Chapter 4008: Encounter
Schumak was one of the Space-Time Realm Experts from the Runia Continent during the Storm Wall test. Since the Runia Continent wasn’t allied to anyone, which was actually the case for the vast majority of the participants, no one really paid much attention to them.
At the end of the day, the Runia Continent only managed to get one Space-Time Realm Expert through the wall. Also, one Elemental Space Realm and two Space-Bending Realm experts.
Of course, that is not including those six Space-Bending Realm Experts from the Qufis Alliance that swapped places with the Runia Space-Time Realm Experts, aka the twins’ group.
The Space-Bending Realm Experts from Qufis, who attempted to enter the Future Realm under the Runia Continent’s banner, managed to get another four of the six of them through. They were very lucky, yes, but they also had all the support and experience from Qufis, which helped them massively.
Still, because they were under the Runia Continent’s Banner, they were considered experts from Runia.
Schumak, as the only Space-Time Realm Expert from Runia, was tasked to help protect the others with lower cultivations. At first, he wasn’t very interested in doing such a thing. He just wanted to take the opportunity to cultivate as much as possible. He was also in the Peak Stage of the Space-Time Realm, so reaching the Divinity Realm was his priority.
Fortunately for those with lower cultivation, the Runia Continent’s countries, especially the one Schumak came from, offered him a big reward if he kept an eye on the youngsters. Ximao was even more direct, since the youngsters also included those four Space-Bending Realm cultivators from Qufis.
Schumak considered his chances of reaching the Divinity Realm during this opening of the Future Realm. He knew that less than 2% of all Space-Time Realms would really manage to do it. Thus, after checking the promised rewards, he accepted the task and took charge of the youngsters.
Now, it has been over a thousand years since they started to cultivate. Schumak hasn’t managed to break through into the Divinity Realm yet, but he hasn’t had many issues either.
One of the advantages of being from such a small power was that no one really cared about you. The only powers that might cause problems for Schumak and his Runia Continent’s entourage were the groups from the surrounding continents around Runia. Considering the size of the Future Realm and the few continents that might have an interest in Runia, finding each other in the Future Realm wasn’t that easy. Even if they did, would they really fight for no reason? That was hard to believe.
So, Schumak’s group has had quite a peaceful cultivation time. It wasn’t like they didn’t have any challenges, of course. There were a few times that they were forced to flee or fight for other reasons, like some resources of the Future Realm. Nonetheless, it was never anything too serious. Schumak’s group truly made sure to stay the hell out of the way of any multicontinental group they found.
Things were going pretty well for Schumak’s group. All six Space-Bending Realm cultivators successfully reached the Elemental Space Realm, one of them even getting to the Late Stage after all this time. As for the only Elemental Space-Realm Expert of their group, a Demon Beast called Suvai, he too managed a breakthrough and was now a Space-Time Realm Initial Stage expert.
To resume it all, Runia’s small size has played in their favor so far.
---
Schumak was once again trying to reach the Divinity Realm, but he was having a hard time with the merge of his first two sub-laws. Just like outside, making this happen was easier said than done. However, before he made another push, his Divine Sense detected three experts quickly approaching, all three of them Space-Time Realm Initial Stage.
Schumak narrowed his eyes. If the enemy was all in the Initial Stage, then he wasn’t afraid. He definitely had a huge advantage by being in the Peak Stage of that same realm. "Get up! We have company. However, don’t attack first. It won’t make sense for them to attack us with their strength. They probably want something else."
Everyone stopped their cultivation, got up, and looked in the direction Schumak pointed. Soon, they noticed those three experts entering their sights and got ready for anything.
However, it was then that one of their members, a guy who was indeed from the Runia continent, exclaimed. "Wait! Aren’t those..."
Those three experts stopped in front of Schumak’s group, and the experts from Runia opened their eyes wide. The only ones who looked confused were the four cultivators from Qufis.
"Rean, Foliana, Kentucky!" Schumak came forward. He knew that the twins’ group had made it into the Future Realm since Ximao passed the information forward, but no one knew what happened to them after that. Ximao just said they were hiding and cultivating, and after a while, everyone gave up asking. Schumak never cared that much since, in his eyes, if the twins’ group was with him, he would have to take care of them as well. For him, it was good that they weren’t with him. Now, however, the situation was different.
"Sp-Space-Time Initial Stage!" Schumak’s words made everyone’s blood freeze!
"See?!" Rean pointed at Schumak. "I told you it was Senior Schumak, didn’t I? Hahaha!"
Kentucky looked surprised. "I thought I would never see our Runia Continent’s group again. We were quite lucky."
Foliana waved at Schumak. "Long time no see, Senior Schumak. How have you been?"
Schumak’s mouth twitched. Is that what they should be talking about? "Cut the bullshit! What the hell happened to you three?! You were all Space-Bending Realm Experts when you entered the Future Realm, and you were in the Middle Stage! How were you able to reach the Space-Time Realm so fast? Look at his kid from Qufis! He just barely reached the Late Stage of the Elemental Space Realm at the same time, and his cultivation was higher at first! The others are all in the Middle Stage!"
Rean scratched the back of his head. "Well, when you put it like that, it looks impossible indeed. However, Senior Schumak, you forgot that Kentucky and I are Level Five Golden Radiance talents, and Foliana here is a Level Four. Does it really look that impossible?"
"This..." Schumak went silent. Indeed, Rean’s group had the highest Golden Radiance of their generation by a vast margin. Outside the twins’ group, the best Golden Radiance was only a Level Two, so it goes without saying that they are much better.
"S...Still, to get to the Space-Time Realm Initial Stage... It is one thing to cultivate to the Limit of the Elemental Space Realm, but breaking through into the Space-Time Realm should have been much harder..." He still hasn’t forgotten that no more than 5% of those attempting to reach the Space-Time Realm would really manage to do so. And yet, Rean, Kentucky, and Foliana all succeeded.
"Oh, it definitely was!" Foliana nodded vigorously. "I failed three times! Can you believe it?! Three times, all my efforts were wasted!"
Rean and Kentucky nodded as well. "We failed twice. Senior Schumak is right. It was hard as fuck!"
Suvai, who had experienced hundreds of failures before he finally managed to enter the Space-Time Realm, almost vomited blood! ’Twice? Three Times? You came here to humiliate me, right? Right?!’ Of course, he didn’t say that aloud.
Schumak was just as ashamed. He, too, endured countless failures before succeeding many years ago. "A-Ahem... is that so? Then it is okay..."
Okay? Everyone looked at him, their expressions weird. If that’s just okay, what will their case be? No one voiced their thoughts, though.
"Anyway, did you even have the resources to cultivate to such a realm?" Schumak decided to change the topic before he started crying there.
Rean smiled and waved his hand.
*Zush!*
*Bang!*
It was then that a huge Divine Energy Vein fell to the ground. "See for yourselves."
Everyone’s shock only increased. "Divine Energy Vein!!!"
Rean nodded. "We found a deposit with several of those. That’s why we kept ourselves hidden all this time. It wasn’t worth the risk to come outside, so we simply stayed put and cultivated, nothing else."
"Rean, we can’t delay for much longer. Roan and the others are waiting," Kentucky warned on the side.
"Oh, right!" Rean nodded. Then, he waved his hand again, and another two giant veins fell on the ground. "Senior Schumak, we heard from Senior Ximao that you are responsible for the others. We will leave these veins here for you all to use. Just make sure to keep it hidden, as the knowledge of their existence will likely bring a lot of danger to your group. As for us, we will return to our hideout."
"Eh?!" Schumak, who was finding it hard to believe his eyes, turned his eyes away from the veins and back in Rean’s direction. "You aren’t staying? If you stay, protecting them will be a lot easier."
"We have our own plans," Rean said. "Anyway, we met by coincidence, so I can at least share with you some of the veins we found. I’ll contact you again in the future. Goodbye!"
Kentucky turned around, flapping his wings before controlling space and time. He shot into the distance at such speeds that even Schumak would find it hard to keep up, let alone the youngsters with him.
"Ah!" Schumal was speechless for a moment. Finally, he snapped out of his trance, taking his CD out. "I have to report this to Runia straight away!"
And that was exactly what Roan’s plan required. Rean, Foliana, and Kentucky suppressed their cultivations to the Initial Stage of the Space-Time Realm and made an appearance in front of the Runia Continent’s group. They planned to do it a few more times, with much higher cultivation each time they did it. The Divine Energy Veins were also shown on purpose. Truly, the Runia Continent’s countries would have no choice but to accept the twins’ group’s ridiculously fast cultivation speed... and especially their luck!
