Death… And Me

Chapter 4281: Not At All

Chapter 4281: Not At All

"Experiments," Rean commented.

"Yes," and Flantoihy confirmed. "We also think this is all some kind of experiment."

They didn’t speak, but if there were really experiments going on, could there truly be an Intelligent Godly Creature out there? That was what they thought.

Roan turned around, preparing to leave. "In any case, we reported everything we know. These events you mentioned are something that Anchor Gods like us can do little about."

Flantoihy saw that and turned to Fonken. "The same goes for you. There isn’t much you can do in this regard. The Godly Subjulgation Guild and other organizations are already working to develop countermeasures. Instead, you all should go to the Treasure Hall. The reward for completing the mission has already been deposited, with the taxes reduced, of course. There is, as you can imagine, a good bonus for taking down the Godly Predator."

Fonken and Zuary were happy to hear that, and they headed out as well.

However, just as Roan was about to leave with Rean and the others, he left a little warning. "I think I don’t need to say this, but I will anyway. Godly Predators, even if new ones, were supposed to be quite rare in this area of the Celestial Plane we are in. Yet, they keep appearing one after another. When the next Godly Creatures’ Horde attack, pay attention to these hidden Predators. I wouldn’t be surprised if a group of Predators suddenly appeared in one of the battlefields without being detected."

Flantoihy was aware. "We know. That’s why we and the various powers are working together to develop alternative detection methods. Go back and rest, cultivate, etc. Just know that missions should become a lot more frequent, and the sect is likely to go after the disciples instead of the disciples coming to the missions hall to look for them."

After that, the twins’ group went to the Treasure Hall with Fonken and Zuary. At the end of the day, they killed only one Predator, which meant there was only a single Godly Predator Crystal. That wasn’t something that could be divided between them, let alone take 30% for taxes. That said, each one of them gained a bonus of twelve Godly Beast Crystals to make up for it.

It didn’t look like much, but considering there were six of them, that was definitely worth the Godly Predator Crystal and a little bit more even.

Finally, the twins’ group bid farewell to Fonken and Zuary before they went back to their residences to prepare to cultivate. With the addition of the Godly Crystals of the mission and the bonus, the twins’ group had almost 200 Godly Beast Crystals and 800 Spawn ones.

Anyone at the Anchor God level would be absolutely jealous of such a fortune. Aura Gods could definitely accumulate that amount, but they would take several months of hard work. That only reinforced people’s belief that it was good to be able to use Intent Weapons at lower levels. They knew nothing about the Sanctuary and the twins’ group’s ability to look like real Godly Beasts.

The twins’ group wasn’t made of idiots. They had no intention of taking those crystals on missions. So, just like before, they went to the facility with the cultivation arrays. It was time to cultivate again, and they would let everyone see they were using pretty much all their crystals. Everyone did that anyway.

Now that they were Anchor Gods, they could absorb crystals much faster, especially Celis. The array’s help only increased their cultivation speed. They stayed there for four weeks straight, and other Anchor Gods who went there for the same reason almost cried after seeing the difference in fortunes.

Godly Beast and Spawn Crystals kept breaking one after another after losing their Godly Energy, and the twins’ group was starting to create a small pile of those broken crystals around the formation. Obviously, they paid to use the arrays, so some of their crystals went back to the sect.

Almost 200 Godly Beast Crystals and 800 Godly Spawn Crystals disappeared... Well, not all of them. This time, the twins’ group kept a few more crystals, just enough to buy what they needed, like Rean’s Array Materials or Roan’s Pill Herbs.

As for their cultivation...

"So many crystals, and all we managed to do was increase our cultivation by a single stage?" Kentucky complained, already understanding all the work they would have to put in to cultivate the higher realms.

Celis wasn’t as disappointed, though. "You are looking at it in the wrong way. First of all, our trait of having much bigger pools of energy is still the same here in the Celestial Plane. Because of that, we need more energy to achieve our breakthroughs, but it also makes us stronger than those at the same level. It is actually an extremely important trait since we can’t use anything other than Godly Energy for combat."

He continued. "Besides, we did have 200 Beast and 800 Spawn Crystals, but there are four of us! So, it is more like we had around 50 and 200 for each of our cultivations. It isn’t that big of a number. I’m very satisfied we managed to get a single stage at all."

Kentucky sighed anyway. "Still, I can’t help but feel like we are lagging behind others with the same resources."

"Enough complaining," Roan got up, circulating his energy. "The restrictions of the Celestial Plane have disappeared a little more. It will be easier to get Godly Crystals outside. What do you think, Sister Orb?"

[That’s correct. Like I said before, think about the restrictions as a percentage. 100% of the restriction force is present at the Celestial Realm. Then 75% at the Anchor God Realm Initial Stage, and now, 50% at the Middle Stage. That is a very good boost in strength. Your energy pools also increase with each stage, so there is that too.]

Rean stretched a little, feeling quite good. "We did in a few months what other new ascenders take years to complete. You are truly complaining without reason, Kentucky."

Then, Rean took some of the remaining Godly Crystals. "Alright, I will use some of the crystals we kept in my next project. I’m going to the Arrays Guild."

"Next project?" Kentucky got curious. "Which one?"

Rean smiled. "The airplanes are fucking expensive, so I’ll make us a new one."

"Really?!" Kentucky felt a little emotional. "And here I thought you would work me to the death and use me as a transport forever. Nicely done! Make a cool airplane!"

"We intended to use you," Rean shrugged. "Unfortunately, you can only fly like a normal bird at the moment, so it would take too long. I truly wasn’t thinking about your well-being at all. Only about your speed and resistance."

Kentucky’s happiness disappeared. "You could have just lied, you know?"

"Would you have believed me if I had said that?" Rean countered...

...which Kentucky had to admit. "Not at all..."
