Death… And Me

Chapter 4616: Decisions

Chapter 4616: Decisions

Back in the Celestial Plane, the twins’ group returned to their residence, and with that, they resumed their cultivation.

First, they used the remaining Godly Predator Crystals they had accumulated. Unfortunately, after a few months of cultivation, even Celis couldn’t help but become somewhat irritated with the results. "These guys are still useful... but just barely."

Rean looked at him. "If we use only Godly Predator Crystals, how long will it take us to reach the Middle Stage of the Zone God Realm?"

Celis fell silent for a moment. They had already cultivated for several months at this level, giving him enough information to make a relatively precise estimate. "At the very least, five hundred of them, give or take."

"Of course," Celis continued, "I’m only talking about average Godly Predator Crystals. If we get Godly Predator Crystals from the strongest Predators, two hundred and something should be enough. It’s just that, as you know, we can’t exactly choose which Godly Predators we encounter when we go out hunting."

Roan nodded from the side. "We have the twenty-one Godly Horror Crystals of different levels. We will obviously start using those from now on. What do you think?"

Celis thought about it before continuing. "I’ll use the weakest Godly Horror Crystals as a reference here. A single one of them is as good as tens of the best Godly Predator Crystals we can find out there. Definitely over a hundred of the weakest Godly Predator Crystals."

"As you said, with the rewards from the Elite Exploration Mission, the compensation, and the Horrors we hunted down ourselves, the Godly Horror Crystals we have are quite varied in quality. However, I’m certain we don’t have a single Godly Horror Crystal from the strongest Godly Horrors."

Celis then took out the Godly Horror Crystal he had previously checked, the one with the highest concentration and purity of Godly Energy among their collection.

"This one definitely came from a Godly Horror equivalent to a Late Stage Law God in power. We have another two of these. Then we have six Godly Horror Crystals that came from Horrors equivalent to Middle Stage Law Gods in power."

Kentucky suddenly raised one of his wings. "Can’t we stop with this complicated nomenclature? How about you simply call them Initial, Middle, Late, and Peak Godly Crystals? We’ll know immediately that you’re referring to the same level as a Law God or whatever."

Rean, Luxa, Roan, and Lunelle all nodded. That would indeed make things much simpler.

"Very well." Celis had no reason not to follow the suggestion. "In that case, we have three Late Godly Horror Crystals, six Middle Godly Horror Crystals, and twelve Initial Godly Horror Crystals."

He continued, "Considering the energy contained in a single Initial Godly Horror Crystal, I would say we need ten of them to reach the Middle Stage of the Zone God Realm from where we are right now."

Roan nodded slightly. "We have twelve of those, which is good for us. What about the Middle and Late Godly Horror Crystals?"

Celis wasn’t entirely certain. "In the same way that a higher-level crystal provides much more for our cultivation, each cultivation stage also requires an astonishing increase in cultivation resources. Simply put, our Godly Energy Pools are just too ridiculously large."

"Of course," Celis continued, "this is one of the reasons why we are so much stronger than others at our cultivation level. It’s definitely worth the trouble. The problem is that it makes it much harder to estimate how many resources we’ll need for each stage. At the moment, I’m not sure whether the higher-level Godly Horror Crystals we have will be enough to take us from the Middle Stage to the Late Stage."

"I’m fine with a rough estimate," Roan insisted.

Celis pondered for a moment, using the previous cultivation realms they had gone through as a reference. "I would say... it should be just barely enough to reach the Late Stage. If it isn’t, we’ll be very close."

Roan nodded. "As we are now, we can definitely hunt Godly Horrors more easily. I guess the only problem is finding them."

That was the truth.

Not counting the rewards from the Elite Exploration Mission or their share of the compensation from the Natak Region, the twins’ group had actually found only seven Godly Horrors during their last Elite Exploration Mission. In fact, finding seven was already an exceptionally good result.

As mentioned before, the Elite Exploration Mission had taken place on that side of the Godly Creatures’ Territories because the Godly Subjugation Guild expected it to have a much higher concentration of Godly Creatures. The southern area hadn’t experienced any major attack for quite some time, after all, which meant that the Godly Creatures had been allowed to accumulate.

The guild’s expectations had turned out to be correct. The twins’ group had encountered an enormous number of Godly Predators, and the fact that they also found seven Godly Horrors was further proof of the unusually high concentration of Godly Creatures in the area.

Under normal circumstances, finding as many as three Godly Horrors during an Elite Exploration Mission would already have been considered an outstanding result, let alone seven, and that’s because the twins’ group could go further than any other group.

It wasn’t only the Regions that struggled to produce Law Gods. The Godly Creatures themselves also very rarely evolved to the point where they reached the Godly Horror level. It seemed that this cultivation restriction applied to everyone in the Grasslands, not just the cultivators.

Still, Roan was satisfied with their gains. "In any case, we did a lot better than initially expected. We’ll stay here and cultivate. If we reach the Late Stage of the Zone God Realm, then good. If not, we’ll at least be close... if you are not wrong, of course."

Rean understood what he meant. "Regardless of the outcome, we won’t be coming back, is that right?"

Roan confirmed it without hesitation. "Yes, we won’t."

Kentucky couldn’t help but swallow hard.

He definitely hadn’t forgotten their initial plan. The twins’ group had decided long ago that once they reached the Zone God Realm, they would leave Besgol and head toward the nearest Sprouting Portal. (Chapter 4410)

Why the Zone God Realm?

Obviously, that was because the Sprouting Portals only accepted cultivators at the Zone God Realm or higher. At least, that was what Duze had told them on the day he wiped the memories of all cultivators in all the Regions related to Besgol.

It had happened before Kentucky met Kachia, so one could understand his reluctance now.

But then again, when the twins had encouraged Kentucky to pursue Kachia, they had also warned him not to forget that this day would eventually come. It was up to him to decide whether the relationship was worth trying despite the eventual separation.

The same applied to Rean and Roan with Qia and Calina back in their time.

Rean noticed Kentucky’s expression and spoke up. "We still have to use these Godly Horror Crystals, which should take a few years. You can think about it for a while longer and decide what you want to do."

Kentucky nodded. "Yeah, I guess I still have some time. All right, let’s go for it."

Roan, however, stopped him there. "You came with us, sure. But one thing has never changed. Ultimately, you are you, and you can do whatever you want. If, in the end, you decide you don’t want to leave this place, none of us will force you to go."

Roan paused briefly before continuing, his expression remaining calm. "We are connected through cultivation, and that cultivation connection works regardless of distance. You simply won’t be able to return to the Great Void anymore."

Kentucky looked at him. "That might be true, but I haven’t forgotten that the further you guys cultivate, the more I would hold you back if I stayed. You can’t have breakthroughs if I don’t, and vice versa. You would have to cultivate for me as well since you would have better resources."

Kentucky lowered his wing slightly as he continued. "Also, if this Grasslands truly has this cultivation restriction, you three would be stuck at the Initial Stage of the Region God Realm forever until the day I finally decided to leave this place."

Roan’s eyebrow rose slightly. "So you have thought about it already, huh?"

Kentucky nodded. It truly wasn’t the first time he had reached that conclusion. In fact, the thought had occurred to him on the very first day he decided to pursue Kachia.

"Yes, and don’t worry. I won’t stay." Kentucky’s expression became a little more serious. "I haven’t decided what I’m going to do about Kachia yet, but I’m not going to be the reason that holds the three of you back."
