Chapter 3979: Sister Orb’s Work
Of course, the twins’ group had been showing their skills for a while, so when they disappeared during the last months, some wondered why they didn’t come back anymore.
Well, that was all there was about it. The Runia Continent still had many of its experts in the capital, and a few more of them arrived close to the start of the selection. After all, there were ten slots for Elemental Space Realm, five for Space-Time, and one for Divinity.
The same was for everyone else, and by the time the selection day arrived, the number of experts in the facility tripled. There wasn’t anything wrong with that, and the fact was that most of the powers didn’t have their real top talents taking part in those small challenges at all. Regardless of how impressive those in the Space-Bending Realm were, the real strength was obviously in those with higher cultivation realms. The twins’ group was quickly forgotten because of that.
The facility where the challenges were taking place was used again, but a new room was opened for all the participants. This one was many times larger than the previous space and was also manipulated through the use of Spatial Formations.
Rean and the others arrived there sometime after the place was opened, passing their IDs as new members of the Qufis Continent and getting inside. Those who took their places in the Divine Military Academy registry arrived around an hour earlier and were already in the facility.
"This Future Realm is truly highly coveted. Look how many experts there are here..." Rean commented.
Foliana was also surprised. "Indeed. The fact that laws don’t get messed up inside truly attracts a lot of interested parties."
It didn’t take long for them to find the many cultivation checking formations at the back, hundreds of them lined side by side, and a Formations Master from the Riquicious Empire overseeing each.
However, that wasn’t what caught the twins’ attention. Instead, at the ceiling of that room, which was hundreds of meters high, there was a kind of circular room with various windows. Anyone inside there could easily oversee the entire place from up above.
Inside, the Rean and Roan could see a man with some demon beast features. Green-blueish skin, sharp eyes, weirdly shaped head... but, above all, the Divine Sense Bending Skill was all they needed to know that that Demon Beast in humanoid form was the Celestial Realm Expert from Tombassin Sect.
The twins didn’t mind checking the man, as many of the experts in that room were also looking in that direction. How could they not? That circular-windowed room and the experts inside weren’t exactly being inconspicuous. Anyone could tell they were likely top experts from Riquicious and other top powers of this region of the Divine Realm. Even so, everyone inside there seemed to be acting very respectfully towards that Demon Beast.
’That’s likely the guy Ximao talked about,’ Krue’Suan suddenly said through a Divine Sense message. ’His name is Vuccu, a Sky-Whisper Mantis. The Sky-Whisper Mantis is a demon beast with a humanoid form capable of completely hiding its presence by manipulating Divine Energy. Unlike stealth-oriented beasts that rely on shadows, illusions, and such, the mantis becomes one with the air itself, invisible not because it hides, but because it harmonizes.’
’You know a hella lot about him, no?’ Rean pointed out.
’This is no secret. Vuccu is indeed a Divine Demon Beast, or insect, if you wish. But if you compare his race with other Divine Demon Beasts, the Sky-Whisper Mantis actually ranks pretty low. They aren’t as rare either,’ Krue’Suan explained. ’It’s just that Vuccu has pushed that ability of his to the extreme and even managed to reach the Celestial Realm.’
’I see...’ Rean nodded.
It didn’t seem Vuccu was paying much attention to anyone in particular, which was good for the twins’ group. At least it seemed like he didn’t notice anything wrong with them. Of course, the twins’ group members had different appearances, auras, and IDs. However, their cultivation was not being suppressed, so there was no need to worry about it.
Sometime later, no one else seemed to come. An opening appeared on that circular room on the ceiling, and a man floated out, stopping above the formations that would check everyone.
"Welcome to my Riquicious Empire. My name is Ligili, and I’m a member of the Riquicious Imperial Family. The Future Realm is about to open again, and we need to decide who will be entering it. First, to ensure no one is trying to mess with the rules of the Werdlem Empire, everyone’s cultivation and ID will be tested by the formations. Please, come forward and step on the formation one by one. If everything goes as planned, it shouldn’t take more than two hours to finish the checkings."
He then pointed to the back. "Those who are here just to escort their experts, please move to the back. Spectators must not intervene with the process."
Krue’Suan and a bunch of other experts immediately moved to the back of that room, using their Divine Senses to watch the procedures ahead.
Once the spectators left the crowd, Ligili continued. "Good. The selection will start now."
Several queues began to form, and the twins’ group obviously joined one of the hundreds available. Still, their Divine Senses were focused on the six Space-Bending Realm youngsters who would be checked in their place for the Runia Continent.
Hijie, the woman from the Divine Military Academy who came with Krue’Suan, was curious about why the twins’ group didn’t appear. Fortunately, Krue’Suan explained to her that they got too much attention during the gatherings before the selection, so he worked something out to keep them hidden for a while. He only told her that they were there, but wouldn’t show themselves.
Hijie knew the potential of the twins’ group. After reporting Krue’Suan’s actions, she received an order to keep an eye on the selection’s development but not to intervene. From the looks of it, Ximao also worked on his side to make sure the Runia Continent’s Countries wouldn’t cause trouble for the twins either.
Rean and the others were quite far behind on their queue, which they did on purpose. They wanted to wait for the Space-Bending Realm youngsters to take the cultivation check first and see if Sister Orb would be able to work the ID swap like she said she would.
’Sister Orb, the first one of them is entering one of the formations,’ Rean warned Sister Orb inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm.
[Yes, I can see it. Don’t worry.]
Without anyone noticing, the ID used by him was not the only one registered in the formation. Still, the results on the terminal in front of the formation showed the correct name and cultivation.
That didn’t mean those six youngsters wouldn’t pass the test. Instead, Sister Orb had both them and the twins’ group’s IDs passing the test at the same time. Otherwise, it would be weird if those youngsters were refused later on because their names weren’t there.
One by one, all six took the cultivation test, and as expected, nothing wrong was found with their cultivation realms.
[It’s done. All six of you are now accepted.]
’Good.’ Roan was satisfied. ’It’s us next.’
’Just a quick question,’ Foliana remembered something. ’Rean, Roan, Kentucky, and Celis aren’t really Space-Time Realm experts. Instead, you have that ’Sky Space-Time Realm’ cultivation now, don’t you? Won’t that be a problem?’
[It won’t,] Sister Orb affirmed. [That was one more reason for me to hack into the formations, to prevent any discrepancies from appearing.]
Foliana nodded. ’I see. You are doing a great job, Sister Orb.’
[Hehehe! Obviously!]
Soon, the twins’ group arrived at the cultivation check formation, and Sister Orb made sure nothing wrong happened. Just like that, they could now take part in the selection.
