Death… And Me

Chapter 4096: What About You?

Chapter 4096: What About You?

After an expert gets to the Space-Time Realm, they arguably become immortals. They won’t die unless some external factor kills them directly. Lifespan ceases to be an issue.

However, that didn’t mean nothing changed forever, especially after an expert reaches the Celestial Realm. From the moment you reach the Space-Time Realm, you are destined to ’lose your heart’ one day.

To be honest, that’s just a nice way of saying that you will eventually go crazy. In some cases, those experts went into a complete rampage, killing and destroying everything they could find.

Space-Time Realm and Divinity Realm weren’t as bad, though. This ’loss of heart’ happens many times slower for them, and you would be hard pressed to find any information of a single expert at those levels who lost their heart. It was much easier for them to die way earlier than that for other reasons.

Too bad that things get a lot dicer when you reach the Celestial Realm. The reason? Celestial Energy! You began to use an energy that is not from this world, and this accelerates the condition many times over. It’s just that Celestial Realm Experts were so, so much rarer that you seldom ever heard about this issue affecting them, either.

Still, the old experts, the ones approaching this threshold, generally can tell when it is coming. Of course, it still needs a ridiculous amount of time, but it does happen. Those who can grow old enough to reach this state are few and far between. Not even Roan’s master is anywhere near that moment yet.

However, the Werdlem Empire has existed for much, much longer than the Lisan Universe. The Werdlem Imperial Family has plenty of old monsters, including the Emperor.

There is a way to fight against the loss of heart, though.

Cultivation!

Just like cultivation increases your lifespan, it also delays the loss of heart condition. If not for the Celestial Energy, Celestial Realm Experts would actually take even longer than Space-Time and Divinities.

Unfortunately for Gin, the limit of this world is the Celestial Realm. Gin was already in the Peak Stage and had nowhere else to go. He had attempted to reach the next level, but ultimately failed.

Soza could tell why he wanted the God Blood so much. Usually, you would expect someone to use the God Blood to reach the Celestial Realm. It would give you a huge boost, increasing your connection to the Celestial Plane when you find a breach.

However, there was another way of using it. The God Blood could be offered in a special type of ritual to force a breakthrough. The results were nothing compared to a real breakthrough. In fact, it was quite bad, pretty much a deal-breaker for your future prospects... but that would give you the chance to go to the Celestial Plane.

Above all, if you were in Gin’s condition, it would give you time! So, you could understand Gin’s fixation with the God Blood, and everyone’s interest when they heard Gin speaking of it. As members of such a monumental power, many of them had the conditions to live for a very long time. The vast majority still died before that time arrived, but it wasn’t as ridiculous as not being part of the Werdlem Family.

Secretly, these members of the Werdlem Imperial Family already begun to send messages to their subordinates to investigate the twins’ group, to find them at all costs.

Soza only needed one look around to understand everyone’s thoughts. "I don’t mind if all of you go after them. In fact, that is good since we need to find out how they got to the Terminarch’s body and to check if that soul was truly the Terminarch’s. However, I’m warning you all. If you do anything to harm the Empire and especially the Bubble, don’t blame me for what will happen."

Everyone felt a chill on their backs. They made a mental note to also try to fulfill the Emperor’s wishes. If they could get both the Blood and the answers, that would be best. They knew the Emperor wouldn’t ask for the God Blood for himself. Why? Because Soza has already surpassed the Celestial Realm. He doesn’t need to rely on that kind of method.

Soza returned his attention to Gin. "I get your desperation, but you should have noticed the moment you got to that formation that it was something important, especially since you were not aware of it. Now, everyone knows about it since the Terminarch’s body isn’t there anymore. If you had instead contacted us the moment you thought Havira got inside, we could have reinforced that place and prevented the body from being taken."

"Even worse, because of what you did, we had invaders getting directly inside our Imperial Palace. The only good thing that came out of it is that we now know the invaders have some way of using the Abyssal Paths without the Shifters, so we can be prepared next time."

"Even now, you can’t be certain that they didn’t use your entrance to get inside the formation. You said you would have noticed, but if you were being watched, would the enemy really show themselves? Wouldn’t they be prepared? Or better, they knew they had that Vial of God Blood."

"According to your report, you found Havira after she teleported to C44. Until that moment, you haven’t found her anywhere else, despite having looked everywhere for that Golden Crow for so many years, using our Empire’s resources on top of that.

Doesn’t it look too much of a coincidence? Have you ever considered the possibility that she made herself seen on purpose to attract you? That she knew Toxa was captured by you? To make you open a gap in the formation with your Werdlem Family Blood?"

Gin was taken aback. "This..."

Poor guy. One couldn’t blame the emperor for thinking like that. In the end, it was indeed nothing but a coincidence that Gin found them there. They opened a gap in the formation by themselves before Gin even arrived. It’s just that Gin couldn’t prove it, making it look like he was the main reason. Gin himself began to wonder if that was truly the case.

The Emperor finally made his decision. "Let’s end it here. Gin is to be confined in his residence for the next two million years."

Gin’s eyes opened wide! Probably only death would be worse than that. Soza was basically cutting his remaining time with a proper mind by 4/5. "But-"

Soza cut his words. "I can also kill you right now and save us the trouble of having to deal with you when you go crazy. Would you prefer that instead? I’m still giving you five hundred thousand years to find something to save yourself after that."

Gin stopped, and after a long internal struggle, he bowed. "As the emperor wishes."

Soza nodded, looking at the guard on the back. "Take him back."

Gin was taken away, leaving just one more person in the room to be heard. Soza’s expression was still dark. "Now, what about you, Fila?"
