Chapter 4143: An Idea
Rean wasn’t the only one acting at that moment. Kentucky and Celis each went to one of the Sea Demon Beast powers to play the same thing. They followed the same strategy as Rean. They didn’t buy a fight with anyone.
Instead, they offered something that the leaders of those powers simply couldn’t refuse. Obviously, a Celestial Stone each. As mentioned before, they received a few from Dofrei, thirty, to be more specific. There were five controlling powers in this Ocean, and considering that the prize was Hyeoumu’s real body, it was worth the investment.
One might be thinking, what if the one who finds Hyeoumu’s real body decides to not speak about it? Well, the twins’ group tried to resolve it. One of the things the twins’ group did as they gained the support of the five powers was to offer an impossible-to-refuse reward to anyone who found the right turtle.
So, in the following days, the Sea Demon Beasts, the Spirits, and the humanoids spread all over the Cloco Divine Ocean. Anyone who was at least in the Void Tempering Realm and above helped with the search. Well, almost everyone. Those in the Space-Time Realm and above considered such a task unbefitting of their status and refused to help. There were obviously those with lower cultivation who thought it to be a waste ot time or that they would never be that lucky.
Rean didn’t mind it. The higher the cultivation, the lower the number of experts available. Anyone at the Space-Time Realm or above was just a tiny percentage of those tasked to look for the small turtle. If anything, lower-level experts were actually better. After all, Hyeoumu’s body couldn’t be detected with either Natural Spatial Perception or Divine Sense. You had to touch his body directly.
A month quickly went by in the Cloco Divine Ocean, and the search continued nonstop. Since the twins’ group got all five powers helping, there was no need to ask any of them to invade someone else’s territory. Each power was tasked to look for the small turtle inside their own areas.
However, that didn’t mean that the weird search didn’t catch the eyes of the surrounding forces. As mentioned before, there were five Big Powers in Cloco Divine Ocean, but they were far from being the only ones. After a while, word got out that the five powers were looking for that so-called turtle, and that it would change into a deep jade color if infused with Divine Energy from a Void Tempering Realm or above.
Was that a bad thing? Of course not! The twins’ group was well aware that this information would be impossible to conceal. There were way too many experts from the five powers looking for it. If anything, it would be weird if the smaller forces of the Cloco Divine Ocean didn’t find out about it.
Instead, they just had the five powers release a statement saying that the reward for whoever found the turtle would remain the same, regardless of whether they were part of the five big powers or not. That only helped to increase the frenzy, and the entire ocean had Void Tempering Realm and above experts looking for the turtle.
Yet...
---
Forty-two years later, things began to slow down a little.
"Still nothing, uh?" Rean sighed, looking at the reports from everyone. "I thought that with this number of experts looking for Hyeoumu’s body, we would find it pretty fast. There are literally millions of Void Tempering Realm and above experts looking for it."
Roan had his arms crossed as he looked at the same report. "We can’t forget that there is a chance Hyeoumu’s Body was found, but the discoverer kept it for himself. Whoever it is might be thinking that he has a lot more to gain from the turtle."
Kentucky shrugged. "It is not like we had a better choice. If we didn’t involve the big five, we would stay here forever until we find Hyeoumu. Still, would someone really think that?"
"The reward we are offering would make anyone between the Void Tempering and Elemental Space Realm go to war to acquire. Why would this someone bet on something he knew nothing about instead of exchanging it for our reward? Whoever it is would have no issues reaching the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm with the reward we are offering."
Roan knew that. "I just said that the possibility exists. I still don’t think someone would really try to keep the turtle."
"Say..." Celis thought of something. "Perhaps Roan is right, and someone already found Hyeoumu’s body. However, what if it is someone from one of the smaller powers of Cloco Divine Ocean? Perhaps he or she is afraid to come out and say they have the turtle. Considering the forces involved in this search, I would definitely be scared out of my mind if I were some average Void Tempering Realm expert without any worth background."
Everyone went silent. That seemed quite possible, didn’t it? As big as Cloco Divine Ocean was, there were just way too many experts searching for it to not have been combed entirely by now. There were, obviously, some dangerous places that few could really enter, but the twins’ group didn’t just sit by and wait. They entered those places themselves and checked every corner. At their level, there wasn’t really anything that could threaten them in this Ocean.
"That would be another reason for the difficulty of the task of the quest, too," Hick commented. "Especially its reward. How would we lure this expert out? Considering, of course, that this is truly the case, which we can’t be certain."
The silence resumed as they considered that possibility. To lure that expert, they would also need to offer absolute safety and a guarantee that the payment would definitely be made. Above all, they would require anonymity to make sure the one who receives the reward won’t be found out. What’s the point of receiving the reward with a low-level cultivation if everyone knew you got it? That would only make you die very fast, that’s for sure.
Then, Nyxara spoke. "Hum... I think I have an idea."
