Chapter 4304: Project
There were still two problems Roan wanted to clarify first, even with Rean’s idea.
’First, you said it could reach the speed of a Godly Predator, but if the Raven is actually a Godly Horror, would we still be able to pursue it?’
Rean wasn’t concerned about that at all. ’Even if it is a Godly Horror, would it really fly back at full speed? No, of course not. I don’t expect it to move any faster than a Godly Predator level creature. It won’t be in any danger to begin with.’
’Very well,’ Roan accepted that explanation as a possibility, and a very good one at that. Then, he brought up the second issue that had crossed his mind. ’What about hiding? You said you can reproduce your Light Bending Skill in the airplane. But wouldn’t the airplane itself still be detectable through the Godly Creature Senses?’
’That depends,’ Rean continued. ’The airplane would release Godly Pressure to disguise itself as a Godly Creature. The Light Bending would hide its true form, so we should be fine on that front. The real issue begins after the Raven starts flying back toward its nest. At that point, it would definitely notice the Godly Pressure following closely behind it.’
’Fortunately, that problem can also be resolved rather easily. Godly Creatures sense each other’s presence from great distances because of the Godly Pressure they naturally release. We already confirmed that much through our tests.’
’That said, once we fly outside the hordes’ range, I can simply deactivate the airplane’s Godly Pressure feature and keep only the Light Bending active. We would disappear from the Three-Eyed Raven’s senses completely. As long as we don’t get too close, we should be able to follow it all the way back to its nest... or at least, that’s what I hope. I’m sure confident, but there are no guarantees here.’
The good thing was that the twins’ group wouldn’t need to worry about the Three-Eyed Raven’s Heavenly Rejection ability. They still hadn’t confirmed their theory yet. However, if they were correct and the Raven truly couldn’t activate its Heavenly Rejection, then they should be able to see it normally and follow it from a safe distance.
’Okay...’ Celis also had a question. ’Now we have a way to approach the Raven, avoid detection from the horde, and then avoid detection from the Raven once it starts flying back to its nest. But... how exactly are we going to find the Raven in the first place? For a moment, I thought about spreading our Godly Senses around, and once we received a backlash from its ability, we would know it was nearby. However, the ability wouldn’t even be active to begin with, so there would be no backlash at all.’
For that, Roan already had an idea. ’Don’t worry. If we can move around safely in an airplane, then finding the Raven won’t be that difficult. I just need to take a look at the overall battlefield map, and I should be able to pinpoint the best locations for the Raven to stay. After all, it needs to confirm how many enemies are gathered on the other side. It must have some kind of vantage point from where it observes the battlefield.’
Roan was grateful that information about the hordes was always transmitted through the network in real time, helping cultivators coordinate their movements. That would become his main weapon when trying to locate the Raven. Of course, being able to fly around safely was an absolute necessity. If they were limited to moving on foot, that plan would never work.
’Alright!’ Rean stopped the discussion there. ’This is all we need to know for now. From this point onward, I will need everyone’s help gathering Godly Crystals. There are plenty of things I want to buy and add to our airplane. Just so you know, it will definitely end up costing more than the airplanes already available for sale.’
’It’s a necessary investment,’ Roan didn’t complain in the slightest. The advantages vastly outweighed the financial burden. ’Celis, Kentucky, from now on, we will take missions together. Just give me a week to work on what I discovered during my last mission, and then we are heading out again.’
Celis was always willing to do anything that earned him more Godly Crystals, even knowing Rean would spend many of them on the airplane. ’Sure, no problem.’
Kentucky... well, Kentucky was still Kentucky. ’Maybe Rean needs some help here, right? I can help! I think!’
Rean thought about it for a moment. ’Hum... I actually do need someone to validate the properties of the hundreds of thousands of runes. It’s boring as fuck, and it will take forever, so thanks for volunteering.’
’Ah! Now that I think about it, I also need to get used to fighting after our breakthrough. Sorry, Rean. Seems like I’ll be going with Roan and Celis instead.’ Kentucky changed his mind instantly.
Rean simply smiled and shrugged. He wasn’t lying about the validation part, only about the time it would take. In truth, it wasn’t nearly that time-consuming. ’Is that so? That’s also a fair point.’
Their conversation ended there. Even so, Rean still wanted to help the Besgol Region, so he sent the theory they had developed about the Ravens to the Godly Subjugation Guild. Anyone was allowed to submit new findings, even without definitive proof. Considering how many beings lived throughout Besgol, the guild received numerous theories and reports every single day.
Rean received a reply a few days later, but the guild confirmed that they had already considered the same possibility before. The issue was that there was nothing they could realistically do about it, since pursuing the Three-Eyed Raven outside the Sacred Relic’s Influence was practically suicide, even for Law Gods.
Rean wasn’t surprised by that response. It made perfect sense that the Besgol Region had already investigated the reasons behind the Ravens’ appearances. Naturally, Rean said nothing about his airplane or his intention to make it resemble a Godly Beast through the release of Godly Pressure. The only reason he could even attempt something like that was because he possessed a cultivation technique that could serve as the foundation for his runes. No one else in the Besgol Region had access to anything similar.
Before leaving, Roan was contacted by the Godly Subjugation Guild, too. It turned out that the Zone Gods had failed to capture the Aberration alive. It wasn’t because they had killed it, but because the creature was already dead by the time they arrived. Its abnormal body had finally reached the point where it could no longer sustain its own life.
The Anchor Gods, as expected, had already become nothing more than lifeless piles of bones. No one Roan left behind had survived.
There was, however, an interesting piece of news. Of the three eggs Roan had intentionally left intact, only two were still there, both dead. In the end, they had failed to hatch. As for the third egg, there was no trace of it anywhere nearby. The Zone Gods couldn’t confirm whether the creature inside had survived or not. Still, considering it was the offspring of an aberration, the chances of it surviving for long were probably very low anyway.
At the very least, they managed to recover the aberration’s carcass. Since it had died only recently, it could still be used for research purposes, so Roan received a few Godly Spawn Crystals as a reward, and so did Wurshan and the others. Roan immediately sent those Godly Crystals to Rean so he could begin purchasing the other materials required for the airplane.
Rean could have simply sold some of the Astryte Ore Kentucky had acquired, but he chose not to. That ore was extremely difficult to find, and the airplane alone would already consume a considerable amount of it. On top of that, he would still need reserves for future maintenance and possible repairs.
Roan, Kentucky, and Celis departed a week later, taking several missions near the Besgol Region just in case they needed to retreat quickly. The group was now fully committed to building that airplane rather than focusing solely on cultivation.
