Chapter 4274: Fonken
There wasn’t much the twins’ group could do about it. So, for the rest of the day, they returned to the side of F17 where Godly Pressure existed so they could recover their Godly Energy. Well, mostly to cultivate, actually. The recovery part was pretty fast. The excuse was the same as always: get used to the environment outside.
As they cultivated, Kentucky couldn’t help but ask. "Shouldn’t we go after one of the groups of Godly Creatures before the help arrives? We will also have to share our Godly Crystals with them if we work together. Not to mention their presence will prevent us from using our real abilities."
Roan shook his head in response. "No. At first, I thought that too. However, more fighters could actually work in our favor if they are used well. If done right, it will reduce the risks, too, even if it means fewer Godly Crystals for us. Don’t worry, I know what we are going to do."
Finally, they returned to the watchpost and retired for the day.
The next morning, the airplane with the Aura God and the ten Anchor Gods landed in the watchpost. Woff was already there, waiting for them. Since an Aura God like himself was coming, he had to be there to complement the guy first. "Thank you for coming. I’m Woff, the one in charge of this watchpost. I believe you are Fonken, right?"
Fonken didn’t seem interested in Woff. They were both Aura God Realm cultivators, but Woff was only in the Middle Stage, while the newcomer was in the Peak Stage. It was only two stages, but in the Celestial Plane, where cultivation was just too hard, those two stages meant a lot. "I didn’t really want to come, but it was a direct order."
Woff didn’t take that personally. "It is always like this. Well, let me bring you to the monitoring room where I can put your group up to speed."
Fonken nodded, and his group went to the top of the watchpost, and the twins’ group was already there. "These here are the four who have been killing the Godly Creatures so far, Rean, Roan, Kentucky, and Celis."
Fonken glanced at them for a moment. He looked a little more interested in the twins’ group than he was in Woff. "I read the reports. The work you did with that group of nine Godly Beasts was quite impressive. I’ve never expected Intent Weapons to make such a huge difference at the lower stages of cultivation. If your aptitudes just weren’t that low..."
Rean smiled. "Don’t worry, friend. We are aware of our limitations. It is good that the sect puts us to work while we are still useful with our Weapon Intents. By doing this, we can gather a lot of Godly Crystals that most at our level can’t, so we aren’t complaining."
"It is good that you think like that. I don’t want anyone causing trouble during this cleaning," Fonken said. "I will take charge of the assault on the Godly Creatures. We need to make a plan so that we won’t be swarmed by that group."
Roan took from there. "We agree. However, you guys have never fought by our side, so cooperation wouldn’t work very well for you or for us. Besides, just like you said, we can’t take all those Godly Creatures head-on. That would be just suicide. That said, we believe it would be better if your group attacked from one side and our group from the other."
Roan continued. "Godly Creatures aren’t intelligent. They will just follow whatever is close to them. By splitting into two groups, we can separate them if we appear at the same time and run away."
Fonken pondered a bit and nodded. He reviewed the reports and even watched the videos available from the twins’ Ring Communicators, so he knew that strategy worked since it had worked before. He had to admit he wouldn’t know how to coordinate with the twins’ group without spending some time together. It’s just that he has no intention of wasting that much time here. "That will do. I will have my Anchor Gods prepare a trap to further split the creatures that come after us, and then we will eliminate them little by little."
Fonken continued. "I saw your pick off the stragglers strategy, too. We can start with that to reduce the number of Godly Spawns before we go ahead with this plan."
Roan was quite satisfied with this Aura God. He was arrogant, but not an idiot. Just that he thoroughly reviewed the available information before coming showed he had his principles in the right place. Perhaps that was the effect of living in the Celestial Plane, where the tiny cultivator regions could be wiped out at any moment. "That will work for us too."
They were all ready to go, so Woff got them the same guides as before. It only took three hours, and they had already arrived in the location where the Godly Creatures settled down.
As mentioned before, there were two groups with a similar number of Godly Creatures. This group in front was only one of them. The other would be left to another time.
Fonken looked to one of the Anchor Gods that came with him. They seemed to know each other. "Zuary, I’ll leave it to you to find a good place for the trap on our side. There will likely be quite a few Godly Beasts running after us, so make sure you make something that you and the other Anchor Gods won’t regret later."
Zuary accepted the task. "We’ve worked together before. Leave it to me."
Fonken nodded and turned to the twins’ group. "So, let’s start by picking off the stragglers first. Do you need help with that?"
"No," Roan shook his head. "It will be you and me. The other three from my group will also set a trap, but on the opposite side. I’ll leave the stragglers from this side for you to take care of. The others, you can count on me."
Fonken had no complaints, and both groups split. Rean, Kentucky, and Celis circled around the Godly Creatures’ Group from afar and then left. Roan and Fonken, obviously, began their work. With such a big group of Godly Creatures, there were quite a few of the Godly Spawns that went a little too far away, which neither Roan nor Fonken lost the opportunity to take down.
Just like before, the Spawns began to die. It wouldn’t take long before both Roan and Fonken’s group switched to their main plan.
