"Alright then, be on your way. I'll consider joining your organization if you can offer me good pay and guaranteed protection," Nurse Lucy said.
"Okay, I'll talk to my father about you," I replied. "See you then, Nurse Lucy. Take care of little Takeshi."
"Fufu, of course. I'll take good care of this young, handsome man~ Close the door once you leave; I'll be examining him~" Nurse Lucy giggled.
"Okay... please don't do anything weird," I sighed.
"What could I possibly do to this young, sinful man?" she laughed.
I quickly closed the door and walked away.
…I think I understand why Lucifer likes this world so much now.
Back in the classroom, I found Teacher Iris instructing the students. She glanced at me with a smile that seemed to say something unspoken, then let me sit down and resumed her lesson.
She's as strange as Noah—maybe even stranger. If not for her fluffy fox ears and tail, she'd look just like Agatheina.
What kind of vampire has fox features? She's truly peculiar. I wonder where those traits even come from. Wasn't she human before?
Well, whatever the case, I focused and absorbed everything she taught.
At the end of class, we had a surprise exam. Half the students groaned in protest.
Still, it was too easy. I finished first and scored perfectly, surprising everyone. They praised me for both my beauty and intelligence.
Huh, I can see why some girls might be jealous of me now...
During lunch, I chatted with my wives about the exam invitations and other matters.
"Then I guess the one who should go is obviously Nesiphae," said Brontes. "If we're heading to a place where her daughter is…"
"And Zehe too, guuu!" Rimuru nodded. "Ryo's over there too, right?"
"Yeah, I was thinking about that," I said. "Actually, my dad told me there are no strict rules about how you get an invitation letter. If we find someone who was invited and take their letter before the event starts, you can go too."
"Huh, interesting. But where do we even begin?" Brontes asked. "Do you know of any places where people were invited?"
"I overheard Medea mention that some Yakuza families received invitations," I said. "Weak ones, mostly. I think they were chosen specifically so others would target and eliminate them. We got a report recently about an entire Yakuza clan that received letters and was wiped out by a single man."
"Huh, interesting~" Nesiphae nodded.
"Okay, we can do that, guu!" Rimuru said. "We can disguise ourselves anyway!"
"Alright then, thanks for being understanding, girls. I'll go check on Frank now," I said.
"Sure, go ahead," Brontes replied, munching on chips. "I already have a trial prepared for him... should I use it?"
"If he accepts the invitation, sure," I smiled. "Frank needs to go through plenty of trials to stay motivated."
As I approached Frank, he greeted me with a gentle smile. Matsuo looked happy to see me too.
"Yo, Kireina, what's up?" he said casually.
"Hey Matsuo, I'm here to 'hang out' like Frank asked," I replied.
"Ah, thanks. Your friends don't mind? They can join if they want—"
"No!"
Harumi and Erika cut him off before he could finish. They barely tolerated me, and there was no way they'd accept four more.
"Huh? What's gotten into you?" Frank sighed. "W-Well, anyway... about earlier, I'm really sorry. Erika, will you please apologize too?"
"What? Why?" Erika snapped. "If anything, Kireina, why didn't you say you were from the Underworld too?!"
"Hm?" I asked, smiling. "What are you talking about?"
"Don't play dumb. That movement... there's no way a normal human could move like that," Erika said.
"We're tasked with regulating anyone from the Underworld. This is our joint territory," Harumi added.
"Our families, she means. We don't own the place ourselves," Matsuo clarified. "So, what's your family, Kireina? I don't sense any hostility from you, so you can't be evil."
"Ah... well, I guess the cat's out of the bag," I sighed. "Yes, I'm a descendant of a Darkwood Fae family from Europe. I awakened my abilities recently."
"Oh, you're like Elfina!" Erika gasped. "Makes sense. Sometimes people awaken bloodlines they didn't even know they had... like Frank, kind of."
"Haha..." Frank laughed awkwardly. "Yeah, I still remember when Harumi almost killed me because she thought I was a spy."
"I already said I was sorry..." Harumi looked genuinely remorseful. "Ugh."
She glanced at her phone, rolled her eyes, and answered it.
"Yeah, Mom... what? He's coming today? He's already in Tokyo?! Why didn't you tell me…"
She kept talking, then sighed again.
"Okay, I'll be nice. Fine, fine."
After ending the call, she groaned.
"Sorry, it was my mom."
"What's wrong?" Frank asked.
"My big brother's coming to visit today. He said he's staying indefinitely," Harumi said.
"Big brother?!" Erika gasped. "You never told me you had a big brother! No way!"
"He's adopted, like me," Harumi explained. "His name's Mammon. He's a half-Devil."
"Pfff...! Mammon, you say?!" I spat out the juice I was drinking, splashing it on Matsuo's back. "Ah, sorry…"
"What's wrong? Don't tell me you know my brother?" Harumi raised an eyebrow. "There's no way. He's been managing a branch in America for a while…"
"Uuh, well... I know a guy online..." I muttered nervously. "But it might not be him, hahah…"
No way.
Mammon is Harumi's brother?!
What are the odds?!
"What do you mean you know someone named Mammon online? That's a seriously demonic name," Erika said. "There's no way there are two guys named that...!"
"Hm, well, whatever," Hiromi shrugged.
"No, not whatever! Tell us more about your brother!" Matsuo said. "I had no idea you had a big bro, Hiromi! I always thought you were an only child. I remember you saying that before…"
"I mean, I've only met him like three times in my life. He's my mom's previously adopted son, and he's about two hundred years old now," Hiromi sighed. "He's definitely not a child anymore... but from what I remember, he always acted like a spoiled brat. Since he was her first child, Mom spoiled Mammon a lot. She was stricter with me so I'd grow into someone more respectable and not bring shame to the family."
"I don't know why, but the more you talk about your brother, the more it sounds like you don't like him..." Frank said. "Come on, Hiromi. Family is family, right?"
"I mean... I guess so," Hiromi sighed. "We haven't spent much time together, so we didn't bond as much as I would've liked. But... we get along just barely."
