Death… And Me

Chapter 4343: How?

Chapter 4343: How?

Meanwhile, back in Turanzo Country, near the border connecting it to a country called Furtin, the thirty-two advancing Godly Horrors immediately sensed the disappearance of the Sacred Relic’s suppressive power. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

At the same time, the tiny yellow lizard riding atop the massive bull-like Godly Creature also seemed to notice the change.

Almost instantly, its small body began to shine with intense golden light.

The golden radiance rapidly spread outward, flowing directly into the bodies of all thirty-two Godly Horrors nearby.

In an instant, their auras exploded upward.

The disappearance of the Sacred Relic’s suppression had already restored their original power. The little lizard’s support only amplified their strengths even further.

*Kzzzz...*

The little lizard let out a strange cry that sounded almost like a command.

And the reaction was immediate.

All thirty-two Godly Horrors suddenly accelerated forward at terrifying speed. Their movement instantly became more than three times faster than before.

At that pace, they wouldn’t even need five hours to arrive at the center of the Besgol Region. More specifically...

The Sacred Relic itself!

---

Back at the frontlines in Terno Dore, both Arcis and Tobao naturally noticed the moment the Sacred Relic’s power disappeared.

"Impossible!" Arcis shouted in alarm. "Tobao, what happened?!"

Tobao narrowed his eyes slightly while continuing to face the berserk Godly Horror attacking them nonstop. "The Sacred Relic has stopped functioning," he replied calmly. "We’ll have to put even more effort into stopping this Godly Horror now."

Arcis looked at him in disbelief. "Who the hell cares about this Godly Horror right now?!" he shouted angrily. "The entire Besgol Region just lost the Sacred Relic’s protection!"

However, Tobao still charged forward. His fist shot out, creating several afterimages in the air as he attacked the Godly Horror once more.

"Just keep fighting," Tobao said firmly. "This creature is already pushing itself far beyond its normal limits. Once we kill it, we can worry about everything else afterward. If we retreat now, the cultivators on the battlefield will suffer catastrophic losses. This is the real place where we would suffer the most compared to the low-level beings on the path of the Godly Horrors."

Then he added coldly, "So stop thinking about the rest and keep attacking."

Naturally, the disappearance of the Sacred Relic’s influence immediately affected all the cultivators fighting on the frontlines.

The Godly Creatures became significantly stronger, while the cultivators themselves were further weakened by the increase in Godly Pressure.

Without the Sacred Relic suppressing the Godly Pressure anymore, natural Godly Pressure instantly spread throughout all of the Besgol Region once again. Even worse, the Godly Creatures on the battlefield continuously released their own Godly Pressures, causing the concentration around the warzones to increase even further.

Fortunately, the cultivators previously stationed in Turanzo had already been relocated to Terno Dore earlier. Because of that, the defensive forces there possessed a much higher number compared to before, allowing them to barely maintain the defensive lines against the remaining hordes.

Even so, the atmosphere across the battlefield had completely changed.

Everyone was apprehensive.

By now, practically every cultivator in the Besgol Region had already received the news that the Sacred Relic had stopped functioning.

That meant the countless Godly Creatures lurking outside Besgol’s borders would immediately begin invading the region from every direction.

At that point, it no longer mattered whether it was Terno Dore, Turanzo, or any other country.

Every nation in Besgol would soon be forced to mobilize all remaining forces to defend themselves against the incoming waves of creatures.

Fortunately, there was at least one small temporary advantage.

The Godly Creatures scattered across the other sides of the Besgol Region wouldn’t have enough time to organize hordes either. Because of that, they would likely enter the region in smaller, scattered groups rather than giant hordes, giving the cultivators a temporary chance to resist.

At the same time, Tobao used his authority to send a region-wide message through his RC.

According to the announcement, the Sacred Relic was already being repaired. However, the restoration process would supposedly require at least one full day to complete.

Until then, everyone was instructed to hold the lines no matter what.

---

"Hahahaha!"

Far away from the Besgol Region, Ranka burst into loud laughter.

Since he still possessed puppets hidden in different areas of Besgol, he naturally had access to the regional network through them. He had already seen Tobao’s public announcement claiming the Sacred Relic would require at least one day to recover.

"We have an entire day!" Ranka said with obvious satisfaction. "Nazzun, don’t waste this opportunity. Have those pieces of trash destroy the Sacred Relic before the repairs can finish."

Nazzun nodded immediately.

"Obviously," he replied. "Still... now that the Sacred Relic is inactive and we’re this close to Besgol Region already, shouldn’t we personally join the attack? The chances of success would increase dramatically. Nothing could stop us there, after all."

However, Ranka simply shook his head.

"No," he refused immediately. "I thought about it too. But you know exactly what would happen if beings like us openly revealed ourselves while attacking a region this small and weak."

His eyes narrowed slightly afterward. "Do you really want those monsters to come after us?"

Nazzun’s expression instantly darkened.

In the end, though, he reluctantly shook his head. "No... I don’t."

Only then did Ranka smile again.

"It’s fine," he reassured Nazzun. "The damage I caused inside the Sacred Relic should keep it disabled for quite some time. Truthfully speaking, the destruction should’ve been enough to leave the relic unusable for several days, not just a single day like that human Tobao claimed."

Ranka then snorted coldly. "Tobao probably lied to avoid causing panic throughout Besgol."

Nazzun became curious afterward. "They definitely left experts guarding the Sacred Relic after exposing the puppets," he pointed out. "So how exactly did you cause that much damage without being interrupted?"

Ranka’s smile widened further. "Because it was impossible to stop a self-destruction."

Yes.

The final puppet Rean intentionally left alive under Tobao’s orders...

Had exploded!

---

Meanwhile, hidden somewhere deep within the central region of Besgol, an enormous array suddenly began to shine brilliantly.

An absolutely monstrous amount of Godly Energy rapidly converged into the array, all of it coming from numerous Godly Predator Crystals positioned around the gigantic array.

The few Array Masters present there watched the scene with shining eyes. What was happening at that moment was likely something that had never happened before.

Or perhaps it had happened once in the distant past, so long ago that no records of it remained anymore.

Things calmed down a few minutes later. Not long afterward, a rather common airplane slowly rose into the air from that hidden location.

Then, without hesitation, it shot forward at high speed.

Its destination was directly ahead of the incoming Godly Horrors.

More accurately, it was heading straight toward the exact route the Godly Horrors would take to reach the Sacred Relic.

The airplane clearly intended to intercept them.

However, there was something extremely strange about its chosen route.

Rather than meeting the Godly Horrors far away from the Sacred Relic, the airplane was instead flying toward a location relatively close to the relic itself.

That was incredibly dangerous.

After all, if even a single Godly Horror escaped past the interception force and reached the Sacred Relic, the relic could genuinely be destroyed for real.

Even so, the airplane never altered its course.

---

Several hours later, back at the frontlines in Terno Dore, the Godly Horror fighting Arcis and Tobao was finally beginning to run out of energy.

Both Tobao and Arcis could already see victory approaching. Yet despite its worsening condition, the Godly Horror still refused to retreat. Normally, these creatures fled the moment they sensed true danger to their lives.

This one, however, appeared completely consumed by madness.

"This fucking thing is beyond annoying!" Arcis cursed loudly.

Tobao remained calm while continuously switching between offense and defense whenever opportunities appeared.

Then suddenly, his RC received a message. The moment Tobao read its contents, his eyes lit up. A rare, refreshing smile appeared on his face.

’They accepted.’

Immediately afterward, Tobao distanced himself from the Godly Horror.

"Arcis, finish that thing off yourself," Tobao suddenly said. "I need to leave now. In its current condition, you should already be more than capable of protecting the frontline alone."

And without waiting for a response, Tobao immediately shot away from the battlefield.

Arcis was just about to curse at him again when his own RC suddenly received a message as well.

The moment he saw its contents, his expression froze in complete disbelief. ’How the hell did Tobao manage to do that?!’

Meanwhile, the thirty-two Godly Horrors continued advancing at maximum speed. The tiny yellow lizard still appeared to be controlling all of them simultaneously, its gaze sharp and focused.

Finally, far in the distance, the massive structure of the Sacred Relic slowly came into view.

Its enormous black-and-gold body towered over the horizon like a heavenly structure descending into the mortal world. However, compared to when Rean and Kentucky first arrived there, the Sacred Relic now looked dull and lifeless.

Naturally, that was because its power remained inactive.

*Kzzzz!*

The little lizard let out another strange cry.

Instantly, the Godly Horrors became even more agitated.

*ROOOOOAR!*

Without holding anything back anymore, all thirty-two Godly Horrors exploded forward. Their energies surged wildly as they prepared to unleash their strongest attacks against the Sacred Relic itself. They intended to take that floating structure down in a single go.

Far away from the Besgol Region, both Nazzun and Ranka observed everything through the lizard’s senses.

The smiles on their faces widened further.

At this distance, they believed nothing could stop the Godly Horrors anymore.

"It’s over," Ranka declared confidently.

Yet, just as the horde was about to reach the Sacred Relic...

A small airplane suddenly crossed directly into their path.

Under normal circumstances, the Godly Horrors wouldn’t even bother glancing at something like that.

Yet all thirty-two of them abruptly stopped. Instinctively, they sensed danger. Then the airplane opened.

One after another, twenty-six figures flew out from inside.

The moment their auras spread outward, the surrounding world itself seemed to brighten.

Watching through the lizard’s vision, both Ranka and Nazzun instantly lost their smiles.

"Impossible!" Nazzun shouted. "Law Gods?! Where the hell did they come from?!"

However, Ranka quickly forced himself to calm down.

"Forget about it," he immediately ordered. "We only need one Godly Horror to break through and destroy the Sacred Relic. They only have twenty-six Law Gods while we have thirty-two Godly Horrors. Without the Sacred Relic active, they should actually be the ones weakened by the Godly Pressure. They stand no chance against our Godly Horrors."

Then he roared. "Don’t give them any opportunities!"

The little yellow lizard instantly shone with golden light once more.

Its energy poured into the Godly Horrors again.

At that point, the enhancement was already causing serious damage to the Godly Horrors’ bodies. Yet in exchange, their strength increased once more.

*ROOOOAR!*

Without hesitation, the Godly Horrors charged directly toward the Law Gods.

The Law Gods themselves looked extremely apprehensive. They fully understood they still remained at a major disadvantage despite their numbers.

Even so, not a single one of them retreated. Not because they were prepared to sacrifice themselves. But because they knew this disadvantage would only last for a few moments longer.

*RUMBLEEEE!*

Before the first Godly Horror could even clash against the Law Gods...

The situation changed once again.

Far behind them, the previously dull and lifeless Sacred Relic suddenly lit up brilliantly.

Its immense suppressive power exploded outward across the region once more, instantly targeting everything containing Godly Pressure. Not only that, a golden-white barrier, one never seen before, also took shape around it. The Sacred Relic had a protective array prepared ahead of time!

All thirty-two Godly Horrors suddenly felt as though divine hammers had smashed directly into their bodies.

Their power plummeted instantly!

Far away, Ranka and Nazzun’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

"What the hell?!" Nazzun shouted in disbelief.

"How did they repair it so quickly?!" Ranka roared.
