Death… And Me

Chapter 4284: Enjoy

Chapter 4284: Enjoy

That was likely the most ridiculous offer the man had ever heard. But before he could refuse it, Rean already walked past him, moving in the Array Materias’ direction on the ground. The old man looked at that, speechless. Then, finally, he snapped out. "W-Wait! Where the hell do you think you are going?! Get the fuck out!"

Too bad, Rean had already taken a few of the materials on the ground. "Now, pay attention."

Then, Rean worked on making a few repairs in the runes the man was trying to use. Each movement was delicate and precise. Watching it closely, the guy couldn’t help but hold his words. He finally saw where the problem was, a problem he didn’t even notice when he made the runes.

Less than a minute later, Rean threw the rune to the old man. "Give it a try now."

The old man swallowed hard and closed his eyes as he sent his Celestial Energy into the rune. Let’s not forget that only the twins’ group cannot use anything but Godly Energy. Others can still use Celestial Energy normally, which they do, except for cultivation.

Finally, the rune gained life, and the flow with its core lit up. No sparks, stable power. The old man quickly moved to the Array he was building and added that rune. He needed more of those, but he could conduct a test with a single one for a short moment.

The Array also turned on, and the rune acted as the link that controlled the flow of Lightning Element. Of course, the old man turned the Array off a few seconds later, seeing that the rune he just put there wouldn’t be able to sustain the entire Array alone. "It really works..."

Rean smiled. "Told you, the third and seventh conduits’ connections were not done properly."

The old man sighed, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t angry. "Alright, let’s stop the bullshit. What the hell do you want? No, first of all, who are you?"

"I’m Rean Larks," Rean introduced himself. "May I know your name, friend?"

The old man nodded. "I’m not your friend, but you can call me Araujo. So, what do you want?"

"Simple," Rean’s smile increased. "I want to build a new Airplane. Buying one is too expensive, and it wouldn’t have everything I want in it. That said, I’d better make one myself. Too bad I’m still just an Anchor God at the Middle Stage. I would need to be an Aura God and Array Master Level Two to make a functional airplane."

Araujo narrowed his eyes. "That is obvious. In fact, even if you are a Level Two Array Master, it would still be hard to put an airplane together. Just having the blueprints of the Guild Network wouldn’t be enough. Energy efficiency is a big thing here."

He continued. "That makes your appearance here even more meaningless. I’m nothing but a Level One Array Master. I still can’t craft Level Two Array Runes, let alone the hard ones."

"I know," Rean saw that already. "But you are already an Aura God, and a Middle Stage one at that. That is enough."

Araujo was already feeling a headache. "What is enough?! Are you deaf? I can’t make Level Two Array Runes, and the ones you will need for a functional airplane are very annoying. Listen, thank you for showing me where the problem with my runes was. Because of that, I won’t report you for breaking the door device. However, I can’t help you here."

"On the contrary!" Rean looked confident. "I only need a week of your time, and I can make you become a Level Two Array Master. Give me two months, and you will be crafting those hard runes for my airplane as well."

Araujo felt even more skeptical. When something looked too good to be true, it usually was. "Let’s pretend that such a thing is really possible. What’s the catch?"

"I told you already!" Rean insisted. "I need you to help me build a new airplane according to my specifications. Hum... Well, to be honest, I don’t think calling it an airplane is entirely correct. It will look... different... from what you are used to seeing here in the Besgol Region."

"That’s it?" Araujo asked back. "Are you sure? I will warn you. I won’t pay for absolutely anything. If you intend to scam me of my Godly Crystals, you’d better look for another target. You won’t see a single Besgolar from me either."

"Oh, that’s obvious. It’s an airplane for me, so how can I charge you for anything? I will need your commitment, though." Rean was ready to fork up the costs. "Put a pause in this Array you are working on. I’m going out, and I’ll be back in an hour or so. When I’m back, we can start your... improvement... nicely and calmly."

Then, Rean ran out, leaving Araujo behind with a weird expression. "This has to be some kind of joke."

Araujo wondered whether he should really stay there. One week for him to become a Level Two Array Master? That obviously sounded ridiculous.

Truth be told, Araujo had tried to reach Level Two countless times already. He simply didn’t have any talent for it. The Array he was working on right now was a challenge to himself to see if he could get a step further as a Level One Array Master, that’s all.

He liked Arrays. They distracted him. So, even though he wasn’t pleased that he couldn’t raise his level, he was happy enough that he could work with them. He even spent quite a bit of his Godly Crystals on the materials for these formations.

Araujo looked at his Array, struggling with whether he should truly just put it away. However, the idea of really reaching Level Two simply didn’t leave his mind. He was certain Rean was speaking bullshit, but he couldn’t bring himself to just leave this place. "Fuck!"

Finally, he put a pause in his project and sent all the materials into his Spatial Ring. "I must look ridiculous right now."

Sure enough, Rean was back around an hour later. He waved his hand, and a pile of materials fell to the ground. There wasn’t anything good there. If anything, those materials were the worst you could buy, to the point some shouldn’t even be sold. "Look at how lucky you are! I just got you a huge pile of treasures! There is no need to thank me, though. Enjoy!"

Araujo’s mouth twitched. If that was a treasure, then he doesn’t want to see what a pile of trash looks like.
