Chapter 4866: Looking For A Local! II
At such words, THE Primordial Paradox nodded lightly.
He didn’t elaborate on who THE Tongue Whisperer was or why he had brought someone with mastery over The First Tongue into THE Prima Indifferentia.
THE Creature on the illusory screen was silent for a moment, his flames shifting through patterns of consideration and calculation occurring behind eyes that couldn’t be perceived.
"I am not in THE Prima Indifferentia right now."
His voice carried finality regarding that particular option.
"But a local from there should be able to help you."
...!
A local from here.
These words alone caused THE Primordial Paradox to frown. The proto-matter around him churned in response to his emotional state, reflecting his unease with increased agitation.
"Any locals here apart from you are either mad or out for Existence itself. THE Undivided Ones cannot be reasoned with, THE Formless Terrors seek only to undifferentiate others, and everything else that has survived here long enough to be called local has done so by becoming something that should not be trusted."
THE Creature on the illusory screen waved his hands in a dismissive manner, the multicolored flames trailing after his movements like loyal attendants.
"If you want my assistance, that is the extent of it."
His voice held no room for argument.
"Call out his name until he finds you as you move across THE Prima Indifferentia. Simply call for Jack."
...!
Jack?
THE Primordial Paradox tilted his head at this name, his obsidian crown spinning with confusion that he didn’t bother to hide. The designation seemed too casual, too mundane for something that could survive as a local in a place where Absolutes became Formless Terrors and THE Undivided Ones hunted anything with definition.
With his display of confusion evident, THE Creature on the illusory screen clarified.
"Jack. Jokul. He prefers to be alone and unbothered, but he owes me a favour."
The multicolored flames shifted with something that might have been fondness.
"Whoever you lost in there, Jack should be able to find them."
A pause.
"Unless you did something as reckless as bringing someone that was not Absolute into THE Prima Indifferentia."
The flames darkened slightly.
"If they are away from you for just a matter of seconds, they may already be undifferentiated."
The words felt like a heavy and somber warning, the kind that only someone who truly understood THE Prima Indifferentia’s dangers could give. THE Creature had spent more time here than any other member of THE Four, had explored regions that even THE Primordial Paradox had never ventured toward, and his caution was not given lightly.
THE Primordial Paradox smiled and shook his head.
"I do not think so. Not this one, anyway."
"But what will this cost me?"
Nothing between THE Four was ever truly free, and favours owed to THE Creature were not things to be accumulated carelessly.
THE Creature’s flames stilled on the illusory screen, becoming almost solid for a moment as he considered his price.
"You can tell me what is happening with you."
His voice lost its casual edge, becoming something more serious.
"Do I need to be worried?"
...!
Did he need to be worried?
The entity shrouded by multicolored flames of Existence, the being that THE Primordial Paradox had reached out to for help, THE Creature himself, was asking about the state of THE Primordial Paradox with concern!
And THE Primordial Paradox smiled with the expression of someone who had made peace with circumstances that others would have raged against.
"It is nothing major."
His voice held acceptance rather than defeat.
"I shall simply be going to sleep for a little while, as someone else would likely take my place."
He paused, considering his next words carefully.
"They will not be as entertaining as I am, but observe whether they are worthy or even capable of progressing toward the Second Scale. I am curious myself, after all of this."
...!
THE Primordial Paradox said such foreboding words with a casual air.
THE Creature in the illusory screen looked out silently without a reply.
His multicolored flames burned with intensity that made the proto-matter around THE Primordial Paradox tremble, responding to the emotional weight of what had just been shared.
An immense silence settled across the communication channel, neither of them speaking as the weight of the moment pressed against them both.
Eventually, THE Creature spoke.
"It seems that you have found yet another hardship to overcome."
His voice was measured and heavy.
"If the adversity is tremendous enough, it may just be sufficient fuel for you to take a step toward the second Scale. After all, The Vakochev Scales demand hardship..."
The multicolored flames flickered with something ancient.
"Very well. But be careful."
His voice grew deeper.
"One can plan and plan endlessly, but you never truly know what Existence has in store. None of us know."
HUUM!
"None of us will ever truly know."
The surrounding proto-matter trembled at the words of THE Creature with a sense of fear and reverence.
THE Primordial Paradox listened silently before he nodded with the weight of farewell hidden behind his composed features.
He waved his hands.
The illusory screen portraying THE Creature disappeared, the communication channel closing and leaving THE Primordial Paradox alone once more in the churning expanse of THE Prima Indifferentia.
He stood there for a moment, allowing himself a breath.
Then he straightened his obsidian form and looked around at the undefined expanse surrounding him.
He had a Tongue Whisperer to find.
And he had limited time before the infection within him progressed to stages that would make movement impossible.
THE Primordial Paradox began to walk through THE Prima Indifferentia, his voice calling out across the undefined space with authority that pressed against the proto-matter and forced it to carry his words further than they should have been able to travel.
"Jokul!"
The name echoed across churning storms and pillars of undefined potential.
"Jack!"
He called again, moving deeper into the expanse while searching for both a being he had never met and the one he had lost!
