Chapter 4041: Lots of Friends
The Great Void Shifter was activated, thousands of Divine Stones were used, but no flash of silver light followed. This was not a teleport formation, after all. It used the Abyssal Paths. Suddenly, a dark tunnel appeared, followed by a dark energy that enveloped Rean and Kentucky’s group.
The Shifter wasn’t called that for nothing. It swapped everything in two points of space almost instantly. Rean and Kentucky disappeared, being replaced by the empty space from the other side.
---
The A1 Universe’s Divine Realm is so big that even its central area is enormous, having tens of thousands of multicontinental powers. That was just the tip of the iceberg, though. Each of these powers also controlled hundreds, if not thousands of other continents just outside the central area. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that those at the top had almost unlimited resources.
That also explained why paying to get one of them to support you was so damn expensive. They didn’t have any need for more Divine Stones, for example. The things used for these contracts were usually rare treasures of various kinds. Or, the most acceptable method, a very, very long time of service.
The main clauses had the Celestial Realm in mind. If you managed to reach the Celestial Realm after going to BH1, your contract would usually stipulate even longer terms of service. There was no lack of Divinities, you know? If they failed, they would still have to work for their backers for a very long time, just not as much as successful cultivators who reached the Celestial Realm.
Going back to Rean and Kentucky, they appeared on the Zentian Empire’s main continent, which also bore the same name. There were a few experts waiting for them there.
No, to be more specific, they weren’t waiting for Rean and Kentucky’s group. Void Shifters used to travel inside of A1 were pretty much all connected to faraway continents, and without permission, you couldn’t come to the Central Region. Those experts were there to make sure those who arrived could really be there.
Rean and the others came down for the shifter, Rean and Kentucky feeling the presence of a Celestial Realm Divine Sense. They weren’t worried. When they were asked if they had the necessary credentials, they simply brought out their blue cards.
"Tombassin Sect Recruitment Cards, uh?" The guard in charge of the shifters nodded. "Each card allows for two extra companions. Have you brought anyone else inside your Pocket Dimensional Realms? Don’t try to be sneaky. If you brought anyone in illegally, they will have to access the Werdlem Network with their IDs sooner or later. Our systems will flag that ID without credentials here, and they will have to answer for it. You, especially, will also be punished for being the ones who brought illegal immigrants."
*Zush, zush!*
Roan and Celis immediately appeared outside. "It’s only the two of us."
They passed their IDs to the guard, who nodded and added their information. They were now considered to be here as companions of Rean and Kentucky. They had four cards before, but they gave two to Tanxan and Foliana, so they had to use this method to explain Roan and Celis’s presences.
Derfiu and Hoblio also brought out their cards. Xixie didn’t have one, so she was registered as part of Derfiu and Hlobio’s group. She wasn’t the only one. Since each card allowed you two extra companions, Derfiu and Hoblio brought another three experts from Riquicious with them.
"Good. Everything is in order. Welcome to the Zentian Empire."
Celis and Roan disappeared right after, going back to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. Then, Rean turned to Xixie, smiling at her. "Well, you are our guide here. Why don’t you show us the way?"
Xixie nodded respectfully. "Yes, seniors. Please, follow me to the teleport formations. The Zentian Imperial Palace is located in a unique area solely designated for it."
As they walked through the Formations Guild, Rean took the chance to ask. "So, what will happen now? There are a bunch of princesses or whatever fighting for that prince’s hand, right? How will they decide who will become his wife?"
"That’s where Hoblio and I come in," Derfiu spoke from there. "We will be paired with Xixie as her advisors, and we will face the Zentian prince. The same will happen for all candidates. Finally, the prince will test us however he feels right. Until he decides how to do it, no one knows what will happen."
Xixie nodded. "As senior Emmanuel mentioned back in Riquicious, to even get a chance to stand in front of the prince, we needed to show that we at least have someone in our rankings with potential to become Celestials. In A1, having at least a Celestial Realm Expert is all that matters, you see? So, Senior Rean and Kentucky will need to back us up once we get to the palace and state our intentions. After that, all you need to do is watch. The rest is up to us."
Rean and Kentucky looked at each other. "That was a lot simpler than we thought."
Xixie was happy to hear that. "We are already gaining a lot by just having the two seniors help me. You truly appeared at the right time. Had you been even a week later, we would have lost this opportunity. We simply couldn’t get in contact with our two Divinities at all, the two who aborbed their Celestial Laws. The prince will meet everyone in the next five days."
For Rean and Kentucky, it couldn’t have been better. They are here to meet Havira, and since they will be free of duties, that will give them more than enough time.
They got to the teleport formations a few minutes later. Once again, they had to present their cards to be allowed to teleport to the palace. This time, there was a flash of silver light, and they disappeared.
The Zentian Imperial Palace could be considered a small city in itself. Had a size of several tens of kilometers, located at the very center of the continent. The closest city was almost ten thousand kilometers away, which was pretty close considering the average distances in the Divine Realm.
A gigantic array of various formations surrounded it, with hundreds of towers, facilities, and other residences within. At the center, the main palace stood apart, taller and bigger than anything else around. Perhaps calling the palace a city would be more fitting. There were truly many cultivators of all kinds of races walking around.
However, they all wore the same clothes, showing that they were part of the Imperial Palace’s workforce.
On a gigantic open field, many teleport formations could be seen, and even a few Great Void Shifters. There was no need for the place to be covered as the formations around the city kept the changes in the weather outside.
Finally, one of those formations activated, and Rean and Kentucky’s group appeared.
’Wow...’ Kentucky couldn’t help but be amazed. Not because of the Imperial Palace, though. ’I can feel at least thirteen Celestial Realm Divine Senses with the bending skill.’
Rean nodded. ’Zentian has a backer in the Werdlem Universe, so they can definitely send many guys to BH1. Considering Zentian has been around for a very long time, it makes sense they have this many Celestials.’
"Please, state the reason for your visit." Another expert asked them as soon as they arrived.
Xixie looked at Rean and Kentucky. Obviously, they had to do it. "We came here with our princess for the selection of the prince’s wife in five days."
The man nodded. "Werdlem IDs and proof of background."
There was no need for both Rean and Kentucky to do that, so only Rean gave his ID and showed his card. In his Werdlem ID, it already stated he was with the Riquicious Empire and that he had absorbed his Celestial Laws.
"That is enough." The man didn’t waste time with them and accepted their group. However, Rean could definitely see a look of derision on the man’s face. Nothing strange there. He probably saw where Rean’s group came from and thought of them as country bumpkins.
"I’ve added your IDs to the Palace’s System. You have also been allocated a residence, which you can find in the information I will send to your CDs. The rules of the palace are straightforward. Your Werdlem IDs give you limited access to the various areas of the palace. All you have to do is use your IDs, and the formations and doors will open. If they don’t, that simply means you have no access to them. Other than that, you are free to do as you please. Of course, as long as you don’t cause trouble. Any questions?"
Rean nodded. "Is it possible to get in contact with the other candidates and their entourages? I think there is a lot to gain here."
The man quickly passed another link to Rean’s CD. "Everyone’s residence locations are marked there. You can go to each one of them if you want. As to whether they will receive you or not, that is not the palace’s problem."
That was more than enough for Rean and Kentucky. "Thank you, friend. You were very helpful."
