Death… And Me

Chapter 4390: Where To?

Chapter 4390: Where To?

That was something Rean had learned how to do while working with the other Array Masters.

Even back in the Sunkan Planet, where Rean reincarnated for the first time, he could already use energy outside his body. There were no such restrictions there, nor were there during his entire cultivation life in Vinx Great Void.

Here, however, only at the Aura God level could he do that, a restriction he had never felt before other than in specific moments, like inside formations and such.

That said, he used the other Array Masters that worked for him to do the manipulation of energy while he worked on the rune. It wasn’t perfect. The number of times Araujo and the others felt like crying because of Rean’s verbal bullying during such moments was countless.

Nonetheless, he managed to make it work. A way of creating Level Two Runes without the need to be a Level Two Arrays Master. Well... Fohui could barely be considered an Arrays Master, so it was a lot harder to get him to manipulate the energies and elements right.

"For fuck’s sake! Why are you letting the Godly Energy escape into the seventh link?"

"Holy shit! Can’t you just keep the flow of element into the rune’s core steady? What kind of shit control is that?"

"Man, you are doing it on purpose, right? Right?! Who the hell would snap the bridge connector between these runes as you did?"

Fohui was a calm spirit. He barely ever talked, and sometimes Harksha’s group even forgot he was there. However, he was reliable and had been a member of Harksha’s team for many years already.

Today... today was the first day that Fohui truly felt his soul boiling! Was there a need to keep humiliating him like that? Fohui was getting closer and closer to killing Rean instead of trying to help.

However, it wasn’t a completely helpless situation. Rean was harsh, but after the verbal abuses, he provided the perfect guidance to get Fohui’s shortcomings fixed. That made Fohui quite conflicted with this situation.

In the end, Fohui decided.

’First, fix the airplane. Second, kill Rean. Yes, let’s go with that plan.’

Rean felt like laughing, though. It wasn’t the first time he saw the red color of killing intent coming from the Array Masters that worked for him. They all wanted to skin him alive, but they eventually accepted the advantages of the ’training’ session.

---

*Glang... dum...*

The airplane was lifted again and pulled closer to the collapsed tunnel. That was already the hundredth time it had happened since everyone began to dig their way out of the tunnel.

Since Rean said it would take days to get the airplane into flight condition, no one there was in a hurry. Harksha, Roan, and everyone else made sure to recover their energies after they were saved and stay in tip-top condition since then, just in case something happened.

That said, it had already been three days since the excavation started, but they had dug more than half the distance.

Well, it was still quite slow, but not because anyone was slacking off. Instead, these ruins were truly resistant, and moving them out of the way while securing the tunnel required quite some extra effort.

*Clack-ti!*

Rean connected another Light Bending Array Plate to the airplane’s hull, nodding in satisfaction. "And with this, the light-bending feature is back to full working condition."

Not too far behind him, a rather dull spirit also looked at the same thing. The killing intent it had toward Rean had disappeared a long time ago. In its place, only a worn soul remained. ’Doesn’t he ever get tired...?’ Fohui couldn’t help but wonder.

Rean didn’t give him time to think about such things for long, though. "What are you spacing out there for? Come on, we still have to finish the Celestial Thrusters. The charging of the runes should be ready."

Fohui would probably bitterly smile if he had a body. Too bad he was a Spirit. Well, others could still see how dull his energy looked, so they could imagine his predicament.

---

*Rurururu...*

The wall of rubble in front of Roan and the others suddenly fell, and from behind, they could see some light appearing. After more than five days of constantly but purposely slow digging, they finally made their way back to the entrance of the tunnel. All of that while making a tunnel of the size of the airplane so they could carry it as well.

If one is imagining why they didn’t simply put Rean’s airplane inside his Spatial Ring, that’s because they needed the airplane’s disguise array to fool the guardians. Once inside the Spatial Ring, the guardians would definitely find their presence again and attack without question.

*Zush, zush, zush, zush, zush, zush...*

Various guardian cores immediately rushed through the opening, flying out of the tunnel and disappearing into the distance. They never tried to get out of there by force. If not for Harksha’s group, one would wonder if these cores would simply stay in there forever.

Yet, not all the guardian cores left the tunnel. Fifteen of them stayed behind with everyone else.

Was it because they wanted to?

Of course not!

Inside the airplane, there were fifteen new compartments, each one of them with a size that matched the guardian cores. At the moment, several arrays were absorbing the cores’ Godly Energy and feeding the airplane’s systems instead.

None of them tried to escape, at least not actively. The cores tried to fly out of the compartments, but the compartments held them in place. To tell the truth, these guardian cores had more than enough strength to simply burst out of the compartments. Yet, they didn’t. They simply hit the walls of those compartments gently before bouncing around. There was no doubt that while no threat was found, they simply didn’t do anything remarkable at all. They accepted having their Godly Energy absorbed.

"Now, that’s what I call green energy. Hahaha!" Rean couldn’t help but laugh at his own joke... and he was the only one. He decided to not pay attention to that detail.

Kentucky was puzzled and asked through their soul connection. ’How are you absorbing the Godly Energy of the other cores? The first one made sense since you used the Sanctuary to cut its connection with the ruins. Then there was that weird energy that we believe was the thing used to control the guardian cores.’

’Now, however, you didn’t use the Sanctuary on these other cores, so shouldn’t they be fighting back against your attempts to rob them of their energy? The first core did exactly that before the Sanctuary.’

Rean obviously knew that. ’Indeed, they should. However, here’s where my clever genius takes place. I’m using the first core’s energy signature to make the request for Godly Energy to the other cores. I tried to do it to get energy from the ruins directly, but that one didn’t work. Anyway, while we have the first core, I can use its ID to get energy from the ruins by using the other guardian cores as bridges.’

Kentucky finally understood. ’I see...’

---

Roan ignored all that and just focused on the outside. Seeing that everything seemed okay, his mind entered the Orb System, just for a message to appear.

[107:41]

That was the time the system would continue to stay in its hibernation. As to what was going to happen after, he didn’t know.

---

The airplane was pulled out of the tunnel, looking as good as new. It only lacked its original light-blue and golden colors.

*zzuuuuuUUUU...*

The Celestial Thrusters turned on, and the airplane took off from the ground, hovering a meter above.

"Well then, everyone inside!" Rean said with a smile. "We can depart now. So, where do we go?"
