Chapter 4878: Echoes! II
So his foundation was reaching tremendous levels!
His Fundamental Depth, which had been so hard to raise and which represented the truest measurement of his potential before grasping Absolute, had now reached the level of THE Creature and THE Primordial Paradox before they became what they became.
After his movements across THE Prima Indifferentia, after the passive absorption of proto-matter through his Infinities, after swallowing the Spark Fragment of THE First Cause, his foundation had been elevated enough to rival what the greatest Absolutes had forged before their ascension.
It was all grand.
It was all impressive beyond what he could have hoped for when he first entered THE Prima Indifferentia.
But still, Noah felt like something was missing.
The harvest and potential of the Spark Fragment of THE First Cause continued to fill his existence, but it felt like only a portion was actually going to his foundation. The vast majority seemed to be suffusing into every nook and cranny of something else entirely.
His Infinities.
His Mind.
His Civilization.
Parts of his existence that weren’t measured by foundation weight alone.
His existence began to buzz as he focused on himself truly and fully, setting aside the distraction of his growing weight to observe the subtler changes occurring within. As he barreled across weavings of definition and undefinition, carried by currents that had no destination, something else began to make itself known.
HUUM!
He felt like he began to hear...a voice.
A grand voice that felt like his own voice but filled with an unfathomable weaving of majesty that transcended anything he had ever produced. It was him speaking to himself across time, or perhaps it was something older than him using his voice as a vessel for communication.
Echoes of differentiation’s birth flooded through his existence, and a voice that was not a voice spoke words that were not words into his consciousness.
THE First Cause.
He felt like he... was touching that moment through the Spark Fragment.
He was experiencing echoes of what had occurred when differentiation began.
And with it, he felt like he could glimpse musings of things he knew and things he didn’t know, of future possibilities that may or may not happen, of paths that branched infinitely from the crossroads of his current existence.
To the point that as he spun across existence, carried by weavings that had no name, he heard it.
A booming voice that felt like it was his and not his.
"When the Youngest walks where the Oldest slumber, Existence shall tremble and the Weave shall fray. He who holds infinity in mortal palms shall stand at the crossroads where all rivers end.
The Paradox shall fall before the Paradox rises. The father consumed by the son, the son consumed by the purpose, the purpose consumed by the question that birthed all questions. Three collapses for the price of one, and in the third collapse, the door shall crack.
Beware the Unity that wears the face of peace. Beware the Legion that marches without banners. They shall come as whispers in the foundation, as cracks in the certainty, as the gentle erosion that unmakes mountains. Where they pass, definition dies. Where they gather, possibility ends.
The Shroud of Endless Blue shall fall upon Observable Existence. It shall be both salvation and damnation, both the key and the lock, both the bridge and the chasm. Under its weight, the doors of the Scales shall open or the doors of the Scales shall shatter. There is no third path. There is no middle ground. There is only the choice that is not a choice.
When Chaos speaks with the tongue of Order, when Existence questions its own being, when the Tongue falls silent and the Paradox emerges, then shall the Era of Undifferentiation begin. Absolutes shall be unleashed. The First shall become the Last. The Many shall become the One. The One shall become the None.
Yet in the None, a spark remains.
The adversity that breaks all others shall forge him. The hardship that ends all paths shall begin his. The Scales demand what the Scales demand, and he shall pay in currencies that have not yet been minted. He shall pay the price he deems.
Three times shall he face the mirror of undoing. Three times shall he choose between becoming and unbecoming. Three times shall the answer be the same, and three times shall the answer be different.
In the end, which is also the beginning, the Infinite shall stand before the Undefined. And one side shall remain to tell the tale that no one shall hear.
This is an Echo of First Cause.
This is what shall come to pass, for it has already passed, and it shall pass again.
The wheel turns. The river flows. The question echoes.
He shall be the answer, or he shall be nothing.
Or he shall be the question that ends all answers."
...!
BOOM!
Noah’s existence was dazed as he heard what was deemed an Echo of THE First Cause repeating itself in his mind, the words burning into his consciousness with weight that made his foundations tremble despite their newly elevated state.
There were some heavy words in the Echoes Noah had heard!
Even the first line was heavy as Noah thought about it, the words burning in his consciousness with weight that refused to fade even as the euphoria of consumption continued to flood through his existence.
"When the Youngest walks where the Oldest slumber, Existence shall tremble and the Weave shall fray. He who holds infinity in mortal palms shall stand at the crossroads where all rivers end."
This should be fully referring to him as THE Youngest. And the Oldest slumber, was that... referring to THE Prima Indifferentia itself where THE Undivided Ones existed in states of perpetual non-differentiation? Or was it referring to the spaces he was currently barreling across, these weavings between definition and undefinition that seemed to exist outside of normal reality? Or...Chaos, since Chaos was supposedly the oldest?
"..."
And the crossroads where all rivers end...
His eyes shone brightly as he thought about what all of this could mean, what future events the prophecy was pointing toward, what choices awaited him at destinations he couldn’t yet perceive.
But the next set of words were even heavier.
"The Paradox shall fall before the Paradox rises. The father consumed by the son, the son consumed by the purpose, the purpose consumed by the question that birthed all questions. Three collapses for the price of one, and in the third collapse, the door shall crack."
Now this one painted future possibilities of what would happen very soon in ways that made his foundations pulse with the weight of foreknowledge.
The first part should relate to THE Primordial Paradox and THE Living Paradox, with the ancient master being consumed by his disciple. The father consumed by the son was clear enough.
But the son consumed by the purpose?
And the purpose consumed by the question that birthed all questions...
"..."
Three collapses for the price of one.
In the third collapse, the door shall crack.
Noah thought about all the possibilities as the prophecy continued to echo in the depths of his consciousness, each line carrying weight that demanded analysis and interpretation. There was so much to unpack, so much to understand, and he was currently tumbling through spaces that had no reference points for time or distance!
