Death… And Me

Chapter 3883: Her Own Plans

Chapter 3883: Her Own Plans

Feigning confusion, the twins nodded. ’Sure, senior. Is it about Wisfreya? We won’t tell you what we did to stop her. Please, don’t insist. Our elders would cut off our heads if we did.’

’No, that’s not it,’ the man shook his head again. Of course, he wanted to know about what they did, but above all, he had to cover the feed alteration. ’I’ll be blunt, we altered the feed of the online stream, so no one saw your trick. For all intents and purposes, you just had a nice talk with Wisfreya and nothing else. You can even check it later.’

’What?!’ The twins were ’shocked’ to discover such a thing. ’H-How?! Is it a good thing?’

’It is... for you and us, that is. I remember little friend Roan being mad that you revealed your trick for everyone to see, right?’ The man already had everything he wanted to say ready in his mind, including how to convince these two ’thirteen-year-old’ youngsters. ’Well, they didn’t. Your little secret is still very well hidden.’

’Wow!’ Rean quickly shook hands with the man. ’Thank you, senior! You truly saved us there!’

Roan was a lot more skeptical. ’But why are you telling us that?’

’Ahem...’ He obviously had his agenda. ’Because no one can know we altered the feed. You two don’t want anyone to find out about your little ability, right? Well, we also don’t want anyone to find out about Wisfreya’s powers. So, how about we be quiet about it for both our sakes?’

’Hum...’ Roan wouldn’t let that chance pass so easily. ’It is true that we don’t want others to find out about our ability before the right time. But that doesn’t mean it is that big of an issue. We are sorry, but we must report it to our superiors.’

The man quickly jumped in. ’Now, now! No need to be that hasty! I’m obviously not going to ask you to do it just because of your secret. My Verjansy Government is willing to pay you quite handsomely if you keep your two mouths shut. Go ahead, what do you want?’

Roan nodded slightly, seemingly a lot more satisfied. ’In that case, answer the question I asked Wisfreya. What kind of power is that of hers?’

’This...’ The man didn’t expect the twins to have such a request. He thought these youngsters would ask for a lot of cultivation resources instead. ’That would be a little-’

’Oh!’ Rean quickly followed. ’There is no need to worry. You can simply make us sign a Soul Binding Contract so we will never talk about it. You did it to Wisfreya, after all. We are truly just curious about her powers.’

’Give me a minute, please...’ The man couldn’t give an answer for that, so he contacted someone else.

Back in the room where the live feed was altered, Fliory received the call, hearing the twins’ proposal. "That’s good enough. Make sure to make an airtight Soul Binding Contract, then you can tell them. They must think they can employ Wisfreya’s powers to their own use. Kids are indeed just kids. They have no idea you would need to have Wisfreya’s bloodline for that. In any case, Wisfreya’s powers won’t be hidden for much longer, so no harm done there."

The man finally returned his attention to the twins. ’My superior has accepted your request. Please, give me a minute to write the contract, and you can read it yourselves.’

Sure enough, a minute later, the contract was passed to the twins, and they signed it after reading for a moment. It was very straightforward. Even if it had some hidden clauses, it wouldn’t matter anyway.

The man didn’t waste time and shared what he could about Wisfreya’s power. Rean and Roan weren’t idiots, and they were sure he was hiding a lot of important parts. But that didn’t matter. There wasn’t anything interesting in this Martial Gathering for them, so they were only doing this out of curiosity.

Her bloodline turned out to be from the Luminous Aether Dragon.

The Luminous Aether Dragon is a celestial beast born from condensed starlight, divine energy, and living crystal. Instead of fire, it breathes Aether Light, radiant energy capable of crystallizing whatever it touches.

Those who inherit its bloodline gain a Crystal Element Affinity, which, as explained before, is an offshoot of the Earth Element.

She obviously used her bloodline in other ways, like using the environment’s Divine Energy, condensing it to form her crystals instead of using a breath like a dragon. Could she even use a Dragon’s Breath? They weren’t sure.

Now, why would the Verjansy Country want to hide her powers and bloodline? That’s because Luminous Aether Dragons don’t exist here. In fact, there are no Luminous Aether Dragons in the entire A1 Universe, which makes them even rarer than Foliana’s Red Lightning Hawk.

As one could expect, the man did not answer the twins about how Wisfreya acquired that bloodline. Maybe even the Verjansy Country didn’t know the answer to that question. Nonetheless, the twins got what they wanted.

"Thank you, sir," Rean bowed to the man. "We shall now take our leave."

"Yes," the man nodded. "By the way, after what we saw, we are expecting great things from you. You two are quite interesting."

The twins already spent quite some time here, so they quickly returned to their residences. Roan with the Hazin Clan, and Rean with the City Lord State’s experts and elders of Enrel City.

Those two powers obviously noticed when the twins were approached, and they asked what it was about. Both twins simply gave the most obvious answer. The Verjansy Country was impressed with their performance and wanted to recruit them, just like many others did after the first event. Neither the Hazin Clan nor the City Lord’s experts doubted their words. They already expected such things to happen. Now, all they had to do was wait for the second event to be over.

---

[That’s a very interesting bloodline.] Now with free time, Sister Orb checked on this so-called Luminous Aether Dragon. [I found it impressive how she could condense crystals out of the Divine Energy in the environment. Turns out the Luminous Aether Dragon is capable of creating a special type of energy with its bloodline.]

’Let me guess,’ Kentucky shrugged. ’Aether Energy?’

[The Luminous Aether Dragon is called that for a reason, right?] Sister Orb confirmed. [Anyway, from what is available in the Werdlem Network, you can’t do what she does without this bloodline. You guys can create Sky Energy by merging Soul Power, Starlight and Divine Origin Energy. In Wisfreya’s case, she creates Aether Energy from the merging of Divine Energy and Bloodline Power. Just like your Sky Energy requirements, you can’t use something else to create Aether Energy.]

’That’s why they accepted our offer,’ Roan nodded. ’They knew that even if we found out about it, all we could do was watch. Without her bloodline, no one else can copy her powers.’

Rean pondered a bit. ’Breeding?’

Kentucky and Celis followed. ’Yes, most likely breeding.’

Since she had this bloodline, the only way to pass it forward was through your children. It was very likely that Wisfreya would have to give birth to quite a few children in the future for the sake of the country.

Foliana couldn’t help but get angry. ’That’s ridiculous! I’m taking her out of here!’

’You are doing none of that,’ Roan cut her off. ’I paid close attention to the girl when we mentioned she was a slave. I can tell you that she is not being forced to do anything. In fact, if my theory is right, she is actually doing pretty well for herself.’

’What do you mean?’ Foliana still didn’t like it.

’Can’t you see it?’ Roan pointed out. ’She is receiving the full focus of the Verjansy Country to increase her cultivation. Only seventeen years old and already a Saint Realm Peak Stage. She will eventually reach a cultivation high enough where she can break the Soul Binding Contract of her own volition. That’s likely the deal here. Give the Verjansy Country a few Luminous Aether Dragon Bloodline kids, and get the country’s full support. If you ask me, she got quite a bargain.’

’But those would be her kids...’ Foliana said, a disapproving tone in her voice.

’Anyway,’ Roan ended the discussion there. ’That’s not our problem. We got the answer we wanted, and now we know we can’t gain anything from learning more about her powers. At least something interesting happened in this gathering, and that’s good enough. Now, focus on the next event.’

Everyone accepted the orders... or so it seemed. Yet, Foliana had her own plans.
