Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 4759: Glossarians! IV

Chapter 4759: Glossarians! IV

As she said this, Noah looked at the Lower City.

It was grand beyond measure!

The architecture seemed to have been carved from the very essence of language itself. Pillars rose in elegant columns, their surfaces inscribed with Phonemes that pulsed with quiet authority. Walls of buildings shimmered with linguistic patterns that shifted and reformed with each passing moment, as if the structures themselves were engaged in eternal conversation.

The buildings followed designs that spoke of an era when form and function achieved perfect unity. Triangular pediments crowned with intricate reliefs depicting scholars in debate. Archways that seemed to frame reality itself. Courtyards where fountains of liquid light flowed in patterns that wrote and rewrote themselves continuously.

It was ancient.

It was fantastical.

It was beautiful in ways that modern civilizations had forgotten how to achieve.

Glossarian Hoplites dotted the landscape in various states of activity. Some sat cross-legged on the roofs of their abodes, their eyes closed in deep meditation as Phonemes swirled around their forms in slow orbits. They were refining their foundations, building understanding of The First Tongue one revelation at a time.

Others moved through the streets with shining eyes of excitement, their togas rippling as they walked with purpose along a blue-gold road that led toward... the outline of a massive ancient library in the distance!

That structure dominated the horizon even through the haze of golden light that obscured distant details. Its silhouette promised knowledge beyond measure. Its presence drew scholars like moths to flame.

Noah looked at the few dozen THE Surface Depth Glossarians of different forms moving toward that place.

"Where would everyone be going right now?"

Ophelia smiled at his question.

"It seems that a debate is taking place right now in The Lexicon."

Her eyes sparkled with the enthusiasm of someone who genuinely loved her craft.

"The Lexicon is a massive library stretching for miles. It contains knowledge accumulated since before THE Fallout sealed this domain. Every insight, every breakthrough, every refined understanding of The First Tongue that the Glossarians have achieved across eons is recorded within its halls."

She gestured toward the distant structure.

"But it also acts as the junction between The Lower City and The Middle City, Meso Polis, where Lochagoi and their households reside. The debates take place in chambers designed specifically for philosophical combat. It is where reputations are made and broken."

Her serpentine lower half propelled her forward as she continued leading them.

"Do you wish to go see the debates? This is one of the ways to earn Merit here if you can show off your glory in The First Tongue compared to others!"

...!

Ophelia said such words with genuine encouragement.

Lumivara and Ul’moreth looked toward Noah with silent smiles.

As if they knew something nobody else did!

They knew that as The One Who Laid The Claim on The First Tongue, who could argue they understood it better than he?! Who could challenge the foundations of one whose very existence was intertwined with the oldest language?!

So their eyes shone with luminosity as they were expectant for what would happen ahead!

Skoll blinked as he looked around with vibrant eyes at everything.

He noticed the smiles on Lumivara and his Master. He was simple-minded and did not understand what was making them so happy. But he wanted to be part of the excitement! He wanted to share in whatever joy they were feeling!

He barked and jumped around!

"Woof!"

Such a good boy!

With such enthusiasm, they went toward The Lexicon.

The Lexicon itself was another work of wonder.

As they approached, its true scale became apparent. The structure rose in terraced levels that seemed to climb toward the golden rivers of light flowing across the sky. Massive columns supported porticos that extended outward like welcoming arms. The central dome was crowned with a crystallized Phoneme that rotated slowly, casting shifting patterns of blue-gold radiance across the surrounding plazas.

The architecture blended the gravity of ancient temples with the wonder of impossible fantasy. Floating platforms connected different levels of the library. Staircases that seemed to defy conventional geometry wound between sections. Windows of solidified language filtered light into spectrums that enhanced reading and comprehension.

Statues of legendary Glossarians lined the approach, their forms captured in moments of profound insight or passionate debate. Some held scrolls. Others gestured as if delivering Declarations and Thesis that had shaped the understanding of generations.

The massive library seemed to have many compartments and regions, each one dedicated to different aspects of linguistic study. Archives of ancient Phonemic research. Chambers for practicing Dogma and Thesis. Halls where Thesis constructs could be tested without endangering surroundings.

Ophelia took them toward the right section of the massive building.

They joined the throngs of dozens of Hoplites flowing across the wide blue-gold halls of this place. The corridors were vast enough to accommodate beings of all sizes, from humanoid scholars to massive entities whose forms barely fit through the archways. All of them moved with the eager anticipation of those about to witness philosophical combat.

"This region of The Lexicon is called the Logoseion."

Ophelia explained as they walked.

"It is where Glossarians can formally debate matters of linguistic understanding. The results are recorded, Merit is awarded, and reputations are established."

Her eyes gleamed with interest.

"Currently, it seems two Lochagoi are having a debate. This is rare enough to draw significant attention. Most debates occur between Hoplites seeking to prove themselves, or between Hoplites and Lochagoi where the outcome is... predictable."

She glanced back at Noah.

"A debate between two Lochagoi is a spectacle worth witnessing. Their mastery of The First Tongue far exceeds what Hoplites can typically achieve."

As she said this, they fully entered the atmosphere of the Logoseion.

The space was filled with silent whispers that somehow carried reverence rather than distraction. What seemed to be a few hundred THE Entities filled this place, arranged in circular formation around a central clearing.

Many of them were Hoplites of different forms. Bears and serpents and humanoids and abstract beings, all wearing the blue-gold togas of Glossarians, all watching with eyes that burned with desire to learn and grow.

But a minor portion were Lochagoi!
