Chapter 4605: The Change

Truthfully, both sides had underestimated what the other could do. Roan hadn’t expected Doluno to retain so much power after being caught off guard, especially after suffering so many injuries and exhausting so much energy. On the other hand, Doluno had never expected the combined attack of a few Aura Gods to inflict such severe injuries on him, much less expected them to survive the clash.

If he hadn’t burned through his own life force, forcibly consumed more of the Region God blood’s power, and pushed his bloodline runes to their limits, Doluno definitely wouldn’t still be moving.

Rean and Roan narrowed their eyes. They had done enough for now. They immediately connected to the Great Void, intending to recover there. Their injuries were severe, but Rean’s Instant Recovery allowed them to heal surprisingly quickly. More importantly, judging from Doluno’s condition, he wouldn’t last much longer.

There was no need to risk their lives.

They could simply wait for him to collapse in the safety of the Great Void.

Aurundi was also thrown quite far away, so he should be fine.

As for Krava and Tapoqi, Celis had already drained them completely dry before Doluno broke the array. Neither of them was in any condition to fight even Lunelle at that moment.

However, just as Rean and Roan were about to enter the Great Void, they suddenly failed.

[Shit! The space has been sealed!] Sister Orb warned.

’What?!’ Rean and Roan were both taken aback. ’How?!’

[I don’t kno—wait! Those bloodline runes!]

Rean and Roan immediately looked around. The same bloodline runes Doluno had used earlier to interfere with Rean’s arrays were still scattered throughout the surroundings. In fact, with all the blood Doluno was losing, it seemed as though their numbers had increased even further.

Somehow, those bloodline runes were sealing the space around the twins’ group!

The twins didn’t know, but it was that Blob of Blood that Doluno consumed that caused his own bloodline runes to seal the space around them. They didn’t exactly have spatial powers, only the power to interfere with the environment. Nonetheless, also due to the difference in cultivation, that was enough for the twins to fail to connect to the Great Void.

’No point thinking about it now! Here he comes!’ Roan warned.

Rean gritted his teeth, doing his best to heal as much as possible.

The twins immediately raised their Elemental Intent Weapons.

Doluno’s fists arrived at almost the exact same moment, striking Rean and Roan head-on!

Even so, Rean and Roan were still Rean and Roan. They immediately positioned themselves away from the barrier so they wouldn’t have their escape route completely cut off if an opportunity appeared. Their weapons clashed against Doluno’s fists, producing another violent explosion.

*Bang, boom!*

Fire Laws and Fire Element erupted from Doluno’s fists, overwhelming the Red Lightning surrounding Rean and Roan.

The twins were thrown out of the smoke and flames, Light Element continuously pouring into their wounds as they desperately tried to keep up with the damage. Unfortunately, they couldn’t heal properly while Doluno’s Fire Laws continued burning through their bodies.

Rean and Roan kicked against the ground several times, maintaining their balance while making sure they stayed together. They had managed to resist Doluno’s previous attack only because they had combined their strength against him, and they knew better than to separate now.

Doluno obviously gave them no opportunity to recover. He immediately charged after them, intent on finishing the twins before their healing abilities could turn the situation around.

Yet, out of nowhere, a streak of yellow lightning and several frigid feathers blocked his path!

Kachia and Lukay had finally joined the battle. They didn’t know why the twins hadn’t fled into the Great Void, but they weren’t about to waste time asking questions in the middle of a fight. They could see that Rean and Roan needed help. It was also for their own good that they helped.

"Out of my way!"

Doluno extracted even more power from the Region God blood and his own life force. The additional power immediately worsened his condition, but it also caused his strength to surge once more.

*Boom!*

Lukay and Kachia were caught off guard. The shockwave alone launched them backward, but Doluno himself barely moved. He simply forced his way through their attack, his eyes remaining fixed on Rean and Roan. Not even the worsening of his injuries due to the impact could stop him.

After everything he had witnessed, Doluno had already determined that the twins were the greatest danger on this battlefield. If he could kill them, the rest of the group would be much easier to deal with.

*Cough, cough, cough...*

Rean and Roan both coughed out blood as they struggled back to their feet. There was no time to flee, and even if there had been, fleeing wouldn’t have worked. Doluno was simply too fast.

Then—

*Rawr!*

*Caw!*

Surprisingly, Luxa and Lunelle immediately jumped into the fray, appearing on Rean and Roan’s shoulders.

Doluno saw them and hesitated for the briefest instant. He absolutely did not want to harm the Eternal Day Fox and Eternal Night Raven. Unfortunately, he had perhaps twenty seconds of life remaining. "If you think I will hold back because you are there, think again!"

’Lunelle, get out!’ Roan roared through his Godly Sense.

Lunelle probably didn’t understand the words themselves, but she definitely understood the intention behind them.

’Luxa, you can’t stop him! He won’t stop! Stay away!’ Rean immediately followed with his own warning.

Yet neither Luxa nor Lunelle listened.

The two little creatures were determined to help Rean and Roan, even if doing so meant putting their own lives at risk.

And then, something strange happened.

Luxa and Lunelle’s bodies suddenly became immaterial, as though they had been transformed into pure energy. For an instant, everything seemed to slow down.

Rean and Roan watched in disbelief as the two creatures’ energies spread outward, then surged toward them.

The twins could only stare as Luxa and Lunelle submerged into their bodies.

Their energy disappeared completely into the twins, and the twins’ bodies changed!
