Chapter 4623: We Are In
Nothing much happened over the following four years and eight months. Yes, that was how long it took for the twins’ group to finally complete their cultivation session.
*Boom!*
Another breakthrough shook the surrounding area, but the Guild Branch Master didn’t even bother to investigate. He already knew who was responsible and what had happened, so he simply reported the news to Clasou. As for the other cultivators who noticed the commotion, they eventually lost interest and went about their own business. By now, the twins’ group had become so accustomed to these breakthroughs that there was little reason for anyone to make a fuss about them.
Back in their estate, Celis looked particularly pleased with the outcome. "I knew my calculations might have been wrong, but I’m happy that they were this time."
Roan nodded. "In the end, the Godly Horror Crystals were enough to get us to the Late Stage of the Zone God Realm, and we still have one left."
"Exactly!" Celis confirmed. "Of course, there is absolutely no way we can reach the Peak Stage with just this one. And, as you can probably guess, we’re likely going to need more than double the amount we used for the previous breakthrough. At the very least, all of them will need to be Late Godly Horror Crystals too. As for the exact number, I’ll have to calculate it once we resume cultivation."
"That shouldn’t take long," Rean commented. "After all, we’re about to leave Besgol. The journey to the Sprouting Portal’s location will take three and a half years, which means you can continue cultivating normally during the trip without using any Godly Crystals."
Celis couldn’t help pointing out a small detail. "There’s nothing wrong with cultivating normally, but if we rely entirely on that method, it will definitely take us hundreds of years to reach the Peak Stage. Still, any additional cultivation time is worthwhile in my opinion, so I’ll cultivate nonstop during the journey."
*Rawr!*
Luxa suddenly jumped onto Rean’s shoulder, clearly eager to complain now that the twins had finally finished their session. ’Rean, you took way too long! I already ran out of my Godly Predator Crystals! I had to keep using these Godly Beast ones for the last two years! I felt as though I wasn’t making any progress at all!’
Lunelle shared her frustration. ’The same goes for me. I’m still quite a bit behind Luxa in terms of my overall progress with my third tail, too.’
"It’s fine," Roan assured them. "We’ll be traveling deeper and deeper into the Godly Creatures’ Territories this time. There should be more than enough Godly Predators there, along with a somewhat greater number of Godly Horrors, even if they will still be rare. We should be able to replenish your supplies before long."
"Hm?" Rean suddenly turned toward the door. "Seems like Senior Tobao already heard about our breakthrough from the branch master."
"Arcis is with him, too," Celis added. "Kachia appears to be there as well."
Kentucky’s eyes immediately lit up. "Great! This is the perfect opportunity to find out what they’ve decided!"
Tobao and the others were quickly brought into the living room, where everyone could sit down and discuss matters. However, before anyone had the chance to begin the conversation, something else caught their attention. More specifically, it caught Kentucky’s attention in the worst possible way.
Arcis was glaring at him as though he were ready to rip Kentucky’s heart straight out of his chest and eat it right in front of everyone.
The temperature in the room plummeted as Arcis released his Ice Element. He strode directly toward Kentucky, his expression growing increasingly threatening with every step. "You sure have guts, little bird."
*Pah!*
Too bad. Before Arcis could say anything else, Kachia slapped the back of his head with her wing. "Father, stop it! That has nothing to do with you!"
The freezing atmosphere gradually returned to normal, although Arcis looked no happier than before. "What do you mean it has nothing to do with me?! I’m your father! It’s my duty to look after you!"
"I’m a Peak Stage Zone God! And I’m a step away from Breaking Through into the Law God Realm!" Kachia retorted. "It’s been a long time since I last needed you to protect me! I’m not a fledgling anymore! Now, stop throwing a tantrum and let’s talk about the actual reason we’re here."
Kachia also gained a lot of resources with the last mission, especially the Godly Horror Crystals. Different from the twins’ group, her cultivation didn’t require so many resources for each stage. Thus, she reached the Peak Stage with ease and was already at the door of the Law God Realm. Godly Horror Crystals really make a huge difference.
Rean glanced at Kentucky through their soul connection. ’Seems like she told Arcis how far you two have gone.’
"Ahem..." Kentucky cleared his throat, trying to recover at least some of his dignity. "Se-Senior Arcis, I assure you that I have only the best intentions—"
"You shut up!" Kachia interrupted him before he could finish. "I don’t need you speaking on my behalf, either."
"Y-Yes..." Kentucky lowered his head.
Rean and Roan mentally nodded after seeing Kentucky’s suffering. Oh they understand that sentiment way too well...
Kachia then pointed toward the seats. "Sit down, both of you, and don’t bring that up again. Otherwise..."
She didn’t even need to finish the threat. Kentucky and Arcis immediately changed into their humanoid forms and took their seats. Kachia sat right between them, looking rather pleased with herself. She had both Demon Birds firmly under control, and neither of them dared to complain.
"Err..." Tobao finally broke the awkward silence. "Amitabha, amitabha... It seems we’ve reached a... consensus. In that case, perhaps we should move on to the main topic."
His expression soon turned serious as he addressed the twins and their companions. "Rean, Roan, Celis, Kentucky... Arcis and I discussed the offer you made while waiting for you to finish your cultivation session. I’m pleased to say that we’ve both made the necessary preparations. We can leave at any moment."
Roan raised an eyebrow slightly. "So, you’ve decided to come with us, huh? What about Besgol’s other Law Gods? What did they say?"
Tobao continued, "As you mentioned, they were quite pleased with the idea that the resources previously allocated to Arcis and me would now become available to them. As for Zandal, he’ll remain in seclusion for quite some time."
Rean couldn’t help asking, "Aren’t you worried that Zandal might try to take control of Besgol?"
Roan answered before either of their guests could respond. "That would be meaningless. Zandal is more than strong enough to take over Besgol on his own, even if Arcis and Tobao were still here. He’s not a Godly Creature, so the Sacred Relic has no effect on him. For Tobao and Arcis to have reached this decision, they must have already understood that."
Tobao and Arcis nodded, although neither looked particularly happy about the conclusion. "Yes, he’s a monster. Since he has shown no interest in taking over Besgol, it’s obvious that he has no desire to shoulder the responsibilities that would come with ruling this place. We genuinely believe he’ll leave once he finishes his cultivation, regardless of whether he manages to reach the Region God Realm or not."
"Good!" Rean nodded. "In that case, you’re both more than welcome to join us on this journey to that special place."
Arcis still seemed reluctant to leave the matter there. "Are you truly unable to tell us anything more about it?"
So far, all they knew was that the twins’ group intended to travel somewhere that would offer better cultivation opportunities. The destination’s true nature, however, remained a mystery, and neither Arcis nor Tobao was particularly fond of embarking on such a long journey without knowing what awaited them.
"Not yet," Rean confirmed. "However, once we get far enough away from Besgol, whatever we tell you won’t affect Besgol or any other Region anymore. At that point, we’ll explain everything along the way."
Arcis and Tobao exchanged a glance before nodding. They had already come this far, and they trusted the twins enough to accept those conditions. Whatever awaited them beyond Besgol, it was clearly something worth learning about.
"Very well. We are in."
