Chapter 4217: Feasts and Festivals! I
The battlefield in the Transcendent Origin Folds was a distant, silent storm on the horizon of Noah’s perception, a problem for another version of himself.
Here, in the serene, golden light of the Radiant Shore, a different kind of harvest was underway.
His gaze, no longer titanic in scale but still carrying the weight of more than a Quadrillion, shifted from the contemplative quiet of his own thoughts to the vibrant, chaotic life of his domain.
He turned his attention to the Leviathan’s Eternum Cage.
Within the crystalline walls of the Aquarium, a new prisoner raged. It was the Kleos Early Living Marine Lifeform his Weave had ensnared, a creature of the deep, dark places between Folds where light was a forgotten myth!
It was a type of abyssal fish, its body a masterpiece of evolutionary brutality. Its scales were like overlapping plates of polished obsidian, and its eyes were baleful, crimson lanterns that burned with a furious, maddened light.
It smashed its colossal head against the Cage’s authority-laced walls again and again, each impact a silent detonation of pure, frustrated power.
Noah watched its futile struggle, a faint, predatory smile touching his lips as he reviewed its details.
Kleos-Tier Abyssal Anguish Fish
Classification: Early Living Marine Lifeform
Complexity: 100,000,000,000,000 (100 Trillion)
Purity: 100,000,000,000,000 (100 Trillion)
Distinctions:
- Child of the Sacred Sea: As a being that has swum in the Early Sacred Waters of a Radiant Shore, its flesh is saturated with an unprecedented concentration of pure, untainted potential.
- Embodiment of Rage: Its existence is a constant, burning fire of anger. This makes its flesh particularly potent for those seeking to fuel their own Haki or martial prowess.
- A Meal Fit for a King: The consumption of this creature’s essence is a monumental undertaking that promises a harvest of unimaginable proportions.
Noah’s eyes shone with a cold, appreciative light.
He had worked hard. He had faced down impossibility, danced on the knife’s edge of cessation, and emerged stronger!
Now, it was time for a reward. He ignited the Crucible of...Apocalypse, a True Source that understood the art of endings better than most.
He raised a single finger, and wove.
Sever.
HUUUM!
You have exerted the Weave of Absolute Severance.
The concept of ’connection’ is being temporarily negated for the target.
The Anguish Fish, mid-ram against the wall, froze.
A single, infinitesimally thin line of pure, conceptual blackness appeared across its colossal body.
It was not a cut; it was a statement.
A declaration that the parts of its body were no longer a cohesive whole! In the next instant, the creature fell apart into a few hundred perfectly sliced, still-twitching pieces, its life instantly, cleanly severed.
WAA!
A Kleos-Tier Lifeform has been... processed. Your efficiency is noted.
The effort required was minimal, but the result is a bounty. [The Principle of Perpetual Harvest] is pleased.
With a wave of his hand, the hundreds of pieces of meat floated out of the Aquarium, hovering in the air before him.
His gaze drifted back to the Cage, to the dozens of Eminent Marine Lifeforms now clustered together in a corner, trembling with a primal, existential terror.
He offered them a devilish, reassuring smile that did not reassure them at all.
He looked at the floating pieces of the Kleos Lifeform, each one a testament to his power, each one a promise of further growth.
He had been so focused on the struggle, on the desperate climb, that he had almost forgotten something fundamental.
After working so hard, one needed to enjoy existence itself. Otherwise, what was the point? If the Fallout did come, if existence itself was to be unmade, he would not meet that end having only known the struggle.
He and those he shouldered the responsibility for would not simply die while struggling. In the struggle, they had to have some enjoyment!
They had to.
So...
He pulled upon the Crucible of Cooking.
Manifest, he wove.
From the golden sands, a massive cooking station erupted, a glorious, impossible structure of obsidian and gold.
It had a cutting board carved from a single, solidified concept of ’sharpness,’ a series of grills whose flames could be tuned to the precise temperature of a dying Wheel or the gentle warmth of a summer’s day, and a vast, golden basin that hummed with an expectant energy.
With a gesture, he drew the Early Sacred Waters from the nearby sea, a shimmering, cerulean river that flowed through the air and into the basin, instantly beginning to simmer with a gentle, life-giving heat!
He began to cook!
The pieces of the Kleos fish, guided by his will, danced through the air, some searing on the grills, others poaching gently in the Sacred Waters.
The aroma that began to fill the Shore was a thing of pure, celestial beauty, a scent that promised a feast beyond all imagination.
As he worked, a figure approached, her movements hesitant.
It was Sigrid. She had a difficult expression on her face, her eyes holding a familiar, painful emotion: helplessness.
Noah looked at her, and he knew. He knew that even with her newfound few Trillion complexity power, she felt small in the face of the cataclysm unfolding in her home Fold.
He knew the frustration of having immense power yet being unable to solve the one problem that mattered most. He didn’t need to hear her ask.
Sometimes, emotional intelligence was more important than anything else, though he wouldn’t call himself an expert even now!
So even without waiting for her to say anything...
He simply spoke, his voice a commanding, yet gentle, balm on her unvoiced pain.
"Turn all the decimated Dead Existences I just took down into nutrients for THE Living Order."
Her eyes widened. She turned, and in a distant corner of the Shore, she saw them...the crumpled, broken bodies of the Dead Existences ranging from 100-900 Trillion Noah had personally decimated!
As she watched, the golden sands of the Shore rose, a hungry, shimmering tide that devoured them whole.
HUUM!
