Chapter 5030: The Way of Choices II
"Our paradoxical fight will in the end be determined by what our Paradoxes are connected to. You connected yours to Infinity. I connected mine to something equally vast. The only difference is that my connection operates at a Scale yours cannot match."
The Primordial Paradox was forced to kneel as terrifying power pressed all around him!
Second Scale authority from the Singular Cognizance crushed his defenses with indifference, power simply beyond what First Scale conviction could resist. His paradoxical weavings continued shattering under pressure outmatching what his foundations could generate.
And yet his eyes remained just as bright as they had been at the battle’s beginning.
Against this overwhelming force, his beliefs never splintered. His conviction that Paradox should be sacred rather than weaponized, that contradiction should be honored rather than exploited, that some associations corrupted more than they empowered, none of these truths wavered despite the physical reality of his defeat.
He started to rise.
His Paradox burned brilliantly around his kneeling form as he pushed against Second Scale authority with First Scale conviction refusing to accept what logic declared inevitable. His obsidian-gold existence blazed with Bounded Countable Infinity as he forced himself upward through pressure that should have kept him pinned.
"You are right, my disciple."
Defiance filled his voice, and Prima Indifferentia itself trembled.
"In the end, it is all about the choices we make. You chose to ally with powers that corrupted your understanding of what Paradox means. I chose to ally with powers that enhanced my understanding without demanding I compromise my beliefs."
He continued rising despite everything pressing against him.
"And whatever happens today, I will tell you that your choices will be your downfall."
HUUM!
Erwin shook his head with something approaching genuine sorrow as both he and the Singular Cognizance behind him moved to finish things off. Their combined authority pressed against the Primordial Paradox, Second Scale power crushing First Scale conviction through simple existence.
"From the bottom of my heart, I respect and hold great love for you."
Sincerity filled Erwin’s voice, making his next words heavier.
"But for my Paradox, you must go."
...!
THE Primordial Paradox continued to try and rise defiantly, his obsidian-gold form pushing against authority that should have been absolute. His beliefs burned brighter than ever despite the physical impossibility of his resistance, his conviction declaring that some things mattered more than survival.
And at such a time, everything changed.
Erwin’s expression shifted greatly as something beyond this battlefield made itself known. He momentarily became ashen, his paradoxical authority flickering as awareness of something vast approached.
An instant later, it started to rain.
Rain!
A Cause expressed itself across Prima Indifferentia, immense beyond anything the Singular Cognizance had brought to this battlefield. Multicolored waters descended from skies that had never known precipitation before, the Pluvial Epoch of Existential Infinity permeating across this space where differentiation had never fully taken hold.
Vibrant multicolored rivers of Quintessence Infiniforce erased corrupted paradoxical proto-matter wherever they flowed. The corruption spreading through Prima Indifferentia dissolved upon contact with waters carrying the combined authority of the finite conductor and THE Creature merged through Miniature Cause.
Contradiction that had been weaponized returned to contradiction that simply existed, cleansed of the corruption twisting it toward destruction.
Many rivers recognized something within the Primordial Paradox.
They wrapped around his kneeling form, not crushing but transforming, Bounded Countable Infinity within his existence resonating with the rainfall’s authority.
The waters began causing significant change within his foundations, saturating his Paradox with density beyond anything normal cultivation could have provided.
The Singular Cognizance behind Erwin looked at the rivers with shining eyes holding something beyond simple observation. Its golden plates spun faster as it processed what this rainfall meant, what implications this Cause carried for everything it had been planning.
As everything became covered in a deluge of endless waters and rain, the Primordial Paradox allowed himself to be carried by these waves rather than fighting against them. His obsidian-gold form relaxed into the multicolored rivers as realization settled into his ancient awareness.
"From this day onward, my Paradox is Singular and Absolute and at the same time not."
His voice pressed against the drowning battlefield.
"Paradoxically, I still have my Claim fully, but also admit that I do not."
His eyes blazed with conviction that had never wavered throughout this entire confrontation.
"And is that not the greatest Paradox out there?"
BOOM!
With such a declaration, a unique cleaving occurred between Paradox itself. The very nature of contradiction acknowledged what he had spoken into existence, reality accepting his paradoxical statement as truth precisely because it was impossible for it to be true.
Gloriously, paradoxically, at this moment, the Claim of Paradox was paradoxically held and not held by two different beings simultaneously.
Erwin roared toward his master as the multicolored rivers carried the Primordial Paradox away from this battlefield, his paradoxical authority surging with fury at being denied the complete victory that had seemed inevitable moments before. He moved to pursue, to finish what they had started, to claim fully what he had only partially taken.
But the Singular Cognizance held him back.
Its authority wrapped around Erwin’s existence, preventing him from chasing the master already disappearing into the deluge. Those spinning golden plates observed the surging rivers all around with calculation beyond simple observation.
"There are much bigger things to worry about now."
The Singular Cognizance’s voice pressed against Prima Indifferentia itself.
"It seems the Infinity-bearer is much more exceptional than we anticipated. Let us go convene with the others."
...!
Erwin looked at where his master had left, frustration pressing against his paradoxical foundations. He had been so close. Victory had been within his grasp. And now his master had escaped.
He nodded with acceptance that did not diminish his frustration.
Paradox began to shine around his existence as he prepared to depart this battlefield the Pluvial Epoch was rapidly claiming. His authority wrapped around the Singular Cognizance as well, contradiction carrying both of them toward destinations where others of their association waited.
Both of them disappeared from Prima Indifferentia.
The multicolored rivers continued falling, cleansing everything they touched, transforming Prima Indifferentia into something it had never been before the Pluvial Epoch began.
