Chapter 4259: Everyone Must Know
In the main hall of the Godly Subjugation Guild, various experts gathered, a space closed to anyone not invited. At the center, there was the body of a dead man, who looked somewhat gray with a tinge of golden color. Various terrible injuries could be seen on his body, but they all looked old.
That dead man was none other than the person emitting Godly Pressure. Even now, there was a little bit coming from him, although anyone could tell it was getting weaker and that it would disappear soon.
Suddenly, the doors on the back opened, and two experts walked inside. One was a Demon Beast from the Arctic Arcurio Race, a type of Divine Demon Bird. The other was a man with several facial scars and bald. He used a long red robe with several intricate patterns, like a monk. Well, he was a monk.
Those two were Arcis and Tobao, the only two Law Gods of the Besgol Region.
They approached the dead man’s body and could also feel the Godly Pressure coming from within his body. "So this is the guy you reported, uh... Didn’t you say you captured him alive?"
Kavile, the Wangamiglia Sect Master, was also there. "I wasn’t here when he was taken down, but it seems like it was quite problematic to defeat him, and he only had an Anchor God Realm cultivation. However, just a few minutes after they brought him here, he simply died. He didn’t say anything at all until that moment either."
Arcis narrowed his eyes. "Didn’t the report say you needed various Zone Gods to finally put him down? How could he be an Anchor God?"
"Everyone," a woman spoke at that moment. "I think we shouldn’t consider him a cultivator. There is no way an Anchor God could have done what he did. Also, we have already finished checking his body. This guy didn’t die today. His body has been dead for at least a few months."
"Was it a Godly Creature?" Tobao asked this time.
"It can’t be, right?" The leader of the Fontifho Sect, Limiu, doubted that. "This area of the Celestial Plane doesn’t have any Godly Apexes, let alone Godly Tyrants or Godly Colossi. Godly Creatures have a small chance of having an adult’s intelligence at Level Six, Godly Tyrant. And only at Level Seven, Godly Colossi, are they guaranteed to have intelligence on par with ours."
"Level five ones, Godly Apexes, don’t have intelligence, and we can’t find anyone in here. Level four, Godly Horros, have always been the limit. If a Godly Creature were truly controlling this body, it must be a Godly Tyrant at the very least. Do you believe in the existence of Godly Tyrants, or even Godly Colossi in our area?"
Everyone went silent. It was very hard to believe such creatures existed in the area around the Besgol Region.
"We can’t be certain, no?" But then, Arcis spoke. "You just need to take a quick look at the map to understand the obvious. 90% of the Godly Creatures’ territories are uncharted. We don’t show big patches of black color on the map just because it looks cool. Can anyone here truly guarantee that higher-level Godly Creatures don’t exist deeper into the Godly Creature Zones?"
Tobao had his doubts. "But if they do... why would they make an appearance just now?"
"You are all missing the point here," Clasou, the Master of the Godly Subjugation Guild in Besgol Region, pointed out. Just like Kavile, he was a Peak Stage Zone God. "The problem is that, even if indirectly, a Godly Creature was roaming inside the Sacred Relic’s Influence undetected. Our Relic obviously detected the presence of this controlled dead body. However, it only happened while he was already inside our city."
"According to our investigations, his name was Fafao, and he had been missing for years. Whatever was controlling him used Fafao’s ID to return inside the Sacred Relic Influence, and we were none the wiser. He was obviously exerting a huge amount of Godly Pressure when we found him, but only then. I don’t care if it was a Godly Colossi or a Godly Spawn. What did he do that we didn’t detect him earlier?"
Everyone was silent. Little did they know they only found this guy because Roan needed some extra Godly Crystals... Nonetheless, the implications were huge. Could there be more of these guys in the Besgol Region?
The Sacred Relic was what kept the Godly Creatures out. Of course, it didn’t really bar their passage. Otherwise, the hordes would never attack the borders. It just made them grow weaker the closer they got. Thus, they gathered in hordes to make up for the loss of overall strength.
It wasn’t an intelligent action, but more of an instinctual move that you would easily see even in the normal animal world. There is strength in numbers.
The Relics assured the Regions’ continuation, but just barely. If enough Godly Creatures attacked at once, even the Relic would fail to make a difference. That was also another reason for hordes to gather, as the weakening effect wasn’t as big when there were a lot of them at once.
For example, during the previous assault, the Godly Creatures were weakened by around 30%. Had it been a single or just a few Godly Creatures, that weakening effect would probably have reached 40 to 50%. The Relics were that important.
This obviously caused the various leaders in this room to worry. If the Godly Creatures could enter and get close to the Sacred Relic through this method...
"This guy, who looked to be nothing but an Anchor God, lasted a long time against various Zone Gods. We must think of a way of detecting these kinds of controlled dead bodies," Kavile said. "We should activate the long-distance communicator and warn all the other regions around about it. Perhaps some of them already know about this thing and have some idea of how to find these impostors."
No one was against Kavile’s idea. The long-distance communication array needed a lot of Godly Crystals to work just for a brief moment. That’s why it was activated only once every 15 days to keep the regions in contact with one another. But during emergencies, they could obviously activate it again to let the others know of something important.
Tobao made up his mind. "Check everyone involved with the maintenance of the Sacred Relic. Also, activate the communicator array. We need to let everyone know."
*Bang!*
At that moment, the door of the room was slammed open, and a member of the guild rushed inside with a box in his hands. "Sir, we just received something you must take a look at!"
Clauso narrowed his eyes and took the box that the guy was holding. Opening it, he found an item that looked like a Godly Crystal, but not quite. "What is this thing?"
That... was the Crystal that Roan had stolen!
