Chapter 3982: Full Speed Ahead!
It wasn’t anything surprising that they could make it through the spatial storm wall, considering their abilities. As long as the Silver Lightning Bolts weren’t the real deal, they would be fine with enough time.
As they exited the storm wall, the distortions in time and illusions of future possibilities disappeared quickly. They didn’t pay much attention to that, though. That’s because on the other side, they noticed various giant glass-like slabs drifting through the skies and the ground.
When using their Divine Senses to check some of those, they saw something that looked like another world, or maybe a dimensional realm. Yet, they interacted with the land around them.
For example, one of those slabs passed by a mountain in the distance, and although the mountain was intact in the real world, it had collapsed inside the slab world. In another direction, at the fringes of their Divine Sense ranges, there was the start of a dead forest land. Yet, inside the slab passing near it, the forest was alive, a green scenery.
[Alright, according to the descriptions of the Future Realm, those glass-like things are called Temporal Plates. They show different futures that never materialized. However, they aren’t like the illusions of yourself as you came into the Future Realm.]
Foliana, as a lover of history, had also read a lot about the Future Realm before they entered it. "Exactly. From the looks of it, those plates are the reason for the laws in this place to be stable."
Rean remembered what Laiana, the Charybdis Mother, said. "Laiana commented that the Chronoblade Serpent is a Primordial Beast made of plates of time. She also said that the laws that made the Future Realm stable came from those plates, of the possible futures behind them. That said, what we are seeing right now are actually parts of the Chronoblade Serpent’s Body."
"Just how many of the experts entering this realm know about the real origin of those plates..." Kentucky couldn’t help but wonder. "They probably think they were born of some time phenomenon instead of a primordial beast."
Rean and the others nodded.
Then, Rean was about to take something out from the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, but he stopped. That’s because someone had just entered the range of their Divine Senses and was flying in their direction. The man was in the Space-Time Realm Late Stage, but that was all they could tell.
The man didn’t seem to want to cause any harm, though. No killing intent color could be seen. He just landed in front of them, opening his CD and asking. "Names and Continent of Origin."
The twins’ group looked at each other. "What is this about?"
The man narrowed his eyes, seemingly impatient. "What else? I have to report everyone who makes it through the Storm to the Riquicious Empire, idiots. That way, the empire can report to your own continents about your success in getting to this side in case you don’t do so yourselves."
"Oh, there was indeed something like that..." Celis commented, having heard it from the other Demon Plants he had befriended. "The Riquicious Empire contracts several experts to enter the Future Realm and report on everyone they find. They will have to leave before the 32-hour time limit outside is over, though. After all, they were not given any slots from the various continents. But, above all, they have experience getting through the storm wall, and they are paid quite well for it. There should be quite a few more of them in other places, just waiting for more participants to enter."
Well, that was just as good. After all, they wanted everyone to think they had made it through and were cultivating here. Once they come out and show their Space-Time Realm cultivations, no one would find it strange.
"I see, thank you for your efforts, senior. Even if you have experience, it is still a risk to get through the wall." Rean said with a polite expression.
The man nodded slightly, liking Rean’s manners. "It’s fine. Alright, go ahead and tell me. I will also need to verify your Werdlem Energy Signatures."
Kentucky couldn’t help but ask. "Does that mean the Werdlem Network Signal can get inside the Future Realm?"
The man confirmed. "Yes. However, due to the time difference, it is quite hard to have a conversation, so try to just use written messages if you need to contact anyone. My colleagues and I are only collecting this information because there are those who try to pretend they died or didn’t make it through. As to why, everyone has their own reasons, so I don’t care. I just need to make sure I find as many of you as possible."
The man returned to the main topic after that. "Alright, as your Demon Plant companion said, I will have to leave before the Future Realm closes. I will pass the information to the Riquicious Empire once I’m out. Also, it is not just 32 hours in here; it is 32 hours outside. Here, I have around 100 to 150 days more or less, since time here runs much faster. Anyway, compared to you guys, who will spend over ten thousand years cultivating in here, those few days are pretty much nothing. I just need to wait for the final moments, and I can get out of here to get my payment."
"Right..." Rean remembered. "Senior Ligili mentioned that making your way back was extremely easy. Only coming inside was dangerous."
"Yes," the man nodded. "Now, let’s get over with it since I have more participants to mark down."
They provided the man with their IDs, and the guy passed a token to each of them. "If you find someone else asking for this information before the Future Realm wall closes, just show this token to them. They will understand you already gave your information."
As soon as he said that, he took flight and shot in another direction. The twins’ group could see with their Divine Senses that another expert had just made it through the storm wall.
Rean looked at that token, sending it into the Dimensional Realm. "Is there a point?"
Roan also sent his token inside. "Probably politics. The more participants who get through, the more their backgrounds can use that information to their advantage. For the top powers, like the Riquicious Empire itself, that is a lot of leverage."
"Shall we go then?" Kentucky asked. "It is better if we take distance from this place so we don’t bump into anyone else. We still have a serpent to look for."
Everyone agreed, and they jumped on Kentucky’s back. The Minokawa took flight, shooting further into the Future Realm.
As Kentucky did that, Rean took out a weird device from the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. It looked like some kind of clockwork, with a single needle that didn’t stop moving, like a broken compass. Still, the various gears and such seemed to work just fine.
"Is this..." Foliana noticed that thing.
And Rean nodded. "This is the device, or kind of, that senior Laiana taught me how to build. It’s just that there is a problem."
Rean looked around, seeing the many temporal plates and sighing. "Senior Laiana said that as long as I got close to Xyrath’s Time Plates, this device would point out the direction. Well... it seems like the entire Future Realm is full of these Temporal Plates floating everywhere. So, as you can see, this device went completely bonkers."
Kentucky looked at Rean. "Which means, we have no idea which direction I should be flying, right?"
Rean shrugged. "We can only give it a try and see what happens."
Roan narrowed his eyes in response. "We aren’t really staying in this place. We only wanted the powers outside to think we entered it and cultivated up to the Space-Time Realm while inside. Just like that guy said, we have around 100 to 150 days before we need to leave. Otherwise, we will likely have to wait in here until we are expelled over ten thousand years later."
"Well, then let’s start." Rean didn’t want to give up. "Kentucky, full speed ahead!"
