Death… And Me

Chapter 4120: Key to a Long Life

Chapter 4120: Key to a Long Life

Celis changed into his real form. "Sister Orb, open a tunnel to the Dimensional Realm for me."

[Oh! Okay!]

The tunnel opened with Xyrath and Hick watching from the inside.

Then, Celis's Roots began to envelop the Sphere, but especially the many veins connected to it. At the same time, Celis's Roots also entered the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, spreading far and wide.

That Starlight Energy wouldn't work for cultivation, but that didn't mean Celis couldn't absorb and redirect it elsewhere. In the next instant, a massive amount of Starlight Energy began to pour into the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm.

Well, the twins were already in the Celestial Realm, and the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm grew in size with each realm breakthrough. Right now, it was as big as an entire galaxy! Celis could pour as much Starlight Energy inside as he wanted, and it wouldn't feel a thing.

Time passed, and a few hours later, the Sphere's White Light began to diminish a little. It kept trying to absorb the Starlight Energy from the veins, but the energy coming from them was getting sparser and sparser. Celis's Roots kept growing, spreading everywhere in that room. At some point, it was hard to even see a single vein, as they were all covered by Celis's Roots.

Finally... it stopped! The Sphere couldn't get a single iota of Starlight Energy from its veins anymore. As a result, not only it, but the entire structure seemed to suffer from the lack of Starlight Energy.

The Sphere itself still had a lot of it, and it kept feeding the other functions of the structure on its own, causing the Sphere to grow dimmer and dimmer.

"If it continues like that, perhaps there won't be a need to destroy it," Rean commented. "It will just crumble on its own."

Roan wasn't that patient, though. "Let's accelerate things."

Rean smiled, and he joined Roan, with Kentucky following right behind.

Herbert felt his heart skip a beat, and he quickly ran out of the room again. If just Roan's aftermath was enough to kill him, then he doesn't want to see what it will be if Rean and Kentucky also attacked the Sphere.

'Red Death, Death Scythe!'

'Red Life, Lightning Emperor Sword!'

'Kawa's Divine Thrust!'

*Swah, swish, bang!*

All three attacks landed on the Sphere at the same time. Now, it wasn't just a tiny ship that came out of it. Instead, several huge cracks quickly spread.

However, the Sphere shone with more Starlight Energy, and the cracks began to close. It's just that it was using its own reserves of Starlight Energy to repair itself, causing it to get even dimmer.

Roan nodded slightly. "That's more like it. Take this shit down."

The twins' group kept the assault going, and the Sphere began to fall apart as it tried to recover. It was indeed a product of the Celestial Plane. Even without its source of Starlight Energy and with Rean, Roan, and Kentucky attacking it, the Sphere still took almost twenty minutes to reach its limit.

Nonetheless, it eventually lost.

*Crack, crack, crack...*

*BOOM!*

The Sphere exploded into countless shards, and the shards themselves began to disappear into specs of light. From the looks of it, the Sphere wasn't made of a physical material, but from some kind of condensed Starlight Energy instead.

*Crack, crack, crack...*

The Sphere wasn't the only thing that began to fall apart. As soon as it fell, cracks started to appear all over the structure that kept Soltrex imprisoned.

Soltrex watched as the chamber he had been locked in seemed to fall apart, rays of light from outside entering it for the first time in eons. Soltrex wouldn't give it a chance for something to happen and hold him there, so he focused all his power on the biggest crack he could find and slammed into it.

*BOOM!*

From outside, one could see the enormous Mist Manta Ray blasting out of the enormous pyramid, its body casting a huge shadow on the ground. The twins' group quickly appeared outside as well.

Then, the last thing that was kept intact with Soltrex's Starlight Energy also began to collapse: the Dimensional Realm!

Everyone watched as Spatial Cracks popped everywhere, space turning into pure chaos. One could easily see the Spatial Storms behind the Fabric of Space. This place wouldn't last intact much longer either.

"We need to get out, quick!" Herbert shouted to all of them.

Yet, no one in the twins' group seemed that worried.

"It's just a collapsing Dimensional Realm. At most, we will end up in some random corner of the Universe. Well, it would be bad if we suddenly appeared inside a Black Hole, though." Rean said, flying leisurely to Soltrex with everyone else.

Soltrex looked at them. He still hadn't forgotten their deal. "Send me in. I need to have a 'little talk' with a certain someone."

Rean and Roan nodded. "Our pleasure."

*Zush!*

In the next instant, Soltrex's gigantic body disappeared.

*Ahhhh!!*

Herbert was suddenly caught by one of the Spatial Cracks and tried to escape from it with everything he had.

But then, Kentucky simply waved his wing over the crack, and it closed as if it had never been there. "Come on, Herbert! Are you really a Divinity? Did you forget you use Spatial Gates all the time?"

*Gasp, gasp...* Herbert wanted to cry. "You... You don't understand the life of the average person. When we open a Spatial Gate, we create a stable passage, and nothing here is stable at all!"

Kentucky shrugged. "Average, uh? In the eyes of 99.99% of the population, a Divinity like you is anything but average, but who am I to talk?"

Rean and Roan approached them. "Well, shall we go back? This place is falling, no doubt."

"Isn't there anything you can use, Rean?" Celis asked out of curiosity. "This prison was something from the Celestial Plane, after all."

Rean shook his head in disappointment. "It was definitely made to be used against Soltrex. Now that he is gone, everything is breaking apart. Nothing remains that can be used."

Roan thought for a moment. "Since that was the case, it means the Werdlem Empire was already expecting the Primordial Demon Beasts to attack back then. I very much want to talk to Default and understand why the attack happened."

"But Default is just the one who passed the orders forward, no?" Kentucky remembered that part. "He is the guy who can receive the orders from who knows where or who, and the Primordial Demon Beasts simply follow it. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't know anything."

Roan refused to believe that. "Hmph! We will see."

"Hey..." Herbert, who was sweating all over, couldn't help but ask. "How long are we staying here? Can we leave before everything collapses, please? You guys probably can survive it, but I can't, you know?"

Everyone decided to do what Herbert said, and they quickly exited the realm, once again appearing inside Herbert's cultivation chamber. Only then was Herbert able to calm down. "Sigh... I thought I was going to die there. What will happen to the Mist Library now?"

Rean spoke the obvious. "What else? It is gone for good. Unless, of course, Soltrex decides to build a new one as he did before."

Herbert was still lost. "Alright... So, can anyone explain to me just what it was all about?"

"It depends," Roan commented with a cold smile. "That would likely put you as a main target of the Werdlem Empire, especially the Emperor himself. Do you want to hear the full story?"

Herbert swallowed hard. "You know what? Ignorance is bliss. By the way, who are you? I've never seen you before. I've never seen any Soltrex. I'm absolutely never speaking his name anywhere, including the Werdlem Network, ever again."

Roan was satisfied. "Knowing your limits is the key to a long life. Well done."
