Chapter 3963: Little Shark
[The Primordial Beasts are part of the pillar that sustains the Werdlem Empire’s Bubble. The Charybdis Queen was one, and now, the system has detected another, the second of the twelve. This is a branch quest to the original, which is still ongoing.] (Chapter 3084)
[Objective: Free Xyrath, the Chronoblade Serpent.]
[Reward: 3400 Celestial Points.]
Celis slowly took his roots away from the Control Orb. "See? I got us the quest..."
Rean glared at him. "By creating a ridiculously annoying quest for us to fulfill, that is."
Roan didn’t seem to care, though. "So what? Who said we need to complete this quest anyway? We aren’t supposed to even waste more than a few days inside, so forget about this Primordial Demon Beast."
The Future Realm was nothing but an excuse to explain why their group’s cultivation increased so fast. They weren’t really intending to stay inside. They would enter it in front of everyone, and everyone would think they were there. Yet, once inside, they would leave a few days later and do something else. Maybe cultivate, maybe look for a different quest, maybe go earn some Divine Stones, you name it. The point was that they wouldn’t stay there for long and would only come back once they thought enough time had passed.
Of course, none of them expected that another one of the twelve Primordial Demon Beasts could be inside. Was that a coincidence? Obviously not! How could they have arrived in A1, such a ridiculously gigantic Universe, thousands of times bigger than Lisan, and yet be so close to the area where this beast was imprisoned? That’s definitely the Destiny Attraction working its magic.
"Hum... perhaps we should contact Yuan?" Rean asked.
Yuan was the Demon Beast that Rean helped back when they met the Charybdis Queen, a Horned Cloud Shark. He ended up receiving the Bloodline that was being used to imprison the Charybdis Queen’s Soul.
"He should still live in that area even now, and I have his CD number. This is the good thing about the Werdlem Network, it reaches all its Universes," Rean continued. "He could go talk to the Charybdis Queen while we talk to him. Then, we can ask more about the Chronoblade Serpent. Who knows? We might gain something from this."
[Are you planning to free the beast then?]
Roan wasn’t very interested. "If we free that thing, it might impact the Werdlem Empire itself. It could attract a lot of problems for us."
"I know," Rean nodded. "But you have to admit it. 3400 Celestial Points would be a great payment for us. Not only can we buy the new upgrades, but we can also add more levels to the older ones. It won’t cost us much to simply check with the Charybdis Queen."
Roan accepted the idea in the end. "Fine, call Yuan and have him check the Charybdis Queen. She’s probably still there since she will need a very long time to recover even a fraction of her power."
Roan then prepared to leave. "As for me, I’m going to talk to Ximao and have him prepare an excuse for us to leave early. We still need Sister Orb to check the formations for the Future Realm."
*Zush!*
And so, he disappeared from the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm.
Rean didn’t waste time, taking his CD out and calling Yuan.
---
Back in Universe F976, the Saramina Sea Demon Palace had undergone a major change since the twins’ group left many years ago.
With his added Charybdis Bloodline, Yuan’s cultivation and strength skyrocketed. Above all, he got Tana, the Golal Shark he liked, to be his partner. By now, he has far surpassed Drefin, who was the previous Saramina Sea Demon Palace Leader, taking his position as the new leader over a hundred years ago.
His life was quite good, and under his leadership, the Saramina Sea Demon Palace’s influence was now much greater, now capable of having its opinions heard in the entire continent instead of just the country of Rusbav.
There was a thing, though. Yuan’s cultivation speed was truly much higher than others’. If he wanted, he could have ascended to the Divine Realm of the Universe F976 by now, but he didn’t. He was waiting for his partner, Tana, to reach the necessary cultivation level, and only then would they go together. Likely, his oldest child would take the mantle of leader once he is gone.
Today was another day like any other, where he trained in an empty area of the Saramina Sea. If there was one thing Rean drilled into his mind, it was to never slack off. So, even though he couldn’t raise his cultivation, afraid of ascending ahead of time, he was determined to get stronger by other means.
But then, Yuan noticed that the Spatial Bracelet on his fin reacted. He stopped his training, checked inside, and saw that it was his CD that was ringing. ’Hum? That’s rare. Everyone knows they should never bother me during my training sessions.’
He opened his CD, not bothering to even check the ID of the caller. "If you don’t want to be part of someone’s dinner table, you’d better have a very good reason for interrupting my training."
-Oh! Now, that’s unexpected. I’ve never thought I would hear such an overbearing remark coming from that afraid little Horned Cloud Shark from back then.’
Yuan froze in place, quickly checking the ID on the CD this time to confirm. Too bad the ID was completely different from what he knew. Nonetheless, Yuan just knew it. He would never mistake that voice. "R-Rean! Hole shit! Aren’t you dead?! I heard you got swallowed by a blackhole or something like that!"
Back then, the twins’ group was indeed swallowed by the blackhole, but not a real one. It was just an aftereffect of a broken formation. From that point onwards, everyone thought the twins’ group was dead. It happened during the investigation of the Werdlem Empire’s Main universe. And who was leading the investigation? Rifindio, obviously. Many things had happened since then, and now Rifindio was the Universe Owner of F976. Nonetheless, it was still believed that the targets of Rifindio’s investigation back then were dead.
-You got news about that? You must have gained a lot of influence since the last time we saw each other. My little Yuan has grown up so much, Dad is happy.-
"Your ass! Who the hell is Dad?" Yuan cursed back.
-Hahaha!- Rean, obviously, laughed in response. -You truly have changed a lot. The old you would never have retorted like you just did. Oh, don’t get me wrong. I think it is a good thing. You severely lacked confidence back then.-
"Yeah, yeah, yeah... Could you please not bring someone’s dark past to the surface?" Yuan felt helpless. "I’m a well-respected Sea Demon Beast now, alright?"
Rean was happy for him. -Alright, little Yuan. I won’t touch that topic anymore. Instead, I need a favor from you.-
"Obviously," Yuan expected as much. "Go ahead, say it."
-Cool. Please go pay a visit to the Charybdis Queen. I need to talk to her, and she doesn’t have a CD.-
