Chapter 4275: One Extra

As Roan picked off the stragglers, he found one he wasn’t expecting. ’A Godly Beast? So even they can move far from their groups when there are enough of them, uh?’

The Godly Beast was definitely much stronger, so Roan approached with care. He couldn’t control energy outside of his body since he wasn’t in the Aura God Realm yet. That said, he couldn’t use the Light Bending or Sense Bending Skill yet.

That wasn’t a problem, of course. Roan knew how to hide from the enemy, especially in a dense forest like this one. The Godly Beast couldn’t even see Roan’s shadow, and before it could do anything, Roan was already in the tree right above it.

Godly Energy accumulated on his legs, and Roan dropped down. The branch he was standing on became the support as he shot downward.

’Red Death, Death Cross!’

His Crystal Void Scythe shone in the last moment, Red Dark Lighting circulating inside. It wasn’t before it was already at the Godly Beast’s Neck that the sound of the attack spread.

One clean cut, one head flying off. Before the other Godly Spawns could even turn their heads in the sound’s direction, Roan had already kicked the body of the dead Godly Beast and sped away into the shadows. The Godly Beast died without a single Godly Spawn or other Godly Beast seeing how it happened.

On the other side, Fonken also took down another Godly Spawn, and he was quite pleased with his work. Now and then, the Godly Creatures looked in the direction Roan was working, and Fonken used that chance to strike. The lightning sound just now was another example.

Fonken was taken aback. ’A Godly Beast separated from the group? Well, now we know there are exactly twenty-two of them, twenty-one with the one you killed. With this many, it makes sense one or another could wander too far for their own good.’

’Indeed,’ Roan agreed. ’It was a good surprise. How about you?’

’17 Godly Spawns,’ Fonken responded. ’I thought my shadow spear technique was good for this kind of operation, but it seems like you are even better.’

’We are both Dark Element users, so the biggest difference comes from the level of our weapons. Nothing beats a Stage Seven Crystal Void Weapon,’ Roan explained. ’In any case, the luck factor also plays its part here. Perhaps there were simply more stragglers on my side than there were on yours.’

’That’s true,’ Fonken agreed again. ’Let’s keep this going. If you get spotted by the other Godly Creatures, run as fast as you can to not attract them too far. It is not the time to separate this group yet.’

’Understood.’

Perhaps it was because these two were rare humanoids with Dark Element affinity, but they seemed to understand each other’s intentions pretty well. They even wondered if it would really have been bad if they had tried to fight together. However, the idea would not be tested today as the plan was set.

One last Godly Spawn fell, and Roan contacted Fonken this time. ’It is taking too long for the stragglers to appear, and they aren’t wandering too far anymore.’

’Agreed,’ Fonken felt the same. ’We got rid of over two-thirds of the Godly Spawns, though. Too bad the Goly Beasts are really weary with the bodies of the Godly Spawns appearing nonstop. Not a single one of them wandered far from the rest anymore after you took one of them down.’

’Can’t be helped,’ Roan continued. ’They still don’t have intelligence, but they have better instincts and experience. Anyway, let’s make an appearance. My guys have already prepared the trap on my side.’

’Same here,’ Fonken confirmed. ’Make sure to act at the same time as me. If all the Godly Beasts go after one of us only, that won’t work.’

This time, there was no silence from either Roan nor Fonken. They came crashing down on a Godly Spawn each, their attacks carrying momentum and creating a lot of noise.

*BOOM!*

*KABRUMM!*

The Godly Beasts and the remaining Godly Spawns looked to both sides, and they saw Fonken and Roan.

*ROAR!*

The Godly Beasts and Spawns roared, and they immediately shot after Fonken and Roan... or so it was supposed to.

*Rawr!*

However, at that moment, a much lower roar came from the center of the Godly Beasts, making the Beasts and Spaws stop in their tracks.

Roan and Fonken also stopped, as they had just started to run to separate the group. They were still in the Godly Beasts’ sight, but they only growled and didn’t move.

’What is happening?’ Roan asked through the RC.

’No idea,’ Fonken said, narrowing his eyes.

Are they holding themselves back? Roan and Fonken thought at the same time, but that didn’t seem like something Godly Beasts would think about.

It was then that the Godly Beasts opened way, and a much smaller Godly Creature, which looked like a wolf with spiked golden fur, walked from the center. The moment it did, the Godly Pressure in the area nearly doubled!

’Shit!’

Roan and Fonken didn’t need to look at it twice. They had felt this kind of Godly Pressure increment before when the Godly Creatures attacked the mainland.
