close to him.

That was somewhat unbelievable. An ordinary Immortal—no, this man was not exactly an ordinary Immortal as his aura was strange and somewhat unstable. Even so, he had still managed to get very close to him. Even a two-law Immortal might not succeed in doing so.

Also, why is this person’s aura so peculiar? He seems to be an Immortal, yet not quite. Hong Xia felt as if he had heard of such a state somewhere before.

Jiang Feng shrugged. “I know, but I’m no good at being a traitor.”

Hong Xia’s voice grew cold. “I will grant you one more chance. Follow me, and you can live.”

As he spoke, he raised a hand and curled his fingers. Those bending fingers caused space to fold again and again. The hand was pointed in the direction of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, and the folding space twisted and merged. Eventually, scenes from the distant megaverse appeared before Jiang Feng’s eyes.

He saw Lu Yin struggling, coughing blood as he tried every possible means of fighting back but was still utterly powerless. Jiang Feng saw Master Qing Cao trying to protect Blood Tower in a desperate battle. He saw Ku Deng struggling with his own battle, and he even saw Awe Gate on the verge of death. Jiang Feng saw an endless rain of blood.

“Seeing this, do you still believe that there is any hope? Follow me. I am only giving you this chance, and it is your only chance.”

Jiang Feng watched as Lu Yin returned to the fight again and again, only to be crushed each time. His body was breaking apart as he was pushed into a desperate dead end.

Jiang Feng closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. “He does not run. He can clearly teleport, and yet he still does not run.”

Hong Xia frowned. “Hopelessly stubborn.”

Jiang Feng opened his eyes and looked over at Hong Xia with a smile. “Do you have children?”

Hong Xia’s expression turned icy.

“You do not.” Jiang Feng shook his head. “And you never will. If you had children, you would never be able to watch your own child being bullied by others while you run away to protect yourself. That is why you are a traitor. What you betrayed was not only your own civilization, but also the dignity that you should have had as a human being.

“Sorry, but I have let you down. A person should maintain at least a little self-respect.” With that, lightning exploded, and Jiang Feng stepped forward. All things in the cosmos had life. He closed his eyes, allowing him to see even more clearly. Everything Begins From Nothing. The cosmos itself originally had nothing.

The edge of a sword covered in lightning steadily moved closer to Hong Xia.

The man directed a cold stare at Jiang Feng, but beneath that coldness, there was also surprise.

Hong Xia was able to sense this man less and less. As the man approached, it was as if he no longer existed in Hong Xia’s senses at all. Jiang Feng’s existence was fading, as he was merging with the cosmos.

It was not that his body was vanishing, but rather that his aura, his life itself, was vanishing. It was as though Jiang Feng had become one with the Aevum Inch while Hong Xia’s own existence had become an aberration.

This feeling left Hong Xia extremely uncomfortable. He casually waved a hand, and the edge of the sword sliced into Jiang Feng, cutting in bit by bit. No blood?

The blade flashed past. Jiang Feng and Hong Xia passed by one another.

Hong Xia turned to look at Jiang Feng again. Blood stains appeared on the front of Jiang Feng’s body and gradually spread.

Hong Xia’s eyes narrowed. There was blood now, so why had there been none a moment earlier?

Jiang Feng’s strength drained away, and he slowly collapsed and fell.

At that moment, a punch came blasting in from the distance. It was from Progenitor Chen, who was still holding Wang Xiaoyu in his arms as he threw a Star Fist at Hong Xia.

Hong Xia was revolted. He hated the sight of Progenitor Chen holding Wang Xiaoyu. He hated that kind of human emotion.

The blade turned and slashed out again.

The Star Fist was cut apart. Progenitor Chen knew that he would not survive this exchange. He had simply wanted to throw that one punch.

Yet the next moment, the scenery before his eyes changed. A woman now stood beside him: Lu Hui.

“Senior, are you alright?” She had teleported to take Progenitor Chen away.

He shouted sharply, “Go now!”

In the distance, Hong Xia sneered and raised his sword. Teleportation? If not for his hesitation to break Obscura’s rules, not even Lu Yin would have been able to escape from the range of Hong Xia’s attacks, much less a mere child.

The sword slashed down.

Progenitor Chen threw another punch, releasing the Star Fist again.

The sword cut through Progenitor Chen, removing one arm. The attack continued past him, killing Lu Hui who stood behind him.

Progenitor Chen’s severed arm fell away, yet he had no time to care about that. He instead watched as Lu Hui collapsed, utterly dead.

So what if one could teleport? Anyone who participated in this war had to die.

Hong Xia raised his sword again. His previous strike had always been aimed at Lu Hui. A mere junior who could teleport disgusted him. His next strike would end the man before him.

To the Trio, this war was a disaster that would bring about extinction, but to Hong Xia’s eyes, it was all just a game. A game to exact revenge on those who had dared to scheme against him.

A shrill cry suddenly rang out. Hong Xia abruptly looked in one direction. Is that... a Plume Immortal?

Far away, karma could be seen rising straight into the heavens and instantly enveloping the Tianyuan.

A Plume Immortal rose up as well. It was Nan Ling.

Right behind Nan Ling was Greater Sancte Green Lotus.

In the end, Mister Mu had released the Crimson Lotus Tomb.

Hong Xia stared into the distance in a daze, but then he sneered. These humans were actually so foolish. Previously, they had gone to great efforts to seal Nan Ling away, only to release the bird on their own. They had truly reached the end of the road.
