Chapter 3994: Trembling! I
The sound that erupted from above transcended normal categories of auditory experience, carrying within it the compressed essence of impossibility being given voice and direction.
Waves of powerful Paradoxes pierced through the temporal fabric of the Folds themselves, their entrance defying every weaving of Existence!
They appeared by simply deciding that they had always been present, their arrival rewriting history to accommodate their sudden manifestation!
Their grand paradoxical entrance caused all beings...Dead and Living alike, to turn their attention skyward.
At the forefront of this impossible assembly flew a figure whose presence commanded attention through sheer magnitude of accumulated authority.
It was none other than...Diviticus.
Fucking Diviticus!
Diviticus, no longer merely Honored, but elevated to the rank of Duke!
Her form blazed with brilliant white and black radiance while her fair features bore an enticing tattoo that resembled a terrifying Glyph inscribed directly into her flesh.
The marking pulsed with its own inner radiance. This was not mere decoration but the manifestation of authority that had been permanently integrated into her very essence!
Behind Duke Diviticus, the assembled might of Living Paradoxes created a display that rivaled the most magnificent conquering armies in the annals of history.
Duke Elagabalus floated with the casual arrogance that marked him as someone whose power had never been successfully challenged, his obsidian-gold hair flowing like liquid metal while his robes seemed to absorb and reflect light paradoxically.
Honored Gold maintained his position with ancient dignity.
Other terrifying Dukes of the Living Paradoxes arranged themselves in formations!
Yet silently behind all of these magnificent displays of transcendent capability stood a figure that appeared almost mundane by comparison...a man whose appearance suggested nothing more threatening than a beggar who had wandered into places far beyond his comprehension.
This was Duke Schrodinger, and his presence in the far back of their formation did nothing to diminish the profound sense of danger that radiated from his position like heat from a forge dedicated to remaking the fundamental nature of existence itself!
The moment he arrived, Noah felt his danger senses respond with intensity that bordered on panic. Diviticus did not make him feel danger. Nor did Honored Gold or any other Paradoxes. So why the fuck did he feel a sense of immense danher from that begger in the back?
At this shocking entrance of Living Paradox leadership, Diviticus stepped forward with movements that made reality convulse in recognition.
A terrifying aura eclipsing that of many Dukes erupted from her transformed form, waves of compressed impossibility smashing toward the emerging Primordial Deaths with menacing precision as she roared with voice that carried across dimensions.
"I! DIVITICUS! HAVE! ARRIVED!"
The declaration rang through the battlefield, each word carrying within it the compressed essence of everything she had become through methods that...others did not currently know about.
Through power that was not...entirely hers!
BOOM!
An apocalyptic impact erupted from her position, the shockwave of her presence alone proving sufficient to smash back all three Primordial Deaths that had been attempting to emerge from the expanded tear in reality.
Other Duke-level Paradoxes layered their own seas of paradoxical authority outward, creating overlapping fields of impossible force that sought to drown the creatures of ending in contradictions they could not resolve or escape.
Paradoxical Authority, as had been demonstrated again and again throughout the conflict, proved most effective against Dead Existences.
The arriving Paradoxes systematically pushed the Primordial Deaths back into the tear through application of coordinated impossibility, their combined efforts forcing entities that rivaled Dukes in power to retreat from realms where life still dared to exist.
Yet the true demonstration of transcendent capability came when the beggar-like figure from the rear of their formation appeared at the center of the tear itself.
Duke Schrodinger raised his hand with casual precision, pinching empty space between fingers that blazed with authority too subtle for normal perception to detect.
As he performed this simple gesture, his voice carried across the battlefield with the calm precision of someone delivering inevitable conclusion...in a voice that almost seemed bored!
"Fracturing mirror of simultaneous truths. Vessel of contradictory certainties. Exist and cease in unified opposition. Collapse all possibilities into singular choice. Dancing shadows of maybe and never. Quantum throne of impossible decisions. Self-negating crown of definitive uncertainty. Merge. Contradict. Accept the wisdom of paradox and bend to my selected Existence. In the state where all possibilities exist simultaneously, I choose the one where this wound...has never been opened. So. Existence...conform to my selection."
...!
HUUM!
A pinch of empty space. A short incantation delivered with casual confidence.
And yet in the next moment, with speed that challenged every assumption about cause and effect...ððððð¬ððð·ðð¿ðð¡.ððžð
WAP!
The tear sealed itself instantly, reality responding to paradoxical command by retroactively deciding that the wound had never existed in the first place. Space-time rearranged itself to accommodate this new interpretation of events, the massive breach simply ceasing to be!
"..."
The beggar-looking entity whose casual gesture had accomplished what multiple Dukes working in coordination had failed to achieve caused Noah to become unfathomably serious.
The moment Duke Schrodinger completed his reality-altering intervention, the ancient being turned with movements that seemed to compress eons of accumulated attention into a single moment of focused scrutiny.
His eyes locked onto none other than Moiraine with intensity that made the surrounding space convulse.
Not just him. Duke Elagabalus, Honored Gold, and the vibrant Duke Diviticus all turned to gaze at her with expressions that carried cold calculation mixed with profound interest.
They knew that she...was the only remaining link to Ozymandias! Someone who likely had the inheritance of an Early Creature!
At this moment, Diviticus appeared above the cold-faced skeletal Primordial Death...the only creature that remained from the original incursion, her presence casting shadows that seemed to absorb light rather than merely blocking it.
Terrifying obsidian power leaked from her transformed form as she looked around at the surrounding Living Existences, her gaze taking in the assembled might of the Coalition while her voice carried across the battlefield with the weight of declaration.
"It seems...." she said with calm precision that made reality itself lean in to listen more closely, "that it is time for Living Paradoxes to also secure a seat at the table of governance across the folds."
She delivered these words while gazing directly at the other Living Existences who had gathered to witness this unprecedented resolution.
She spoke while looking specifically at Moiraine.
Her entrance, and the entrance of the Paradoxes as a unified force, had been nothing short of grand. They had appeared at the moment of greatest crisis and resolved the most pressing problems with efficiency!
Now, with the tear sealed and the primary threats neutralized, all that remained was cleanup of the remaining Dead Existences, and yet it seemed like things had gotten even messier!
