Chapter 3756: Discs
The Devil City of Rangan was the capital of this region of the Underworld. It was quite big, housing several tens of millions of devils of all levels. Even as the twins’ group got close, they could already see many devils going in and out. And, as they noticed earlier, the average level of experts was truly high.
The twins even had a hard time counting just how many Space-Bending, Elemental Space, and Space-Time Realm experts were in that city alone. They were in the hundreds of thousands for the Space-Bending ones. Space-Time, for example, there were at least a thousand. Last but not least, they could feel the presence of at least ten Divinity Realms, nine of them in the Initial Stage, and one at the Middle Stage.
Another thing caught the twins’ group’s attention. Normally, the buildings in a city like this would be filled with anti-Divine Sense Formations. After all, everyone wanted privacy to a certain degree. However, Sister Orb barely found such formations around. If there were a thousand of them in her detection range, it was already too many.
The few that existed were placed into rooms instead of entire buildings, making it even more surprising. It was as if no one had anything to hide at all.
"Rean, Roan, Kentucky, thank you for bringing us over." Tarie prepared to leave. "Senior Kentucky, especially, with his speed, we got to the capital a lot earlier than we expected."
Kentucky stuffed his chest. "That goes without saying. I’m the king of the skies! Hahaha!" Yet, seeing Tarie’s group’s weird faces, he noticed he spoke too much. "Of course, it is all thanks to the Light of the Provider. Praise the Light!"
Tarie and the others’ expressions went back to normal. "Praise the Light of the Provider!"
From there, Tarie’s group separated from them, leaving the twins’ group free to investigate their situation.
"Alright, you two, give me a hand." Rean quickly passed the orders. "We don’t know if the Werdlem Network is used or not, so try to find what kind of communication system the Devils use. If it turns out to be the normal CDs, that’s good. If not, whatever else they use, we will have to do the same."
Roan refused, though. "I have other plans. You guys go and look for it." Without waiting for an answer, Roan turned around and walked away, disappearing into the crowd.
Rean sighed but didn’t mind. "Then it’s you and me, Kentucky. Let’s go."
And so, Rean and Kentucky separated to cover a bigger area of the city in a shorter time.
From inside the Dimensional Realm, Sister Orb was able to detect the Werdlem Empire’s Signal, but she did not access it.
It wasn’t before several hours later that Rean and Kentucky got back to the City Center, their expressions showing confusion.
"I haven’t found anything like the CDs used to connect to the Werdlem Empire," Kentucky shook his head. "They do have technology here, many Circuitry Formations for many things. On this point, they are basically the same as the other Universes, and the average level of those formations is also higher. However, not a single one of them had anything to do with the Werdlem Network."
Rean got the same result. "Then we had the same experience. I also found nothing related to the Werdlem Network. However, I did find out how they communicate with each other. Let’s go back to the Dimensional Realm."
Kentucky didn’t mind, and the two disappeared in the middle of the road. No one found it strange. One thing they noticed was that everyone with Pocket Dimensional Realms didn’t care about leaving the entrance to their Dimensional Realms right there in the open. Simply put, they knew no one would try to attack them, and that wasn’t just because they were inside the city. It was more because all the Devils seemed to have full trust in each other. Well, that worked for the twins’ group, too.
Inside the Dimensional Realm, Rean brought out a small disc. There was a display at the center, and one could use it to connect to the Network. However, the network used was not the Werdlem Empire’s Network. It was something else.
Rean then began to show them the disc’s display and browsed the new network. "To be honest, this is very similar to my communication system back in the Lisan Universe. One’s blood can bind these discs, so only you can use them. However, you have no need for a specific Werdlem ID to access the network. Once you buy and pay the Network Fee, it is fully operational for you to use as you please."
Rean threw several more of those discs to Kentucky, Zangeshu, Foliana, and Tanxan. "The blood binding is not a requirement, so Tanxan can use it as well."
"What about the Werdlem Network? Are we not to use it anymore?" Foliana asked.
"I already searched the term Werdlem Network when I was outside," Rean explained. "Yet, there is no mention about the network at all. There were some things related to the name Werdlem, but it was not the Werdlem Empire we know, just the same name. Anyway, it is just like the Divine Snow World. However, this network isn’t confined to a single region like the Divine Snow World was. The network access is covering this entire D33 Universe. Simply put, you can even contact someone from the Heavens and Divine Realm if you want."
Kentucky couldn’t help but ask. "How come the Devils barely use these discs and the network? Before we got to this city, I hadn’t seen a single Devil using them. Even now, when checking the city with my divine sense, I didn’t see more than a few tens of devils playing with these discs."
Rean shrugged. "Actually, they use the discs, just not in the way you think," Rean then showed a feature of the discs. From the back, a tiny bracelet detached. Rean poured some Divine Energy, and the bracelet quickly reached a size that matched his wrist. After putting it on, Rean put the disc device away. "This is all you need."
Kentucky and the others got confused, but they followed Rean’s instructions and did the same thing. As soon as they put the bracelets on, they understood. Their minds were now capable of accessing the network. No, to be more specific, the bracelets showed everything the network had available through the discs. They could even control the discs with their minds. "Now, this is impressive."
Rean smiled. "The best part is that you can keep the disc inside your Pocket Dimensional Realm or Spatial Ring. It still works without any problems. That’s why we didn’t see any Devils using these communication devices. There are very few moments when you truly have to use the disc itself. For everything else, you could control it through your mind. The Devils are using the devices, you see? You just can’t see them doing it. Anyway, make sure you get used to it and put the discs inside your own Pocket Dimensional Realms."
Everyone nodded, and the discs disappeared.
"Still..." Kentucky was curious. "What about the Werdlem Network?"
It was at that moment that Roan entered the Dimensional Realm again.
