Death… And Me

Chapter 4131: Who to Send?

Chapter 4131: Who to Send?

Lisan Universe, over thirty thousand years after the twins disappeared...

Things had been progressing well for Lisan Universe ever since. As part of the Garisan Universe Deal, the Semi-Celestials were told about the secrets to breaking through into the Celestial Realm.

Well, one could guess the shock they felt when they heard about the Great Void Black Holes. That was something they simply couldn’t find inside Lisan Universe. If you were to give Lisan a Rank like the Werdlem Empire’s Universes, Lisan would definitely be at the bottom of the F-ranked ones. It could never sustain the presence of a Great Void Black Hole.

That couldn’t be helped. First of all, Lisan didn’t have a Divine Realm of its own. What it had was Hyeoumu’s back, which acted as something similar, but by far smaller. Then there was the problem of the Universe being split in two for ages. That definitely didn’t help with the Universe’s development.

It wasn’t all bad, though. A good after-effect of the split and then later fusion was the improvement of its own Chaos Origin Source. Just like Universes, Chaos Origin Sources also have their own rankings and development rates, and Lisan Universe’s source would definitely be considered similar to a D or C-ranked Universe Chaos Origin Source.

All Chaos Origin Sources evolve over ridiculous amounts of time. But Lisan’s evolved even faster, and that was because its Chaos Origin Source had been in constant stress while the Universe was split in two. Of course, now that the Universe was unified again, the Chaos Origin Source stabilized and was growing just like any other Chaos Origin Source.

Going back to the Semi-Celestials, they were also told that what they used wasn’t really Celestial Laws, but Celestial Energy. They were losing comprehension of normal laws to do it. Of course, that still made the strongest experts in Lisan.

But the problem was the Celestial Realm Breakthrough. They needed someone to solidify Lisan Universe’s position as a vassal Universe of the Garisan Empire. And since part of the agreement to become a vassal was the help with a Celestial Realm Breakthrough, some of the Peak Stage Divinities of Lisan were brought away to spend time in some of the higher-ranked universes from Garisan.

We can’t forget that one was required to absorb rogue Celestial Laws of the same type before they could attempt a breakthrough. Absorb them, fuse them with your own laws, and then use the breaches at Great Void Black Holes to attempt a connection with the Celestial Plane.

Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky, who got their Celestial Laws from the Tribulation, were really the only ones who had absorbed their Celestial Laws in Lisan. There wasn’t anyone else... or so one believed until recently.

The truth was that there were two exceptions. One of them, surprisingly, was Roan’s own master, Kafan. Even more ridiculous, he absorbed his Celestial Laws while he lived in the side of the Universe without cultivation energies before the unification. Kafan never mentioned it to anyone, as the other Semi-Celestials might have thought he was hiding some secrets toward the breakthrough into the Celestial Realm.

Well, that was actually the case. Kafan himself thought that those Celestial Laws would be useful for the Celestial Realm Breakthrough one day, so he made sure to keep quiet. He just didn’t know until Garisan told him how to use those Celestial Laws of Dark and Death.

The second exception was the most secretive Divinity of the Universe, Rugo!

Who was Rugo?

Soul Gem’s friend. He first appeared after the twins restored Soul Gem’s Soul, which allowed Soul Gem to finally come out of the Control Orb. Rugo was the guy who took the Soul Gem away, and it seemed like Rugo had been hidden during all those years. No one in Lisan Universe knew he existed at all until that moment, and he was already a Late Stage Divinity by then.

No, that is not correct. There was one guy who knew of his existence other than Soul Gem, and it was no coincidence... Kafan!

Rugo was also a Death Spirit, and the only Death Spirit that lived in the cultivation side of the Universe before the unification. He was different from Roan, of course. He was a true Death Spirit, one that could grow and cultivate. In any case, just like Kafan, Rugo also had absorbed his Celestial Laws, although he only used Dark Laws.

And in Rugo’s case, he found his rogue Celestial Laws of Darkness on the cultivation side of the Universe, on his own.

We need to talk a little about the Celestial Laws here. Rogue Celestial Laws can appear in any type of Universe. It’s just that low-level universes, Lisan being a great example, such things are extremely rare. To make things worse for Lisan, no one knew that they needed to find those Celestial Laws and absorb them. That’s why there were almost no experts who managed to do so. In Kafan’s case, that was pure luck. In Rugo’s case, he knew about them due to his relation to Soul Gem.

Since no Divinities were looking for their Celestial Laws, and the Lisan Universe does not have that many Divinities to start with, it is pretty obvious why no one had them. Until the moment Garisan explained everything, the search for those laws had never happened.

Thus, a select group of Divinities was sent to some of the high-level Universes from Garisan to look for those Celestial Laws there. As for Kafan and Rugo, now they had no reason to hide the fact that they already absorbed the Celestial Laws necessary.

Both of them also left the Universe, and are waiting to use the Great Void Black Hole of the Garisan Empire. Of course, as one can imagine, that didn’t come for free. The deal with Garisan only said that Garisan had to tell everything about how to break through into the Celestial Realm. It never included the use of the Great Void Black Hole. And payment for it came in the form of many years of services or other resources from Lisan Universe.

In any case, Lisan Universe was progressing slowly to grow its own strength, and relations with Garisan were fairly amicable. Well, no one was a fool. It was pretty obvious that Garisan wasn’t attacking because of the costs of taking down Lisan Universe. That was the case after the war ended, and it is even more so now.

The Soul Gem Dimensional Realm, which was left behind, still had its direct connection to the Chaos Origin Source and the formation that extracted all the energy for cultivation. That was a cultivation paradise still.

Now, one might be wondering about becoming a Celestial by using the Universe Root Egg. Garisan naturally spoke about that method. It would be a lie if someone said that Lisan didn’t consider this. The Semi-Celestials definitely tried to find that egg. Unfortunately, they already knew the truth, even if Soul Gem and Kafan hadn’t said anything. After what the twins’ group did during the war, they were certain they had it. Yes, that was the Control Orb where Sister Orb’s sentience lived.

In any case, Lisan Universe was doing just fine, and if Kafan or Rugo managed to break through into the Celestial Realm, it would be even better. Of course, there were those ones mentioned before who left to look for their Celestial Laws in higher-level Universes from Garisan, but that would require time.

It’s in that same Lisan Universe that Hyeoumu had his eyes closed, seemingly in his usual hibernation state. But then...

"Hum?" He felt something inside his Pocket Dimensional Realm changing, and he hadn’t touched anything inside for a while. Then, an item that looked more like a lantern appeared outside. Hyeoumu looked at it, his expression showing a rare hint of surprise. "That was faster than I expected."

That was obviously the Soul Flame container, and the Soul Flame inside had just extinguished. That was the signal to send someone to the Werdlem Empire to talk about Hyeoumu’s real body location. "Now then... who to send there?"
