Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 5055: Awakening! I

Chapter 5055: Awakening! I

THE Secretive Eon appeared in a domain that existed between Observable and Unobservable.

The space measured only a mile wide in diameter, a pocket of stability carved into the boundary separating what could be perceived from what could not. Beyond its edges, swirling weavings of Unobservable wrapped around the domain in configurations that would have driven lesser beings mad merely from proximity. The darkness there moved with purpose, pressing against the domain’s boundaries without quite breaching them.

Within this small sanctuary, vibrant green grasses covered the ground in carpets that should not have been possible given the forces surrounding them. A simple white hut stood at the center, its construction humble and unremarkable, the kind of dwelling that suggested meditation rather than habitation. This place had been hidden for eons, known only to one existence in all of Observable Existence.

Until now.

Behind Eon, a sliver of a gateway remained open where she had entered. From it, THE Primordial Paradox stepped through, his obsidian titanic form immediately scanning the surroundings with attention that missed nothing. His paradoxical authority rippled around him as he observed the grasses, the hut, the swirling Unobservable beyond the boundaries.

"This place I have not been to."

His voice emerged with the weight of someone realizing they had been deceived.

"Just what more are you hiding?"

...!

THE Secretive Eon did not respond immediately.

She sat down upon the vibrant grasses with calm that seemed inappropriate. Her expression held resignation rather than fear, acceptance rather than anxiety. Whatever she was about to do, she had made peace with it long before this moment arrived.

Then she plunged her hand into her own chest.

Her fingers passed through flesh that parted without resistance, reaching into depths where her foundations resided. When she withdrew her hand, she held a key that blazed with golden light so pure it seemed to reject the surrounding Unobservable entirely. The key was ornate and ancient, its design suggesting purposes that predated most classifications Observable Existence currently employed.

Eon parted the hair behind her neck, exposing skin that had not seen light in eons.

Without looking at THE Primordial Paradox, she extended the key toward him.

"I wish I had never told you about me."

Her voice emerged flat and tired.

"I wanted to never return to that state. Even when I was being controlled by Unity, I did not reach out to it. I wanted to overcome it myself."

She paused.

"But I failed. Osmont scorched Unity out of me, and in turn, he has also loosened the seal. Since it will break regardless, I will consider this eons-long experiment to have been a failure. I thought I could make things happen without it, but whatever."

She thrust the key toward him more insistently.

"Take the key. I made it so that I could not fully unlock it myself."

...!

THE Primordial Paradox grasped the key with confusion visible across his obsidian features.

"What are you talking about? I reached out to you because of your Civilization. With it, my Paradox can undergo acceleration even-"

"I lied to you about my Civilization."

Her interruption was sharp and final.

"Just put the key on the back of my neck. Everything will become clearer after."

...!

THE Secretive Eon wore a hardened expression as she spoke these words.

A key. Something even THE Primordial Mycelia had never sensed during its occupation of her existence, something far above that fungal horror’s stature to perceive. Naturally, a key meant something was locked. And right now, that something was Eon herself.

Turning the key would unlock her.

Doing so was an admission that she had failed, that her experiment in living as something lesser had concluded in defeat. What could she do? Existence was unfair. It had always been unfair. She had simply spent eons pretending otherwise.

Behind her, THE Primordial Paradox continued to frown as he brought the key toward her exposed neck.

"I may speak to you differently and change afterward."

Her voice held hesitation for the first time.

"Do not mind it. I will still be me. Just somewhat different."

...!

THE Primordial Paradox frowned even more deeply at her words. He shook his head at the strangeness of this situation, at the mysteries piling upon mysteries, at the sense that he was about to participate in something he did not understand.

Then he plunged the key into her neck.

The golden metal entered her flesh with blinding light that pressed against his perception. The key sank deeper than should have been possible, finding a lock that existed somewhere beyond physical form.

CLICK!

He turned the key.

And...

BOOM!

THE Primordial Paradox found his body flung across the domain before he could process what had occurred. He smashed against the boundaries where Observable met Unobservable, the collision sending shockwaves through his obsidian form. When he managed to orient himself and look back toward where Eon had been sitting...

He observed something magisterial!

All around the domain, golden misty light gathered with speed and density that defied comprehension.

The force of Observable itself was flooding into this small space, drawn by something that demanded its presence. Rivers of golden luminosity poured toward the figure of Eon from every direction, converging upon her form with intensity that painted the entire domain in hues of captured sunlight.

Her aura became something else entirely.

THE Primordial Paradox attempted to rise from where he had landed, pushing against the ground with strength that had conquered countless enemies across eons of conflict.

His body refused to comply. Something pressed down upon him with force that would not permit him to stand, as if all of surrounding existence had to remain low for what was waking up.

He could only watch from his position near the ground.

Golden rivers of Observable force continued flowing into Eon as she rose from the grasses without apparent effort. The power lifted her upward, rivers of golden light forming beneath her feet to create platforms of solidified authority. Her dark hair shone with brilliance that seemed to generate its own illumination rather than reflecting what surrounded her. Her eyes, when she opened them, radiated endless gold that pressed against THE Primordial Paradox’s perception with intensity.

The force she radiated horrified him.

It seemed to exceed the Singular Cognizance he had faced when fighting alongside Erwin. It surpassed what he had believed possible for any being at THE First Scale. It defied everything he understood about the hierarchy of power!

"What... is this?"

He had to ask the question even though speaking required effort against the pressure pinning him down.

Eon turned to look at him.

Her body had transformed. An unfathomable sense of beauty now permeated her existence, the kind that made observation feel like privilege rather than simple perception.

Radiant golden tattoos rolled from her neck down to her chest. Upon her wrists, golden bands shining with contained authority had formed, their presence suggesting royalty rather than ornamentation.

Her expression had changed as well.

Where before there had been coldness and calm, now there was coldness born of supremacy. Where before there had been calculation, now there was the calm of one who did not need to calculate because outcomes were predetermined in her favor.

Arrogance radiated from her bearing!

She replied to THE Primordial Paradox with a voice that sounded glorious and detached, as if she were addressing someone beneath her rather than an equal.

"What this is, is my whims coming to an end."

The golden rivers continued flowing into her as she spoke.

"I admit I do not have the power to do anything without what I was born with. You...will be rewarded for aiding me in my transition."
