Chapter 3956: Not Alone!
Rean and Roan would meet with Ximao every few days or so. After all, we can’t forget that these meetings weren’t known by the rest of the Divine Military Academy Higher-Ups. Besides, the twins’ group still had their own Academy Missions and tasks to take care of. Even Ximao couldn’t make the twins neglect it since the academy was a property of the countries, not his.
That being said, the cultivation technique that would take several weeks to be completed actually took several months, and that wasn’t including the adjustments it would need to receive from Roan over the years.
Before all of that, the twins told Foliana, Zangeshu, and Tanxan what had happened back there, shocking the three. The idea that each one of the twins’ quartet could potentially destroy a Universe on their own was not something you could expect.
Well, it wasn’t truly that simple. Ximao said that a Balance Breaker could potentially destroy a Univere, but it wouldn’t happen in a single day. Those Balance Breakers would have to deliberately burden the Chaos Origin Source for many years, nonstop. So, in fact, if you want to destroy a Universe through that method, you’d better have backup. That’s one more reason for the Werdlem Empire to control their numbers.
---
A few months after Caladara left, Wisfreya was contacted again by Ruberto, the Vice-President of Verjansy. President Bugel had finally confirmed that it was safe for her return, telling Ruberto and everyone interested in coming back that they could do so now.
That in itself raised many other problems, though. At the moment, Wisfreya is being backed up by the Galantes Country. She was the only member of the twins’ group to choose a country to side with, and the Galantes Country obviously had many expectations for her.
But then again, the Galantes Country knew that Wisfreya was actually a member of the Verjansy Country. Unless they found some way of stopping her from leaving, they couldn’t do much about it.
To be fair, the Galantes Country didn’t expect Wisfreya to choose to go back. They had checked her and knew she wasn’t under any Soul Binding Contract obligations. There was no such thing as a family waiting for her back in Verjansy either. With all the advantages she got for being one of the top geniuses of her generation in the Academy, they genuinely thought she would end up staying there, representing their country in her generation.
To hear that she decided to go back was a shock, and they did all they could to try to convince the girl to change her mind. They were even willing to pay the Verjansy Country back, including everything the Verjansy Country paid them to receive their asylum there. She was that big of a prospect, and the Galates Country hasn’t had a single Golden Radiance prospect in a very, very long time, let alone a Level Three Golden Radiance Prospect.
For context, of the five hundred or so experts, officials, and youngsters who came from Verjansy fifty years ago, over half decided they didn’t want to go back. The environment in Galates and the Academy was better, especially since they wouldn’t need to deal with the troubles that came after such a large-scale war, as in the Green Cluster.
Considering that Wisfreya was the one who was benefiting the most from that move to Galantes Country and to the Academy, it made sense for Galantes Country to expect her to stay.
---
The day to return arrived, and Ruberto, along with many experts, officials, and youngsters, gathered in Huimun City. That was the same city that Galantes Country prepared a state for them to live in after they arrived.
Still, Ruberto had quite a terrible expression on his face. "Where the hell is Wisfreya? She was supposed to be here a long time ago!"
One of his officials couldn’t help but ask. "Do you think Galantes Country intervened and prevented her from coming?"
"If that was the case, she would have at least contacted us..." Ruberto said. Still, he wasn’t confident in his own words. What if Galantes also made it impossible for her to contact anyone?
Ruberto looked around, and within his Divine Sense, there were indeed a few experts from Galantes watching them, but that had been there for all these years; nothing out of the norm. After all, they came from another country and didn’t consider themselves citizens of Galantes.
But then, Ruberto received a message on his CD. He looked at it, and shock appeared on his face. "This..."
The others looked at him. "What is it? Did she give up?"
Ruberto shook his head, putting his CD away. "We can talk later. Activate the formation!"
The formations masters were puzzled, but they did what he asked. Soon, a flash of silver light followed, and the entire group disappeared. They didn’t go straight to Verjansy Country, of course. Huimun City didn’t have a Super Long-Distance Teleport Formation. First, they had to go to the capital, where Galantes Country’s president, Wamon Tin, was already waiting for them.
He was there with several officials and other experts to see the Verjansy Country experts off... and, above all, try to convince Wisfreya that she should actually stay with them. He even had a plan in mind and an offer that he believed she would never refuse.
Yet, he was also informed that Wisfreya never appeared in Huimun City, and was surprised when the teleport formation activated and the Verjansy Country entourage arrived in his capital. According to his people at the Divine Military Academy, Wisfreya was still there, so he didn’t understand why Ruberto had left Huimun City without the girl.
"F-Friend Ruberto, you have come." Of course, he still put up a welcoming front.
Ruberto came forward. "President Wamon, it is good to see you again. Yes, we decided to go back earlier. There are many issues to be dealt with back in the Verjansy Country, after all. On behalf of our Verjansy Country, I thank you for all the support your Galantes Country gave us. Naturally, if Galantes Country needs our country one day, we will definitely do our best to help."
"You are being too polite, friend Ruberto." Wamon kept his smile. "By the way, I don’t see Wisfreya. Wasn’t she going back with you?"
"That’s the weird thing," Ruberto shrugged. "She told us to go ahead. I don’t know why, but we can’t wait either. Thus, we are leaving first."
"I see..." Wamon wondered if Wisfreya had changed her mind. Nonetheless, the best would be for the Verjansy Country to be gone before she arrived here to use the teleport formation. "Then I bid you farewell."
"You too, President Wamon." Finally, they moved to the Super Long-Distance Teleport Formation this time. They filled the formation with the Divine Stones and activated it straight away. Just like that, those still willing to go back to Verjansy disappeared.
Wamon pondered a bit, seeing that they were all gone.
However, he suddenly received a call on his CD as well. It was one of his people in the academy. "What is it?"
-Wisfreya has left the academy. She made the exit report just now.-
To go out of the academy, you had to report it ahead of time due to the rules. The system enveloping the academy wouldn’t allow you to step outside or use the teleport formations if you didn’t.
"So she is coming. Good! We will meet her here." Wamon thought it to be his best chance, and since there wasn’t anyone else from Verjansy anymore, he might even try to force the issue a little bit. "Tell me when she teleports to Huimun. I’ll go there as well."
Things didn’t play like that, though. -President, she isn’t taking any teleport formations. She is leaving the floating island through the air.-
"Uh?" Wamon was taken aback. "Why?"
-We don’t know. Should we follow her?-
"Yes!" Wamon didn’t think twice. "Keep me posted."
Then, just five minutes later, he was contacted again. Wisfreya disappeared!
---
Many, many continents away, back in the Green Cluster, President Bugel waited on top of a mountain quite far away from the Verjansy Country’s Capital. There was nothing there, other than the occasional animal or low-level demon beast in the forests at the base of the mountain.
He waited, rechecking his CD time over and over again, slightly confused. ’Just how did she even get this kind of support?’ He wondered.
*Crack...*
Then, out of nowhere, a crack in space appeared, quickly followed by the opening of a Spatial Gate.
"President Bugel!" From there, Wisfreya stepped out, and the Spatial Gate closed behind her.
Bugel couldn’t help but feel surprised. Earlier today, he received a message from Wisfreya, telling him that her master would bring her to Verjansy Country with a Spatial Gate instead of using Galantes Country’s Super Long-Distance Teleport Formation. Since a Spatial Gate was being used, Wisfreya’s Master naturally had to be someone in the Space-Time Realm or above. But that was not what surprised him.
He didn’t doubt Wisfreya could get such a master back in the Divine Military Academy. After all, she was a Level Three Golden Prospect. What he didn’t expect was that this so-called master would allow her to go back to Verjansy. Shouldn’t this master have forced her to stay?
Well, who was her master? Foliana, obviously. Foliana wouldn’t really try to force Wisfreya to stay against her will. Foliana didn’t appear herself. She only opened the Spatial Gate for Wisfreya to use.
Bugel looked at Wisfreya, delighted to see her. "You girl! You’d better tell me everything."
But then, he noticed that Wisfreya wasn’t alone. "You... your appearance changed a little over the years, getting more mature, but I still recognize you. Your name was Zangeshu, right?"
Yes, Zangeshu came back with Wisfreya!
