Chapter 3899: The Next Choice
Immediately, Rean and Roan grabbed Gakrid and Rovitel’s arms, jumping in the next moment on Kentucky’s back. "You two, just stay still and don’t do anything until we say so."
Gakrid and Rovitel didn’t need to hear it twice. They had no intention to fight anyone in this last part as they knew they simply weren’t anyone’s matches.
Wisfreya followed the twins’ group, and they all landed on Kentucky’s back, who shot into the dome.
As soon as they entered the dome, the cultivation suppression was activated again, and everyone was dragged down to the Core and Soul Fusion Realm. That was to be expected since the cultivations of the various teams were quite different except for the captains themselves.
The other teams quickly followed, all of them going after their own crystals. Since Bugel said that their own crystals would be easier to hold, they obviously had to get those first.
Rean looked around as Kentucky flew. Kentucky was obviously holding back, making it look like he was just a tiny bit faster than those around. However, their own crystal was further away from them, moving around on its own. At that speed, they wouldn’t get to their crystal before other teams got to theirs.
Rean smiled, raising his hand. Immediately, Hundreds of Light Arrows appeared, and he shot them all at once against the other teams around.
*Fiu, fiu, fiu, fiu, fiu...*
The Saint Realm Experts noticed that and immediately countered. At the moment, everyone had the same cultivation, so Rean’s arrows could definitely cause some damage.
Various elements from different weapons or skills brightened the surroundings as Rean’s Light Arrows were struck down with ease. However, right behind, several dark arrows, which had been completely concealed by the bright light ones, appeared. Yes, Roan did a follow-up to Rean’s attack, as expected.
*Bang, bang, bang, bang...*
The experts were all together, so even if they were taken by surprise by Rean and Roan’s combinations, their teams were able to work together to defend against the twins’ group. No one was injured, and the twins’ group quickly became the target of everyone’s anger! Shouldn’t they have at least waited until they had secured their own crystal?
Yet, the result of those attacks was soon shown. Kentucky pulled ahead, and he would get to their team crystal first, even if just slightly.
How could the teams that were targeted by Rean and Roan just watch? Fire, Lightning, Water, Earth, Wind, and two non-mainstream elements surged forth, all of them culminations of various different ranged skills that came raining down on the twins’ group.
Everyone watching wondered if the twins’ group was trying to commit suicide. There was no way they could defend against all those attacks alone. Gakrid and Rovitel’s souls almost came out of their bodies, thinking the same thing. ’Why are they provoking everyone?!’
Wisfreya gritted her teeth, and her Aether Energy accumulated.
Yet, before she could do anything, Foliana’s Red Lightning Elemental burst upwards, followed by Zangeshu’s Normal Lightning Element.
*Kabrum!*
Their Lightning didn’t target any of the attacks specifically. Instead, they worked together to make a zone of Pure Red and Normal Lightning Elements around Kentucky. The first attacks that arrived began to explode.
That caught everyone’s attention. How did Foliana and Zangeshu alone manage to defend against so many ranged attacks?
However, the older experts understood. Zangeshu and Foliana didn’t do such a thing. They only increased the power of their elements to ensure the first wave would be disrupted. Then the explosions from the first wave enveloped the ranged attacks that arrived in sequence, creating a backward chain reaction.
*boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom...*
The shockwaves reached Kentucky’s wings, who used them to accelerate! From Kentucky’s back, several tentacle-like green jelly extended to the ground, enveloping a Crystal Core as Kentucky passed flying without stop.
The spectators looked at that in excitement, especially those watching it online. Only now did they understand Wifreya’s group’s plan. They used Rean and Roan to provoke all nearby teams, then lured the attacks in their direction.
There is no way those teams would work together. They just attacked Wifreya’s group out of anger for what Rean and Roan did. There was no coordination between their attacks at all. Foliana and Zangeshu only had to pay attention to the first wave of attacks to know how to use them in their favor. Now, Tanxan has caught their crystal, making them the first team to hold it. The ten-minute countdown has initiated!
*Bzzzz!*
Yet, the crystal immediately began to discharge powerful currents of Lightning Element, focusing on Tanxan’s green jelly tentacles. While all of that happened, the Elemental Storms seemed to focus on their group out of nowhere, and various elemental attacks took form before coming crashing down. There were so many that it made the attacks from the other teams earlier look like nothing.
That caught the other teams by surprise. They were intending to catch their crystals and immediately fly after Kentucky and his group. After all, Kentucky’s group started holding their crystal first, so they would obviously reach the ten-minute mark ahead of everyone else.
However, the elemental power of those storms made them hold back, feeling quite afraid. It was way more than they could deal with. It was pretty obvious that this environment was prepared to make the life of the leading team as hard as possible. In their minds, Wisfreya’s group wouldn’t be able to hold on to the crystal for long as the barrage of elemental attacks came down.
The twins finally looked at Wisfreya, asking through Divine Sense. ’Do you want to reveal your powers now? There is no better moment. If you don’t do it, we will likely rob the spotlight that the Verjansy Country purposely prepared for you. They even paid us and made us sign Soul Binding Contracts to keep quiet about your powers, remember?’
Wisfreya took a deep breath, nodding. Could she really deal with all those elemental attacks on her own? She didn’t care and decided to try. She had an advantage. She knew that even if she failed, the twins’ group definitely would cover for her. It was indeed a great chance to reveal her bloodline power in a great show of lights.
Aether Energy accumulated in the surroundings, and thousands of tiny crystals materialized in the air. They positioned themselves in the path of those elemental attacks from the storms, blocking all at once.
"Down!" Wisfreya bellowed, and her crystals redirected all those elemental attacks downwards, as if they were some kind of energy conduits that worked with all kinds of elements! Turns out she didn’t try to block them, and it looked even better! That was a very dazzling display, even brighter than what the twins’ group had done so far.
"What is that?" As expected, the various teams around were taken aback. That wasn’t the kind of power they had seen Wisfreya using in the stream recordings during the Labyrinth Event.
It mattered little, though. Wisfreya did it! She defended against all the elemental attacks from the storms on her own!
Well...
*Cough, cough, cough...*
She immediately fell on her knees, coughing blood. Indeed, even for her and her bloodline, that display put a great burden on her body and energy, especially since her cultivation was suppressed.
Rean faintly smiled, touching her shoulder and sending a hidden stream of Light Element into her body. Wisfreya’s eyes opened wide as she could feel and see with her Divine Sense how all her internal injuries simply disappeared in an instant! Even better, Rean hid it well, leaving the external injuries as they were to make it look like she was still in a bad condition. ’You will be fine. Now, focus. It is not over yet.’
Kentucky came out on the other side of the elemental attacks unscathed. Tanxan still held the crystal above his Jelly body as it discharged more and more lightning into him. Finally, a minute went by, and Tanxan tossed the crystal to the next person. "I’m at my limit! Here you go!"
As he did it, the element discharged by the crystal changed into fire. Wisfreya didn’t pay much attention, knowing that every single member of the twins’ group likely could hold that crystal for the full ten minutes on their own. That was just a fake display to look like they couldn’t do such a thing.
However, her calm only lasted a second. That’s because she saw who Tanxan tossed that crystal at...
In fact, she wasn’t the only one shocked. The guy selected to hold the crystal was even more so!
"What the hell?!" Wisfreya felt her condition worsening when she saw that.
It was Gakrid, one of the two lucky kids who had been dragged along!
A tear came down from Gakrid’s eyes, never expecting he would be asked to hold that thing. With his power, let alone a minute, he doubted he could hold that crystal for ten seconds! "I’m dead..."
