Chapter 4602: The First Lesson II
Each of the Phonemes of The First Tongue surrounding Noah’s body allowed him to feel a distinct sense of protection against THE Civilizational Authority of Heavenly Lightning pressing down from all directions.
Fire provided the will to resist being extinguished. Earth granted foundational stability that refused to be moved. Air represented freedom from constraint. Unity bound all his components together against external force.
Even now, Raijin’s overwhelming Sovereignty continued to be exerted onto his Existence with crushing intent, commanding him to kneel and submit.
And yet the surging Phonemes of The First Tongue denied this exertion of power, creating barriers of linguistic authority that operated on principles deeper than Civilizational Authority alone.
Raijin’s expression became noticeably heavy as he observed this continued resistance.
After several moments of contemplative silence, he nodded with what might have been grudging respect and spoke with voice carrying building intensity.
"There are oddities everywhere in Existence, I suppose. You have managed to bear the mere expression of my Sovereignty without collapsing, which is noteworthy for someone with no Depth whatsoever. Very well. I will not be tied down fighting conservatively against an entity lacking Civilizational Authority, so let me show you what actual power looks like. Begone."
HUUM!
The moment that word left his mouth, booming drums began to play across the vast arena as if reality itself had become an orchestra.
A glorious symphony kicked off with building crescendo as the sky above transformed.
In the surroundings spanning Gigaparsecs in all directions, colorful lightning began descending like drops of rain to batter everything below.
Purple. Gold. White. Violet. Amber. Colors that should not exist in electrical phenomena cascaded down with beautiful and terrifying majesty.
And each tendril of lightning carried unique power, an undeniable brilliance that could be felt resonating through Existence itself at fundamental levels.
The moment this transformed lightning appeared and began its descent...
BOOM!
Half of the Phonemes surrounding Noah were instantly crushed and shattered as if they had never existed.
The protective barriers of linguistic authority simply could not withstand the overwhelming force being brought to bear.
The pressure Noah felt increased tenfold in a single instant as he struggled to maintain his standing position.
He kept his expression outwardly calm despite the internal alarms screaming through his Existence, his consciousness immediately moving to utter more Phonemes of The First Tongue to replace those that were shattered.
Fire. Earth. Air. Water. Void....
But as soon as they began forming around him...
CRACK!
Any newly formed Phonemes were immediately cracked and splintered under the overbearing pressure of the descending lightning before they could fully manifest their protective effects.
New prompts appeared with critical information.
All currently expressed Phonemes around your form have the passive support of Grand and Singularity Principles from nearby Existence.
However, at this time, the grandeur of a Genesis Principle has manifested in the expression of Raijin’s Civilizational Authority of Heavenly Lightning.
Genesis Principle Detected: The Principle of the Unstoppable Storm
Classification: Genesis Principle combining concepts of Heavenly Authority, Elemental Dominance, and Purifying Destruction
Effect: All lightning manifested carries the weight of existential judgment and the authority of natural disaster elevated to conceptual absolute
Because a Genesis Principle itself is fundamentally composed of complex expressions of The First Tongue at the Logos level and beyond, even though it is being utilized crudely and without conscious understanding by Raijin, it still represents a form of more sophisticated linguistic construction than individual Phonemes.
Your own Phonemes will continue to be broken with increasing intensity if nothing changes in your approach.
Individual letters cannot withstand complete words backed by Genesis authority.
If nothing changes.
Okay.
Noah’s mind processed this information with crystal clarity even as more Phonemes shattered around him.
He had not elected to fight a THE level entity first without having some semblance of a plan in mind.
He could have taken the safer route of fighting multiple Pre-THE entities, imprisoning them one by one in The Desmoterion, and working his way up gradually to face THE classification after extensive preparation.
But where was the Quintessence in such cautious progression? And more critically, he simply did not have the time for such methodical advancement.
If he wanted genuine pressure to forge himself stronger, here was pressure in abundance.
If he wanted to struggle in ways that would catalyze explosive growth, here was struggle of the highest order.
Here was Existence itself testing him!
Now, he simply needed to be forged and reborn anew in the fires of this impossible challenge.
While Phonemes continued to break around him in cascading failures, while he formed them continuously only to watch them shatter moments later, his eyes flashed with decisive determination.
He knew all eighteen letters of The First Tongue’s alphabet. He had personally practiced each Phoneme internally.
And he had seen a few complete words, the Logos of The First Tongue inscribed on the prisons and throughout this very arena.
He had observed their structure, their grammatical patterns, how individual letters combined into meaningful expressions.
And as the seconds passed here in external reality, Ozymandias inside The Desmoterion had already undergone hours of new understanding and practice of The First Tongue under extreme temporal dilation.
That knowledge flowed back into Noah’s own comprehension through their paradoxical connection.
Now, even if he was not a natural genius at The First Tongue, he had given himself time through Ozymandias.
And with enough time, one did not need to be a genius to eventually exceed.
So at this moment, Noah raised his right hand and focused his will with absolute precision.
On his fingertip, a Phoneme of Fire appeared, blazing with concentrated blue gold radiance.
As it manifested, he thought carefully about what Ul’moreth had mentioned regarding Inscription of The First Tongue.
The technique was mainly used on objects like weapons or armor, mostly on anything other than one’s own Existence.
Because forcing The First Tongue onto living beings who were not aligned with it risked catastrophic collapse.
But he was fundamentally different from other entities.
His Existence itself was perfectly aligned with the very letters he wanted to inscribe because his Way was Mana, which was The First Tongue in its undifferentiated form.
So even though he knew absolutely nothing about the formal techniques of Inscription of The First Tongue, even though he had not learned any proper methodology from Ul’moreth, why could he not simply decide for himself what method to use?
After all, he was Mana. His Way was Mana. His Way was The First Tongue itself.
Could he really not do something as conceptually simple as writing his own native language onto himself?
So at this critical moment, he made his decision.
He would use his finger as his pen. The Phoneme of Fire blazing on his fingertip would serve as his ink.
And he would write directly onto his own flesh.
Noah’s thought process crystallized with perfect clarity as colorful lightning continued raining down around him.
Since there was lightning threatening to collapse him, he needed to protect himself from electrical phenomena.
So he simply had to arrange the correct sequence and variations of Phonemes to spell out a complete word, a Logos that would provide the protection he required.
A word that most closely translated to the concept of Insulation.
Being protected from electrical flow. Being rendered immune to lightning’s destructive passage through matter.
His mind worked rapidly to construct the proper linguistic pattern.
He would need the Phoneme of Void, representing separation and the space between things that prevents interaction.
The Phoneme of Division, creating distinction between himself and external forces.
The Phoneme of Ending, terminating the flow of energy before it could affect him.
The Phoneme of Order, establishing the rule that electricity could not pass through.
And the Phoneme of Unity, binding these concepts together into coherent whole.
Five Phonemes arranged in specific grammatical structure to create...The Logos of Insulation!
