Death… And Me

Chapter 4019: Runia’s Politics

Chapter 4019: Runia’s Politics

A few more years passed, and there were only ten left before the Future Realm closed. Nothing much happened after it. Qufis was left alone as always, and pretty much all powers had settled with their forces. What wasn’t possible to be achieved before will hardly change now.

In the Qufis Protection Formation, the twins’ group continued to cultivate. As Celis predicted before, they would at most reach the Late Stage of the Divinity Realm. However, because Rean and Kentucky had to stay out for longer and longer times while they helped Xyrath, a lot of cultivation time was lost.

That said, they were still in the Middle Stage, but they weren’t too far from the Late Stage.

As for Foliana and Tanxan, the barrier separating them from the Divinity Realm proved to be much harder than they expected. That’s considering they have the resources and Roan’s Tailor-Made Cultivation Technique, not to mention the Laws Pills, also from Roan. However, each attempt gave them more experience, and they could feel themselves getting closer and closer to merging their first Sublaws.

Suddenly, Rean received a call, taking his CD out to see who was contacting them. "Oh, senior Ximao. It had been a while since you called."

-Not really,- Ximao said. -Don’t forget that you are experiencing a much faster time than I. In my case, it hasn’t even been a decade yet. Well, it was definitely almost a thousand years for you.-

"That’s true," Rean nodded. "So, what are you calling us for?"

-Just to ask where your cultivation stopped. The countries here in the Runia Continent are all restless.-

Rean, Kentucky, and Foliana paid a visit to the Runia Continent’s Group several times, and every time they did, their cultivation was higher. The last visit, which was not even two hundred years ago, Rean and Kentucky showed their real cultivation, the Middle Stage of the Divinity Realm. Schumak obviously reported that to Runia. Thanks to that, they have no reason to hide anymore once the Future Realm closes.

"It’s because the realm is about to close, isn’t it?" Rean asked back. "Two hundred years couldn’t change much, even for us. Foliana and Tanxan are still stuck in the Peak Stage of the Space-Time Realm, while the rest of us are in the Middle Stage. Well, Roan, Kentucky, Celis, and I are getting pretty close to the Late Stage, but that will only happen way after the Future Realm ends."

-I see...- Ximao. -As I said, they are pretty restless. You are four Divinity Realm cultivators. Our entire Runia Continent has only fifteen of them, and the majority are in the Initial or Middle Stages. I won’t count myself since I’m kind of employed here.-

-Anyway, that is a huge power shift for a continent like Runia, especially since you aren’t really from here. Do you remember the countries you sided with to gain the chance to fight for the Future Realm’s slots? You would expect them to be happy that they got you in their books.-

-Yet, even they are a little apprehensive. Never had they imagined you would reach the Divinity Realm in a single opening of the Future Realm. They know your strength also surpasses those at the same realm, after all. Some are wondering if you four are going to try to take control over those countries backing you.-

"Hahaha!" Rean found that funny. "That’s hilarious. As you definitely know already, we have no intention of staying in the Runia Continent to start with. We truly couldn’t care less about who will take control of the continent in the future."

-That’s what I told them,- Ximao did know indeed. -They initially thought you would stay because they didn’t expect your cultivation to have such a big jump. Then they would help you and mold you into proper members of their countries. Now, however, that is out of the question. I told them that I doubted you would stay in Runia. Some were relieved, but others didn’t like the idea of their Future Realm slots being used and receiving nothing in the end.-

Suddenly, Roan jumped into the conversation. "There is an easy way to appease everyone. We can simply declare that we will leave Runia, but we will keep a connection with them. Something within the lines ’if Runia is ever in danger, contact us, and as long as we are in the same Universe, we will come back to help.’ That covers both sides, especially since none of them will believe we can leave the Universe."

-That’s a good way indeed. The resources they ’believe’ you used to get this far wouldn’t have been wasted for nothing. Alright, I will tell them and set up a negotiation table for when you come back.-

"Please do," Rean accepted the idea too.

The call ended, and Rean looked at Roan. "Are we truly going back there if things go south?"

Roan glanced at him. "Since I gave my word, I’m definitely following it through. Although the various countries in Runia had their own hidden agendas when they recruited us, it is still a fact that they helped us plenty. It would leave a bad taste if we gave nothing in exchange."

Rean smiled. "Rarely do I agree with you in these kinds of things, but you will hear no complaint from me this time."

Following that, Rean told the others about the conversation with Ximao, and no one saw any problems. If anything, the final decision fit their plans. And so, they restarted their cultivation.

Yet, not even a whole week passed when suddenly, Rean and Roan opened their eyes. They looked around and noticed that everyone was still busy with their own things. Cultivating, training, sparing, and such. No doubt, none of them detected anything.

However, Xyrath’s voice echoed from within the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. ’You guys, we have company.’

Kentucky and the others also stopped their cultivation. Kentucky quickly activated the Divine Sense Bending Skill, and he understood. ’What is he doing in here?’

Far away from there, at the Storm Wall, a passage suddenly opened. From inside, a long silver lance floated over, leading a man with sharp eyes. The twins’ group had seen him before entering the Future Realm. It was the Celestial Realm Sky-Whisper Mantis, Vuccu!
