Chapter 4448: More
As the airplane resumed its flight, Lukay remained silent for a while before finally turning toward Roan.
"There’s something I still don’t understand. How were you able to completely ignore the Sondrel Pardal’s rotting ability? That fog is the reason those creatures are so troublesome to deal with."
Roan didn’t even look away from the map displayed inside the control room. "The answer is simpler than you think. The fog itself is merely a Dark Element ability. It doesn’t possess much destructive force on its own. As long as I wasn’t directly wounded by its talons or beak, there wasn’t anything inside that fog capable of affecting me."
Lukay found it hard to believe. "That doesn’t make sense. Plenty of Dark Element cultivators fought Sondrel Pardals over the years. Every single one of them was still affected by the rotting ability. Sure, their Dark Element affinity reduced the effect compared to other cultivators, but none of them could simply fly through the fog like you just did."
"Hmph!" Roan snorted. "They just weren’t as proficient at manipulating Dark Element as I am. That’s all there is to it. It has nothing to do with the Echo of our Great Void, if that’s what you’re trying to figure out."
Touché!
That was exactly what Lukay had been wondering.
Ever since learning about the twins’ Great Void, he found himself instinctively connecting every strange ability they displayed to their mysterious Echo. Roan, however, denied that possibility without the slightest hesitation.
"...Can the difference really be that large?"
Roan nodded slightly. "I’ve spent my entire life studying Darkness. Why shouldn’t it be?"
Lukay couldn’t argue with that logic, although it still felt difficult to accept. Instead, he turned his attention toward Rean. "You were also completely unaffected."
Rean smiled. "My case is different. My Light Element naturally suppresses Dark Element techniques, so the fog already has a much harder time affecting me. On top of that, I can also use Dark Element thanks to Roan. Although my understanding isn’t on his level, it’s more than enough to deal with something like that."
Lukay let out a helpless sigh... or so he would, if he wasn’t a Spirit.
Every answer he received only made the twins’ group appear even more unreasonable. "Is there anything the four of you actually can’t do?"
Rean genuinely thought about the question for a moment. "I still can’t use Laws." He scratched his cheek before smiling. "Maybe I’ll figure out a way once I reach the Zone God Realm. Who knows?"
Lukay immediately gave up continuing the conversation. "...Forget I asked."
The others couldn’t help but laugh.
At this point, Lukay couldn’t tell whether Rean had been joking or speaking seriously anymore. Considering everything Lukay had witnessed during the last few months, even impossible statements somehow sounded believable coming from this group.
—
Four months quietly slipped by.
Back in the Besgol Region, Tobao stood inside his monastery while silently staring at the Elite Exploration Mission assigned to the twins’ group. A trace of concern had gradually appeared on his face over the past few weeks.
No elite exploration mission should have lasted this long.
The longer cultivators remained outside the influence of a Sacred Relic, the more Godly Creatures became attracted to their presence. Eventually, every exploration team was forced to retreat regardless of their strength. Supplies ran out, accumulated fatigue slowed everyone down, and the danger increased day after day.
Because of that, Tobao naturally assumed something unexpected might have happened. After all, the memories regarding Rean’s Godly Pressure Disguise Array had long since disappeared from his mind.
He pondered for a while before contacting the newest Law God of the Voltari Race.
-Senior Tobao? Is something wrong?- Aurundi’s voice came from the Ring Communicator.
Tobao smiled faintly. ’We’re both Law Gods now. There’s no need to keep calling me senior.’
Aurundi laughed awkwardly. ’R-Right... force of habit. So, Tobao, what can I help you with?’
’I wanted to ask a small favor.’ Tobao’s expression became serious once again. ’Could you check whether a Zone God named Lukay is still alive?’
Aurundi was surprised, though he didn’t ask any unnecessary questions. -Sure. Give me a moment.-
The communication ended.
Several minutes later, Aurundi called again. -I checked his Soul Flame. It’s perfectly healthy.- He paused before continuing. -I also learned he’s currently away on an Elite Exploration Mission. Could it be he accepted that mission because of something you requested?-
Tobao slowly shook his head. ’No. I simply happen to know the people accompanying him.’
Aurundi accepted the answer. -I’ll have someone continue monitoring his Soul Flame. If anything changes, you’ll know immediately.-
’Thank you.’
The communication ended once more.
Standing alone, Tobao gazed toward the endless wilderness beyond the Besgol Region. ’I only hope all of you are safe...’
Although he trusted the twins’ abilities, remaining outside for so many months simply defied common sense.

*Pin!*
[Predators analyzed inside the Sanctuary: 97]
Another Godly Predator collapsed beneath the combined attacks of the twins’ group.
By now, the battle had ended so quickly that everyone moved almost automatically. Celis extended several roots into the dead Predator’s skull, extracted the Godly Predator Crystal, and stored it inside a Spatial Ring before giving the collection a satisfied look.
"One hundred and twenty-one crystals." He nodded. "Things are progressing quite well."
Naturally, the difference between the number of analyzed Predators and the amount of Godly Predator Crystals they possessed came from the Sanctuary’s cooldown. Quite a few times they had encountered another Predator before twenty-four hours had passed. Rather than letting such opportunities escape, Roan simply handed everyone Anti-Godly Pressure Pills before they continued the hunt.
Those kills didn’t contribute toward Sister Orb’s quest, but they certainly contributed toward their true objective.
Roan glanced toward the radar. "There seems to be another Godly Predator nearby."
Kentucky immediately leaned over. "So soon? Looks like this area is much richer than the previous ones."
Lukay nodded in agreement. "It probably means several territories meet around here. When that happens, it’s fairly common to encounter one Predator after another without travelling too far. Also... we are truly very deep into the uncharted territories, so it might be a characteristic of this place."
"Perfect." Rean smiled while activating the Celestial Thrusters once more. "Let’s keep going."
The airplane accelerated into the distance.
Over the course of four months, the group’s teamwork had improved a lot. By a lot, it naturally means the integration of Lukay into their battles. There was no need for the twins’ group to get used to each other, obviously.
They no longer needed discussions before every battle. Roan created openings, Rean immediately understood how to exploit them, Celis restricted the enemy’s movements while Kentucky struck whenever the opportunity appeared. Even Lukay had unknowingly become part of that rhythm, naturally stepping in whenever his lightning could end a fight quickly or preserve everyone else’s energy.
Looking back, he almost found the whole journey unbelievable.
When Clasou asked him to accompany four Aura Gods, he expected to spend the mission protecting a group of talented juniors... No, he 100% expected to be a babysitter and nothing else.
Instead...
Those same juniors had spent the last four months dragging him across the wilderness while casually hunting Godly Predators.
Every time he believed he had finally witnessed the limit of their abilities, they somehow revealed another impossible technique or another unbelievable invention.
Roan’s pills.
The Sanctuary Skill.
Rean’s airplane.
Their frightening teamwork.
Their mastery over their own elements, which surpassed anyone Lukay knew to have the same affinities.
One after another, they shattered everything Lukay believed should have been possible.
His gaze unconsciously drifted toward the Spatial Ring containing the Godly Predator Crystals.
One hundred and twenty-one.
Even many veteran Zone Gods would require decades to gather such wealth... if they were lucky. After all, those Godly Predator Crystals would be mainly acquired during Hordes instead of hunting outside.
The twins’ group had accomplished it within only a few months while simultaneously charting enormous sections of unexplored territory.
Meanwhile, the airplane quietly continued scanning everything below.
Mountains, forests, rivers, valleys...
The map inside Rean’s control room expanded day after day, becoming increasingly detailed as the airplane automatically recorded every important landmark throughout the region.
By the time they returned to Besgol, the contribution from this Elite Exploration Mission alone would likely surpass that of countless previous exploration teams combined. The bonus reward of the mission itself was bound to be quite good.
"Hum?" Kentucky suddenly saw something else with his better sight. "Hey, I think I’m seeing remnants of Ruins ahead."
