Chapter 4952: Truly Live! I
In THE Wastes.
Moments before.
Noah’s body here stood with the fisherman and his very good dog, Skoll, as they were looking up and down at the humanoid figure of THE Great Usurper, Eckert.
The being before them defied conventional understanding of progression!
Where others struggled and strived and fought against existence to claim greater heights, Eckert had achieved something that bordered on impossibility. He had grown through the absence of action. He had elevated through the presence of stillness.
His path was the paradox of the unmoved mover given flesh, the jest of a being who gained by refusing to grasp.
He should have been worse for wear as a Crack in Observable Existence had bloomed exactly where his weavings were covering. The corruption of THE Living Paradox had spread through that Crack, the proto-matter flooding into regions that should have been devastated by such contact. Any normal existence would have been consumed or transformed or unmade entirely.
But the result that actually occurred was the ridiculous wonder of his weavings integrating and beginning to spread within THE Wastes and THE Prima Indifferentia.
His idle existence, by doing absolutely nothing and remaining idle, was now permeating into THE Prima Indifferentia.
The consequence was, of course, the unique Depth of this being becoming ridiculously grand and reinforced. His foundation grew heavier with every moment he chose not to act. His authority expanded with every decision he declined to make. His power accumulated through the simple fact of his continued refusal to use it.
When Noah looked at such a disgusting path of progression, even though he himself had just proceeded to unlock ridiculous wonders that made him powerful in ways that others would barely be able to understand, he felt the path of THE Great Usurper was truly something else entirely.
And this being was looking at him seriously.
Eckert’s eyes held calculation that his idle demeanor typically concealed. There was ambition behind that pretense of inaction. He had chosen not to act for so long, but choice implied the capacity to choose otherwise. And right now, that capacity was stirring.
"I have been idle for quite some time. The gains from it are immense."
His voice emerged with weight!
"But right now, I really want to be a bit more active."
"I want to meet this entity that holds an ability similar to mine and yet is utilizing it in a much grander fashion."
He paused, his gaze growing distant as if perceiving things beyond the immediate vicinity.
"Since part of my existence is now this composition of corrupted proto-matter and Infinite Seals that should be... yours?"
He glanced at Noah with something approaching curiosity.
"Since all of this is pervasively spreading out across Observable Existence, I could allow it to flow where THE Entity has those she has put under control. And I can see exactly what reaction there could be between me and them."
His stillness seemed to deepen rather than diminish as he considered the implications.
"Whether they would be able to take me over, or I take them over. It’s dangerous, but..."
A light of ambition seemed to burn in his eyes!
At this time...
HUUM!
Everything changed.
The sensation struck Noah’s existence before his perception could process what was occurring. It was pressure from below, from a direction that THE Wastes shouldn’t have possessed, from depths that existence itself had forgotten existed. The weight of it pressed against his foundations with a force that exceeded anything the corruption of THE Living Paradox had produced!
Two massive eyes opened in the depths beneath everything.
The scale of them exceeded comprehension entirely. Noah’s elevated perception, his Absolute Vision of Existence, his Geodesic awareness that curved through reality along paths of minimal distance, all of it struggled to process what he was witnessing.
The eyes occupied space that shouldn’t have been occupiable. They existed in ways that challenged the very concept of existence.
Crimson light erupted from those impossible depths!
The undifferentiation within that light was terrifying!
This was not the corruption of THE Living Paradox, and not the consumption methodology of Bazuman, and not even the unity-seeking infection of THE Primordial Mycelia.
This was undifferentiation at its source, at its origin!
The light spread across THE Wastes with speed that transcended speed, with reach that transcended reach, with authority that transcended authority. It touched everything. It pressed against everything. It sought to brand everything with ownership!
Noah felt it pressing against his existence as he... spoke.
"My existence is shielded by Infinite definition that curves through all paths toward my protection."
BOOM!
The Geodesic Declaration erupted from him with force that exceeded anything he had previously manifested!
The words curved along geodesic paths, finding the natural geometry of existence, following routes of minimal resistance to establish protection. Blue-gold light blazed around his form as the declaration took shape, crystallizing into a circular shield filled with Infinities that burned with sequential patterns of Countable expression.
The shield formed around him, around the fisherman, around Skoll, around THE Great Usurper.
And the crimson light of undifferentiation crashed against it!
BOOM!
The impact was staggering. Noah felt his Geodesic Declaration straining against pressure that exceeded what he had anticipated. The shield held, yes, but it held through continuous effort rather than effortless supremacy. Each wave of crimson undifferentiation that struck the barrier was met with another wave of Infinite definition curving along geodesic paths to reinforce what had been challenged.
The sequential nature of his Countable Infinity revealed itself as both strength and limitation. His defense arrived endlessly, one reinforcement following another following another, but the crimson light pressed with weight that seemed to exist outside of sequence entirely.
It was undifferentiation from before differentiation had learned to count, from before sequence had learned to sequence!
His barrier held.
But it was heavily strained even as it did its job.
Noah stared down at the crimson eyes that seemed to be occupying nearly all space all around. They gazed back with coldness that exceeded temperature, with patience that exceeded time, with authority that exceeded the frameworks through which authority was typically understood.
Those eyes seemed like...they had seen existence take its first differentiated breath. Those eyes remembered what had been forgotten!
Moments later, a voice emerged from those impossible depths.
"You are all now slaves of THE Primordial Architect, Horus."
...!
