Chapter 4980: Legions of Absolutes I
The idea of mass producing Absolutes came to Noah’s mind simply when he saw what the Embodiment of THE Creature did to THE Living Origin and others.
If THE Creature could achieve such elevation with his finite resources, then what could Noah accomplish with infinite resources? THE Creature was more powerful, certainly, his existence predating THE Infinite Unfurling itself and his authority approaching THE Second Scale or already there.
But THE Creature could not mass produce Absolute Everythings. THE Creature could not cultivate Sacred Herbs that bestowed Bounded Countable Infinity upon consumers. THE Creature could not direct endless harvest toward an Organ of Civilization that transformed that harvest into crystallized authority compatible with loyal followers.
Noah could do all of these things.
Right now, he was doing everything he could while he continued to watch the army being born before him.
By his side, Skoll had calmed down from his earlier excitement, now watching in amazement as Absolutes rose one after another from the elevation process.
Noah rubbed the loyal companion’s head while calmly observing Protos calling forth other Absolute Primus Inevitabilities like a sergeant inspecting soldiers, the First Inevitability’s crimson blue-gold form moving through the ranks with purpose that spoke of pride in what had been prepared.
Noah was doing all this because he wanted to prepare for the worst possible eventualities.
When he asked himself what he could feasibly face in the name of Adversity, the answers that emerged were terrifying.
A Primordial Architect awakened from THE Prima Indifferentia at THE First Scale.
A Primordial Architect at THE Second Scale of Existence, something that conventional Absolutes could not even perceive let alone contest. THE Entity itself, that unified horror wearing THE Primordial Chaos as its newest mask.
And perhaps most concerning of all, the horrible variable of THE Entity somehow getting past his Infinities to infect him or his people, turning his own forces against everything he had built.
So how could he prepare for if or when such things occurred?
He had to have such insane things around him that they would make even old monsters like THE Primordial Paradox or THE Creature baffled at what they witnessed.
When he thought about THE Primordial Paradox, he knew that ancient being was battling against his disciple right now in THE Prima Indifferentia.
Part of him believed that Erwin might have more in the tank than anyone expected, because a peasant who had prepared this much, who was making changes across Observable Existence through corrupted proto-matter mixed with Infinite Seals.
But THE Primordial Paradox should still be okay since he carried Noah’s Infinities burning within his foundations, and the paradox of that being itself was truly heavy. Whatever happened, Noah did not expect THE Primordial Paradox to be collapsed easily.
And of course, the biggest thing wss Noah’s own power as if he went from Countable Infinity to Uncountable Infinity? Oh boy.
Oh boy!
"Master, I have formed specific Legions ready for you."
At this time, Protos rose and turned to face the armies assembled behind him.
His tentacles coiled with purpose as he gestured toward the thousands of Primus Inevitabilities awaiting their transformations, his crimson blue-gold light casting long shadows across THE Yggdrheim’s expanse. Noah watched with that devilish smile still playing across his features as Protos moved aside to reveal formations of Absolutes he had arranged according to their Specializations.
"Your Inevitabilities have long held Specializations that served you at lesser Depths. But now, with Bounded Countable Infinity and Absolute authority burning within our foundations, these Specializations have become something else entirely." Protos gestured toward the first formation of one hundred newly elevated Absolutes. "Permit me to introduce what your legions have become."
The first hundred Absolutes moved forward in perfect synchronization.
They were massive things, each one a titan of coiled tentacles standing dozens of times larger than humanoid scale. But where Protos appeared sleek and predatory, these Absolutes appeared fortified beyond reason. Their tentacles had woven themselves into layered configurations resembling living fortresses, each coil locked against the next in patterns that spoke of absolute defense. Crystalline plates of obsidian-gold covered their forms like armor grown from their very existence, and their eyes glowed with steady silver light holding no aggression, only unwavering certainty.
"The Absolute Infinite Bulwark Specialization," Protos announced. "One hundred Absolutes who have sacrificed all offensive capability in exchange for defense that curves along geodesic paths toward everything requiring protection. Each one can read defensive Embodiments or Apophasis and fill them with Geodesic Weavings like Mantras again and again to build ridiculous defenses amplified because they only ever defend.Their duty is grand. Their duty is infinite!"
Noah’s eyes sharpened with interest.
This was the other component he had been patiently waiting for.
With THE First Tongue, all things could Specialize from it. He had missed his Civilization Specializations that allowed him to raise armies which could not be taken down, and he had wanted to reproduce this capability at an even higher level than before.
Now he looked at what Protos had set aside just for a single Legion of Absolutes, and part of what comprised this legion were one hundred tanks operating at Absolute Depth with Bounded Countable Infinity.
"Their defensive authority now extends infinitely in Countable sequences, Master. When an attack approaches an ally, the Bulwark’s protection finds the shortest path through existence to intercept it. They do not need to be near what they defend. They simply need to be, and their defense travels along natural geometries to arrive where it is needed."
The hundred Bulwarks stood motionless, their crystalline plates shifting with subtle movements that stabilized the very fabric of THE Yggdrheim around them.
"They cannot deal damage through any means," Protos continued. "This limitation is absolute and cannot be circumvented. But in exchange, all damage directed toward them or those they protect is absorbed into foundations that regenerate infinitely with stacks of Defensive Embodiments and Apophasis, stacks of Sleeping Inscriptions and more. They cannot be overwhelmed through sustained assault because their endurance extends in sequences without termination. Strike them once, they endure. Strike them a trillion times, they endure still. Strike them forever, and forever they will remain standing."
Protos paused.
"Nothing of THE First Scale should be capable of bypassing them, theoretically. We still have to see how they would perform against those more powerful since we do not have enough information on what THE Second Scale truly represents."
