Chapter 2837 - 2838: What Can These Hands Grasp?

"H-How…! How dare…! How dare you…?!"

The Great Ancestor trembled, her hands shaking as she stared at the bodies of the Six Elders. Two of them lay lifeless, impaled by sharp golden-and-black spears that had shot from Kireina's armor like deadly spikes. The other four were gravely wounded, bleeding heavily.

Each Elder had been at the peak of the World Devourer Realm, yet Kireina had dispatched them in an instant—and the two deaths had not been accidental. She hated them. Her powers responded to her thoughts, and the ones who had gravely harmed Frank and Erika were the ones she could not forgive.

"A-Ahh…! Aaaahhh! No…!" Matsuo screamed in horror as he saw his clan's castle in ruins and countless people lying on the ground. Two Elders were dead, the other four dying. "K-Kireina…! What…! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!"

"I was trying to protect you!" Kireina shouted. "I…!"

"You…! You betrayed my trust! You're a monster…! You're a demon!" Matsuo cried, tears streaming down his face in rage. "WHAT HAVE I DONE TO YOU TO DESERVE THIS?! TO MY FAMILY…! TO MY LEGACY?!"

"I haven't done anything wrong! They tried to kill all of us out of nowhere! WHAT SORT OF LEGACY IS BUILT ON SUCH COLD, SENSELESS SLAUGHTER?!" Kireina protested.

"You dare criticize my beloved family?! We are the guardians of Japan!" Matsuo roared. "Who…! Just WHAT are you?!"

"Matsuo, calm down!" Frank said. "Kireina is not evil—I'm sure of it! I know she's not evil, I…!"

"What do you even know about her, Frank?! You've barely met her!" Matsuo snapped. "She really was manipulating us…! I see it now. She's a monster who tried to infiltrate our clan. Unforgivable! It's all my fault… all my fault that two Clan Elders are dead…!"

"T-This is getting out of control. I don't know what's happening anymore…!" Harumi trembled, utterly confused. "I-I want to go home…! I don't belong here anyway!"

"Harumi, wait!" Frank called. "We can't split up now—we have to stay together!"

"Ugh…!" Erika groaned, barely conscious as Kireina rapidly healed her. "Kireina… is this really your true form? You don't even look our age…"

"I…!" Kireina's lips trembled. She shook her head, finally realizing that pretending to be an ordinary student had never been the right choice. "I suppose I was wrong… about many things…"

She had thought she could keep living like this, enjoying a childhood she never had.

Although she had a clear mission, Kireina had truly wanted to make real friends and create memories that would last forever.

But at that moment, she understood that this chaotic world—no, this chaotic universe—would never allow it.

As long as she was who she was, everything would eventually crumble and slip through her fingers like sand.

She would never be able to hold on to anything.

A titanic being gazed at her with golden eyes framed by gigantic eyelashes.

Its face alone spanned over five hundred meters.

This was the kaiju-like scale of the gods of this world.

And the goddess looking down at Kireina right now was the Empress of them all.

"Amaterasu?!"

"Judgement shall be served. The Spawns of Chaos must be purged!"

"Wait…!"

RUMBLE!

Before Kireina could even try to speak, a gigantic palm over a kilometer wide descended toward her and the entire clan territory.

"T-This is…!"

TRUUUMMM!!!

Unable to evade such an immense attack, Kireina was instantly slammed downward with explosive force. The ground beneath her shook, cracked, and seemed to vanish amid endless white and golden light.

"Nnngghaaaaa!"

Kireina screamed in agony as her body trembled and began to disintegrate. Dozens of protective barriers flared around her. A giant nebula of countless stars formed from black miasma, chaos, blood, sunlight, dreams, and nightmares erupted outward. The emptiness of the void pulsed and distorted space around her.

"W-What is this pressure?! It's enormous! And this is just her hand?! What Realm is she in?!"

She was certainly a monster far beyond the Star Eater Realm, perhaps even beyond Nebula—or at its absolute pinnacle!

The ground beneath Kireina continued to shatter under the unrelenting pressure, the light growing stronger with every passing second.

Kireina knew that if she did nothing now, she would die.

Amaterasu suddenly felt sharp pain spread through her hand. She watched in shock as a writhing mass of chaos emerged. Kireina's body transformed into a massive insect-like entity that began tearing through her divine flesh.

"YOU WANT A MONSTER?! I'LL GIVE YOU A MONSTER!"

"Gaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!"

Amaterasu screamed in agony as her hand was pierced by a massive black-and-dark-blue claw. Black miasma and chaos poured everywhere, shredding her flesh.

Kireina's Chaotic Aura formed countless jaws that began ripping the divine hand apart and devouring it.

Amaterasu instantly retracted her hand back to the Heavenly Realm in panic. Her eyes fired two beams of all-destroying cosmic sunlight.

BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!

Kireina was engulfed in explosions. She leaped away, landing on a large house and crushing it before soaring higher into the sky. Her wings transformed into giant cosmic ego maxima summon blades that sliced cleanly through the beams.

"You Monster!"

The Great Ancestor roared behind her, charging forward with blinding beams of sunlight and divinity that constantly bombarded Kireina's body. Kireina clicked her tongue, dodging the attacks that destroyed her armor and directly harmed her soul.

"I shall exorcise you right now!"

"Divine Heaven Sunlight Dominion!"

"The First Path."

"Nine Sun Realm!"
