Chapter 3803: Unique Origin III
The silence hung like a drop of water on a blade until Noah’s voice, steady and dry, finally cut through it.
"The words of a being with no memory are unique, aren’t they?" he said, his tone almost casual. "Lets not pay too much heed to them, hmm?"
He gestured lightly with his hand toward the distance. "We’ve still got nine treasure chests waiting for us. Full of unknown wonders..."
"..."
A ripple spread through the square.
A release.
The tension didn’t vanish, but it loosened. Like fingers uncurled from a blade’s hilt.
Eyes shifted back to Gardens.
Hands began to rise toward Cubes again.
But the tale of the Creature, Living Origin, and Living Paradox lingered in their minds.
Even Master Shen exhaled, as though coming back to himself, muttering...that he needed a drink.
Master Hannibal, however, lingered. His eyes stayed locked on Sigrid for a breath too long- sharp and clinical.
And then he turned coldly, moving away.
Noah, sensing it all, nudged Sigrid gently with his elbow.
"Come on. Nurture your Garden," he said with a light smile.
But then he paused, something sharp flickering behind his eyes. "Speaking of which... what’s yours?"
Sigrid hesitated, then leaned closer. Her voice barely above a whisper.
"...It said I got the Exclusive Living Origin Garden Archetype- Mother of Origin."
"..."
Noah blinked once.
Then twice.
Exclusive.
His was Unique, already beyond comprehension.
But Exclusive?
"..."
It may be something entirely meant for her in this whole place.
His gaze sharpened instinctively, reading her features anew. But she didn’t even understand what that classification meant.
She looked almost apologetic for speaking it aloud.
He forced the tension in his shoulders to relax and smiled.
"Good," he said gently. "Then nurture it. Carefully. Just follow your instincts. "
He turned back toward his own Garden, the weight of the moment returning to his chest as he inhaled and focused inward.
The Living Origin Garden of the Runic Battle Mage bloomed inside him like a glowing crimson-gold sigil embedded over his Living Wheel.
Nine vines sprouted from the central bud, each one arching into space like radiant rivers of potential.
Each vine bore nine glowing nodes that were crimson-gold plus signs lined like beads of fate.
And each vine terminated... in something greater.
An Origin Ability.
He reached toward the first vine.
Its flow pulsed with vibrant energy, and as he brushed his consciousness along the nodes, knowledge flowed.
+100 Living Origin Energy and +50 Living Origin Vigor
Simple.
Foundational.
The numbers increased per node. Adding and Multiplying.
But the tenth node... burned brighter.
[Runic Enhancement: Origin Skin] - Enchants your body with a reactive weave of Runic Origin Lattices of Defense. Gain passive resistance to Origin damage.
"...Not bad," Noah murmured as he looked at this pathway.
He moved on.
The second vine gave him a slightly different feeling. Faster. Hotter.
+200 Living Origin Energy and +10 Living Origin Vigor
The imbalance was obvious. A more volatile path where energy was even more favored.
And the tenth node?
[Runic Battle Skill: Fireball] - Launch a compressed rune-inscribed flame that scales with Living Origin Energy. With enough advancement of the Living Origin Garden Archetype- Runic Battle Mage, even the output of the Flame of Origin that birthed Wheels of Existence is possible to unleash.
...!
"Fireball..."
Noah said under his breath.
And paused.
A long, quiet pause.
He smiled, slow and genuine.
Because once, long ago, in a ruined apartment of his old world, that had been his first skill.
When mana had first coursed through him.
When his fingers had trembled with the weight of power for the first time, and all he could do was hurl flames at his enemies endlessly.
Fireball.
The path was different now, more profound, but that root?
That Origin?
It was always fire.
He touched the first plus sign on this vine.
Just one point for now so that he knew exactly where to continue.
He then gazed at the other pathways.
The third vine pulsed with a different hue altogether.
Heavy. Rooted.
+10 Living Origin Energy and +200 Living Origin Vigor
The tenth node on this vine displayed...
[Runic Ward: Anchor Glyph] - Generate a Living Origin rune that roots in a chosen location. Reduces damage taken by you and your allies within range and anchors spells cast in the area, increasing their effectiveness. Gain 10% Regeneration of Energy and Vigor every minute.
He nodded in appreciation.
And he looked at the other possible pathways.
Each vine was a philosophy. A doctrine.
And every step along them changed the foundation of his being inside this Labyrinth.
The possibilities... were immense.
But for now?
He looked back again at that second vine.
The one with the Fireball.
He added a second point.
Then a third.
Then a fourth.
Each one pulsed into his Garden, the vine glowing more brightly with every step.
The garden beginning to bloom ever so slowly!
The Runic Battle Mage of the Living Origin had begun to awaken!
Sixth Point!
Ninth Point!
Tenth Point!
...!
The tenth pulse settled into place.
Noah’s breath flowed out like quiet steam as the final node along the second vine bloomed with light inside his Garden.
He felt it before he saw it.
A distinct change in the texture of reality around his body, like the thrum of potential coiling tighter.
Then...
HUUM!
A crimson-gold rune ignited on the back of his right hand, curling into a complex sigil that pulsed with Living Origin Authority.
The air shimmered faintly.
The rune wasn’t passive. Every breath he took fueled it. Every thought shaped it.
This wasn’t just an ability.
It was his Origin taking form.
He turned his mind inward.
The Garden of the Runic Battle Mage hummed with completion- ten points along the second vine activated, unlocking his first Battle Skill.
And with that, a Runic Status Panel shimmered into being before his eyes, something he compiled based on the 10 Resistance Archetype Points he had used so far, with 190 remaining!
Name: Noah Osmont
Living Origin Garden Archetype: Unique – Runic Battle Mage
Living Origin Energy: 1800
Living Origin Vigor: 90
Archetype Resistance Points Used: 10 (Vine II – Offensive Origin Path)
Runic Battle Skills Unlocked: [Runic Battle Skill: Fireball]
The numbers matched perfectly. Numbers of a glass cannon.
Each of the nine foundational nodes along the second vine had granted him +200 Living Origin Energy and +10 Vigor. Cumulatively, they now surged in his core, shaping his power applicable here from the inside out!
