Chapter 4247: The Arrays
From seven different positions, the Godly Predators stepped out, increasing the Godly Pressure on all the cultivators in the front lines. The various Godly Creatures around them gave space, making it actually pretty easy to identify the Predators. Of course, no one came out to attack them in the midst of the Godly Creature mobs.
Those at the Anchor God Realm and Celestial Realm were the ones who suffered the most with the arrival of the Godly Predators. Even those who were used to this felt their combat power weakening even further. Compared to their original strength, they had at least 20% of it restricted. It somehow resembled the twins’ Yin Yang Cultivation Unbalance Domain, which weakened the enemies. It’s just that the Godly Pressure didn’t reduce one’s cultivation, just made it harder to use.
However, no one was panicking. That’s because the moment those Predators came out, so did the Zone Gods of the Besgol Region in that battlefield.
*Wowww!*
Eleven Zone Gods took flight, and the cheers rose from the cultivators below.
The Predators still had no intelligence, so they didn’t care about the Zone Gods.
*Roar!*
They all roared together, and the mobs of Godly Creatures charged even faster, all in one single wave.
"Sect Master..." Clayton suddenly said.
The twins looked at the man at the front, the one Werkitt mentioned to be closest to becoming a Law God in the Besgol Region. He looked pretty young, although everyone knows that cultivation can easily cover countless years of life. "So that’s Kavile..."
Clayton looked excited. "We were quite lucky. To think our battlefield would have our Sect Master overseeing it. You never know where the Godly Subjugation Guild will send the Zone Gods of our Besgol Region."
"Hum?" Rean turned to him. "They also must go where the Guild says?"
"Yes," Clayton confirmed. "The Guild oversees the entire region and is a neutral organization. All powers accept it as the highest authority as its only objective is to keep the region safe. Thus, whatever the guild decides is always done with the region’s best interest in mind. The fact that all the leaders of all other organizations follow the Guild’s orders without complaining shows you just how much trust the Guild holds."
Roan nodded slightly. "You did mention before we came that we would see why internal struggle is almost nonexistent in Besgol. Now I can see why. Besgol simply has no time for it. No one can afford it. With how many Godly Creatures there are and assaults coming at any moment, the region must stay united at all costs."
And Clayton agreed. "Yes. Internal strife will only bring everyone’s destruction. If the region falls, few would be able to flee and survive long enough to reach another region. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen. As long as you are an intelligent life form, you will have greed in your heart. But in the face of simple survival, even greed pales in importance. Any organization that tries to cause real harm to others in Besgol will have all the rest ganging up on it until nothing is left. Everyone agrees with this one ultimate term."
---
The Godly Predators also charged forward, but the Zone Gods didn’t move. They let the Predators and the wave of Godly Spawns and Beasts get closer first. Finally, Kavile’s eyes lit up, and he gave the orders. "Increase the support and protective arrays’ power to the 80%!"
Rean watched as the various arrays along the front lines began circulating even more Celestial Energy. They covered the cultivators, directly increasing their strength and defenses. At the same time, they assaulted the Godly Creatures, slowing them significantly. There were also slaughtering arrays that attacked the weaker Godly Spawns, but those were not many. From the looks of it, the energy expenditure of those arrays wasn’t worth having many of them.
The Predators seemed immune to any of those Arrays, though. However, the Zone Gods were already expecting it, and they charged at them.
The twins saw the Zone Gods deploying their Domains, and it was the first time they saw the so-called special effects of those Domains, something that didn’t exist in the Great Voids.
"Those Domains... they seem to create something similar to the Godly Pressure that the Godly Creatures use," Rean commented.
"Yes," Roan noticed that too. "And they take different effects based on the Domain owner. Kavile’s Domain is obviously a Lightning-based one focused on attack power. The special effect his Domain gained is charging up the Domain’s area, allowing his Lightning Element to move more freely as he wishes."
That and several other special effects could be seen.
Still, the Godly Predators were no weaklings. Their own Godly Pressure acted as a shield against the Domain of the cultivators. You could say that the Godly Pressure was the Predator’s own Domains, although they carried no special effects.
That was also good, though. When the Godly Creatures focused their Godly Pressure to counteract the Domains, the pressure obviously decreased on all the other cultivators. That made the cultivators grow even stronger against the other Godly Creatures.
Eleven Zone Gods against seven Godly Predators, and the Predators seemed to be holding their own.
Too bad that the lack of intelligence and the teamwork of those Zone Gods slowly shifted the situation in the cultivator’s favor. Still, one can only wonder how much more terrifying these Godly Predators would be if they had intelligence and had the same numbers.
"Their battle is interesting to watch, but we don’t have time now," Roan said, catching Clayton’s attention.
Only then did he see that the ’sea opening’ happened again, and this time, a lot more Godly Spawn passed through.
Clayton turned to the other members of their platoon, and everyone prepared for the fight. The other guides and new ascenders knew that it would be even harder now.
However... "So now they are shifting the Arrays, uh? Seems like they already got to see what they wanted during the first sea opening," Rean said with a smile.
As he said that, part of the power of the Arrays in the front lines covered the new cultivators and ascenders on the back. Everyone could feel their strength increasing with the support of those arrays.
Roan’s Crystal Void Scythes appeared again. "This is good enough. Now that all the rookies, including us, have gotten to feel the Godly Creature’s strengths, the losses should be minimal with the Arrays’ support." Then, he charged at a Godly Creature that came running at him.
’Red Death, Death Cross!’
This time, Roan did cleave all the way through the Godly Spawn, and that was with it trying to defend itself. It’s just that the support of the Arrays truly gave a huge boost to everyone there, and Roan was no different.
’Red Death, Crimson Stellar Piercer!’
Rean’s Crystal Void Swords pierced through the skull of another Godly Spawn that tried to strike Roan’s back. The power was so much higher that Rean created two big holes on that Godly Spawn’s head from one side to another, much different from before when he barely managed to pierce and kill it. "I like these Arrays very much!"
