Chapter 4465: Candy!
"Right..." Tobao finally remembered what the twins had mentioned when they first arrived. At the time, his attention had been completely stolen by the fox that the Sacred Relic had identified as an overwhelmingly powerful Godly Creature. "You did say the Sacred Relic might have mistaken your Godly Predator Crystals—and even a Godly Horror Crystal—for some terrifying Godly Creature. We assumed those crystals came from the ruins you explored."
His gaze moved from the crystals back to the twins. "Don’t tell me you actually killed all of these Godly Predators yourselves."
"We sure did," Lukay answered before anyone else. "They even forced me to deliver the finishing blow several times. You have absolutely no idea how shocked I was when I realized we truly possessed the ability to kill Godly Predators outside the Sacred Relic’s influence."
Naturally, he omitted any mention of the Anti-Godly Pressure Pills or the Sanctuary. Those remained secrets known only to the twins group.
Even so, Tobao immediately noticed that same inconsistency. "Then what about the Godly Pressure? Outside the Sacred Relic, it should have weakened all of you considerably. How were you able to fight Godly Predators under those conditions?"
"There were five Zone Gods," Roan replied.
Clasou looked around the room in confusion. "Five? What five Zone Gods? Lukay is the only Zone God among you."
Tobao, however, understood immediately. "Your combat strength..." His eyes narrowed. "You’re saying your power at the Middle Stage of the Aura God Realm is already comparable to Zone Gods."
Roan nodded. "You’ve already seen us fight back when we were only in the Anchor God Realm. Is it really that surprising? We can fly, wield Stage Seven Weapon Intent, possess enormous Godly Energy reserves, and our teamwork is nearly perfect. With proper planning, every battle effectively became five Zone Gods against a single Godly Predator."
"We didn’t kill every Predator we encountered," Rean added. "Many realized they couldn’t win and escaped before we could finish them. Others simply weren’t fast enough."
Kentucky folded his arms proudly. "Those became crystals."
Roan continued as if nothing had happened. "As for the weakening effect of Godly Pressure, numbers compensated for it."
To the twins, it was obviously only part of the truth. To Tobao and Clasou, however, it sounded perfectly reasonable. Tobao had personally witnessed the group’s absurd combat strength on multiple occasions already. They had always fought far beyond their cultivation realm, and even their flying ability surpassed that of ordinary Zone Gods. Given that, their explanation was difficult to disprove.
Still staring at the mountain of crystals, Tobao suddenly noticed one crystal that stood apart from the rest.
"Wait..." His expression changed. "What about the Godly Horror Crystal?"
"Oh, that one?" Rean smiled. "We found it inside the fortress ruins together with the Godly Pearls."
Naturally, there was no way Tobao or Clasou would believe they had actually killed a Godly Horror. Claiming they had slain dozens upon dozens of Godly Predators was already pushing the limits of credibility. If they also claimed to have defeated a Godly Horror, everything else would probably sound like a complete fabrication.
"I see..." Tobao slowly nodded as he remembered Rean’s report. "You mentioned finding a hidden chamber beneath the fortress. There was an array there..." He raised his eyes toward Rean. "Where is the activation key?"
Lukay couldn’t help but ask. "Wait, are you planning to send someone to try out that array?"
Tobao looked at the reports one more time. "I will admit it intrigues me. A functioning Teleport Array? You don’t see that every day. I’ll see what I can do. For now, you can leave that tablet with me. I might ask you to join the exploration to check this teleport array in the future, though."
The conversation seemed to be coming to an end. The important information had already been exchanged, and Tobao now had a much clearer understanding of what had happened during the twins’ exploration.
Of course, there were still many mysteries left unanswered. How exactly had they managed to survive for so long outside the Sacred Relic’s influence? How had they defeated so many Godly Predators despite the weakening effect of their Godly Pressure? And most importantly, what exactly was the limit of this group’s strength? It wasn’t as if he completely believed the twins’ group explanation about it being simply numbers. He wasn’t an idiot.
However, Tobao knew better than to push too much.
The twins and their companions had already shared more than enough. Besides, whatever secrets they were hiding, their actions had only benefited Besgol so far.
*Crunch!*
Suddenly, the sound of something being bitten echoed through the room.
Everyone stopped talking.
They had all been focused on the conversation, so no one had paid attention to the table in front of them. The pile of Godly Predator Crystals was still there, untouched... or so they thought.
A certain fluffy two-tailed little girl had apparently found the perfect opportunity.
The little creature stood beside one of the crystals, holding it between her paws.
Before anyone could react, she opened her mouth and bit down.
*Crunch!*
The Godly Predator Crystal shattered.
For a moment, nobody moved.
Then...
*Gulp!*
The fox swallowed the entire crystal.
*Burp!*
Silence.
Complete silence.
Tobao, Clasou, Lukay, Roan, Kentucky, Celis, and Rean all stared at the little fox.
The creature simply sat there, looking completely satisfied, as if she had just eaten an ordinary snack.
"..."
Nobody knew what to say.
That was a Godly Predator Crystal.
A resource that even powerful cultivators in the Besgol Region fought desperately to obtain.
A single one of those crystals contained an enormous amount of energy and was enough to help an Aura God Realm cultivator advance their cultivation.
And this little fox...
Rean was the first one to recover from his shock. He looked at the fox, then at the empty space where the crystal had been.
"...Did she just eat that? She won’t explode, will she?"
Kentucky slowly shook his head, his expression strange.
"I... don’t know?"
Celis narrowed his eyes, observing the fox carefully. "That’s impossible."
Roan’s gaze became sharp as well. "A normal animal shouldn’t even be able to digest that amount of energy."
The fox simply tilted her head, completely unaware that everyone around her had just seen something impossible happen.
Tobao looked at the fox again, and for the first time since they arrived, his expression became truly serious.
"Perhaps..." he muttered. "Perhaps the Sacred Relic wasn’t wrong after all."
