Death… And Me

Chapter 4191: Who Were Them?

Chapter 4191: Who Were Them?

It took a while for Norogal to convince his daughter to go, but she eventually accepted.

The plan was very simple: Celis was tasked with staying with the Primordial Demon Beasts and Norogal, while the rest of the twins’ group would go to F974. Once there, it would be possible to bring the Primordial Beasts to F974 by using Celis and the connection through the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm.

Rean approached the Female Abyssal Beast, smiling at the big girl. "There is no need to worry about us. If anyone tries to bother you, I’ll beat them. All you need to do is open the Abyssal Paths and protect me while we cross it. That’s all."

Naragal answered in a low voice. "O-Okay..."

Rean turned to Norogal, who nodded back at him. Right after, Rean touched Naragal’s body and pulled the Female Abyssal Beast into the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm.

"Alright, let’s not waste more time," Roan spoke from there. "Now that the Empire has acted, there is a good chance they might be able to find where the Primordial Beasts are located in F974. The ones with us won’t be detected inside the Abyssal Path, but those in F974 can’t rely on the same method."

Rean and Kentucky nodded. Soon, Norogal sent them out of the Abyssal Path, and the twins’ group once again appeared in the Great Void.

Thankfully, Nyxara had already covered most of the distance to A1, so the twins could travel the rest with Kentucky. The Minokawa opened a Spatial Gate while Rean checked the CD, and the two of them left. Roan, obviously, simply returned to the Dimensional Realm.

Back in the secret location of the Werdlem Empire, Soza, Rafina, and Latifi watched as the tear in front of them emitted powerful fluctuations. Those fluctuations were not made of any energy they could use, but they understood it. Had Default been here, he would also have identified those fluctuations to be the power of The Echo.

Soza didn’t look happy while he watched that scene, though. "What is happening? Why is it taking so long?"

One of his subordinates on the terminals behind, a man called Grutou, had a nervous expression. "It’s Default, Xyrath, Laiana, Hyeoumu, Hick, and Nyxara. Initially, we were able to extract their essences and primordial laws. However, even though we can still do it now, it is much, much slower. There is something blocking the Bubble’s absorption powers."

Soza turned back. "Blocking? We are using The Origin to latch on to them. How can something block it? Nothing should be able to stop The Origin now that we have started. Wait, are you telling me they left the Werdlem Empire?"

While Default called that power The Echo, the Werdlem Empire obviously didn’t know about it. In their case, they called it The Origin, as they at least knew it was the power that gave birth to everything, including the Primordial Beasts.

Grutou shook his head in response. "No. They are definitely in the Werdlem Empire still. As I said, something is blocking us, but the Bubble still can absorb some of their essences and primordial laws. If they were out, we wouldn’t be able to do it at all. It’s just that this is far from enough. We need to take everything from all the Primordial Beasts at once."

Someone else joined, a spirit called Kafuna. "Senior Soza, this is truly too early. We really should have waited another two cycles at least. In this way, those beasts can always recover, and there will be a conflict in the primordial laws we have here."

Soza’s expression was ugly. "Do you think I don’t know that?"

Soza turned to the tear again, thinking about how it all reached this point.

The Primordial Demon Beasts didn’t know, but their constant loss of essence and primordial laws had been feeding a very complex formation that acted on that tear.

Few knew about that tear in space, which was used to interact with The Echo. It was found out by the Werdlem Empire a long time ago. One of the secrets of the Werdlem Empire was that this place was selected as their home after this tear was found, not before. The Werdlem Universe was located somewhere else back then, and it wasn’t that big a power to start with.

With its discovery, both the Werdlem Empire Experts in the Great Void and the few experts they had in the Celestial Plane worked together to build this formation. Eventually, they understood that the power within was the same as the one that created the Great Void and Primordial Demon Beasts.

Thus, a bold plan was created. The Werdlem Empire moved all its Universes to this location as they developed their strength to new heights, and they intended to defend this tear until they found a way to control it.

Unfortunately, the most they got from it after a very long time was just the capability of causing a few ripples in nearby areas. They couldn’t control it at all.

It wasn’t all for nothing, though. During their research into this power, the Werdlem Empire created several special items, known as the Werdlem Treasures! Yes, the same Werdlem Treasures that could now be found in the Lisan Universe! Of course, as mentioned before, those treasures could also be found in other powers of the Great Void. Yet, it was impressive that Lisan had that many alone.

But then, why didn’t the Werdlem Empire show a single one of those treasures? They had amazing capabilities, capabilities that could make even Peak Stage Celestials powerless if used by the right experts.

The reason was the proximity to the tear. That tear, The Echo’s power, nullified the treasures’ abilities, making them useless in the Werdlem Empire. That’s how these treasures ended up spreading through the Great Void before the Werdlem Empire ’disappeared’ one day. These treasures had no use in the Empire itself.

Back to the main topic, the Werdlem Empire failed to take control of The Echo. However, they did identify something from their experiments: new laws! Those laws weren’t present in any of the known laws of the Werldem Empire. Fortunately for them, the experts in the Celestial Plane eventually found out about those laws. Those were the primordial laws Default mentioned.

Not only that, they found out up there that they could be used to control The Echo, and eventually control the entire Great Void. But for that, they would need to use the original source of those primordial laws. Who were they? The Primordial Demon Beasts!
