Chapter 4593: Existential Intermission- The Annals of Mana
In Existence, there were many weird oddities scattered all around across countless domains and territories.
Some oddities were unfathomably more odd compared to others as they pursued activities that defied conventional understanding or purpose.
Two entities that could arguably take the crown when it came to pure oddity were The Queen of Matter and The Shadow Guard, Night.
At this moment in time, in the current era, inside a unique domain within The Infiniverse, there existed an emerging Fold of Dreams that held seas of golden sands permeating all around for both the skies and the earth below.
The entire landscape existed in warm amber illumination, as if perpetually caught in the golden hour before sunset.
Inside such a domain, toward the central corner of this vast space, there sat a massive marbled golden table surrounded by three ornate thrones.
Two of these thrones were currently occupied by the figures of The Queen of Matter and The Shadow Guard, Night.
The Queen of Matter was adorned in a radiant white dress that seemed to be woven from countless pages of books, the text visible on the fabric constantly shifting and rearranging as if the dress itself was being continuously rewritten. Her presence radiated scholarly authority and accumulated knowledge.
Night sat beside her, adorned in a black tightfitting dress that hugged her curves with elegant precision. Shadows seemed to cling to her form naturally, creating an aura of mystery and concealment even in the golden light filling the domain.
Both entities sat on their thrones with stacks of books and papers scattered all over the massive table before them. These documents held wondrous Records of Weavings of Existence pertaining to The True Emperor of Quintessence and The Infiniverse itself.
At this moment, The Queen of Matter breathed out slowly as if clearing away building nerves before speaking with determined focus.
"Okay, let us do this. The first discussion to put into The Annals of Mana. A proper record for future generations to understand who we were and what we faced..."
Night nodded with agreement, her pen already poised over blank parchment waiting to capture every word.
The Queen of Matter then raised her voice slightly and called out.
"Alright, Sir Henry, please come in!"
...!
In the next moment, the figure of Henry Osmont manifested in the air above the third throne, his steps light and calm as he descended to sit.
He looked like a young prince of Existence itself, carrying himself with natural nobility and quiet confidence.
His hair shone with blue gold radiance, catching the ambient light of the domain. He was adorned in a blue gold shirt and matching pants that hugged his slightly muscular and toned figure, the fabric seeming to shimmer with concentrated authority.
Henry looked between The Queen of Matter and Night with wry smile forming on his features as he spoke with gentle skepticism.
"We are at a fairly pivotal moment in our Existence right now. Is there really time for this sort of... this? Even if our Main Bodies are free to do this while events unfold elsewhere..."
The Queen of Matter leaned forward slightly.
"We cannot do anything to change the outcome of what is currently happening out there beyond the calculations and preparations already made. And we do not need to be so fearful of our enemies that we cannot even be comfortable in our own homes, right? If THE Loom erupts in the next few seconds and we all die from overwhelming force, what use is all this constant worry and tension? We can spend the time doing things we genuinely love and find meaningful."
Henry leaned back in his throne with thoughtful expression before responding with dry honesty.
"If I was going to collapse in the next few seconds, this would not be the last thing I hope to be doing with my remaining moments of Existence."
As he said this, Night was already writing things down rapidly on the papers in front of them, her pen moving with practiced efficiency.
She chimed in without looking up from her documentation.
"Hmm, what would you rather be doing then? You had a girl before that you brought to meet your Father, and now you have also added Lyra to what appears to be a growing harem. Just for the record of The Annals of Mana, are you planning to grow a harem like your Father has done?"
At such a ridiculous and direct question, Henry smiled while shaking his head with mixture of amusement and exasperation.
"I cannot really answer that definitively. But I do not think so, no. That is not my intention or focus."
The Queen of Matter and Night looked at each other meaningfully before they both wrote something down on the papers before them.
The Queen of Matter then picked up the questioning with smooth transition.
"Okay, what about the harem of your Father then? He has more than a dozen women under his belt at this point, and Queen Adelaide is your biological mother. How do you look at the other Queens of The Infiniverse? And what would be your reaction if you ended up getting a sibling soon in the midst of all this chaos?"
Henry took a moment to formulate his response carefully before speaking with calm and measured tone.
"I look at all of them with respect and treat them accordingly as Queens who have chosen to stand with my Father and with all of us in The Infiniverse. They are powerful entities in their own right who made their choices freely. As for siblings..."
He paused with slight smile.
"I can say without any doubt that having children is something my Father is absolutely not planning on anytime in the foreseeable future. His focus is entirely on our survival and advancement, not on expanding the family further during such a dangerous period."
Night and The Queen of Matter nodded at this response, writing down his words with approving expressions.
Night spoke next, her voice shifting to more serious territory.
"Okay, veering away from personal matters. What can you say about our current situation overall? We just learned about something called The First Tongue that The Master briefly sent knowledge about through his connection with RUIN/EDEN. So far, the only one among us who knows the full details and can actually do anything practical with The First Tongue is The Infiniverse herself as she faces off against a supposed Disciple of THE Creature. What...do you think about us having THE Creature as a confirmed enemy in the future?"
Henry’s expression became more focused and serious as he considered the weight of the question before responding with steady conviction.
"Enemies are enemies, regardless of where they come from or what titles they hold. So long as they threaten us, threaten our Existence and everything we have built, we will defend against them with everything we have. We already fight against THE Living Paradox and THE Living Emotive and countless others within THE Loom’s influence. If THE Creature comes next as another adversary, so what? We face what comes and adapt accordingly."
The Queen of Matter and Night both nodded at such an answer with shining eyes!
Night continued with another challenging question.
"What about those among us who think that The Infiniverse should not have erupted to use the power of The First Tongue against our enemies? Right now, we are witnessing what we now understand to be a glimpse of a Genesis Principle from the Disciple of THE Creature, power they shockingly might have gained from THE Creature himself relating to The First Tongue. But with The Infiniverse using the power of The First Tongue in response, some fear that it will likely invite an even more terrifying challenge or retaliation that we may not be ready to face. Based on the limited background knowledge we have from what Master has shared with RUIN/EDEN, the power of The First Tongue is not even something those below THE classification can wield freely without risk."
At such a complex question, Henry frowned slightly as he shook his head with clear conviction.
"If someone has a rock or a gun nearby and there is an intruder breaking into their home, should they use only the rock and not the gun because they are fearing what response might come next? Because escalating the conflict might invite greater danger? That makes no sense. They have to use every tool in their arsenal to do what they can to win the immediate battle and survive. The Infiniverse likely made countless calculations before she even made that move to use The First Tongue. None of us possess the computational power and awareness she and others hold. Who are we to judge them as they defend us using methods we barely comprehend? Whatever enemies come after this escalation, whatever response our actions invite, we can only deal with them accordingly when they arrive. Holding back power out of fear only guarantees defeat."
Night and The Queen of Matter nodded with clear agreement as the latter then posed what she indicated would be the final question.
"Okay, last question and we will not bother you for a while after this. Do you think The Master will come back to the current era in time for whatever terrifying response we are about to face? Many are worried about exactly what kind of retaliation we might see from THE Dead Order, THE Living Paradox, and now potentially THE Creature himself. What response could we face now from all of them combined? This is not even mentioning the ongoing threat from THE Living Elemental and others..."
At such a question touching on fears many held but few voiced openly, Henry was briefly silent as he considered his words carefully.
When he spoke, his voice carried absolute conviction.
"My father is going through who knows what trials and dangers in the past to try and help us in our present. Whatever is happening to him across time, he continues to do everything by himself to give the rest of us a chance at survival and victory. We should all simply give away our Everythings of Fear, our Doubts, our perceived Limitations, and trust in what he is doing. When he calls for us to move, we move without hesitation. When he needs to be back in this era, he will be back. Of this, I am absolutely sure."
The answer carried heavy weight that settled over the golden table.
The Queen of Matter and Night looked at each other and nodded with shared understanding and appreciation.
The Queen of Matter spoke earnestly, her voice carrying genuine warmth.
"We do not know what fate holds for any of us in the coming conflicts. But Night and I thought it would be...meaningful to have a proper record of you and other important personages of The Infiniverse preserved in The Annals of Mana. A Record of Our Everythings, who we were and what we believed in. Thank you for taking the time to humor us in this project."
Henry nodded at these words with slight smile before his figure began to fade, disappearing from the golden throne and leaving Night and The Queen of Matter behind.
The two looked at each other across the table covered in their documentation.
Night spoke first with thoughtful tone.
"That went well...?"
The Queen of Matter nodded in agreement before asking the next logical question.
"Who should we talk to next for The Annals?"
Night tapped her pen against her lips contemplatively before thinking of several options.
"Not sure, but I can think of many..."
The Queen of Matter smiled as she began organizing her notes!
