Chapter 2683: From Hell to Heaven

Chapter 2683: From Hell to Heaven

“Really?” Zu An was exhilarated. He had never expected Yan Xuehen to be so proactive.

Yan Xuehen’s heart was beating quickly. She also hadn’t expected herself to utter such bold words. She sensed something was amiss, but somehow, she didn’t think her words were excessively overboard even though they stepped on the line.

And I’d let Chuyan down if Yun Jianyue gets to him.

From a personal standpoint, she also didn’t want there to be anything between Zu An and Yun Jianyue, or else just the thought of it could anger her to death.

“Of course.” Her voice was barely audible, but it couldn’t escape Zu An’s ears.

He burst into laughter as he pulled her into his arms. His cold lover felt a lot warmer than usual.

Yan Xuehen felt dazed. She normally wasn't averse to being intimate with Zu An, but something just felt off today.

Zu An leaned in and kissed her. She moaned and reciprocated the kiss. He thought that he had finally melted the ice beauty’s heart. She’s so much more proactive than usual.

Yan Xuehen felt bliss surging into her heart. I was deceiving myself all this while by putting distance between us. This passionate kiss felt like the most intoxicating wine in the world. She felt as if she was going to melt from the heat.

And this intoxication effect was as much physical as it was psychological. The realization of that made her embarrassed. What's come over me? Forget it. It's already happened anyway. There’s no reason for me to continue pushing him away. Till Chuyan returns, I’ll help her fulfill her duties as his wife...

The thought of Chuyan jolted her heart. She suddenly felt a wave of intense shame.

She had practiced the Unshakable Daoist Manual, after all. Clarity returned to her head, and she belatedly realized how intertwined their bodies were. Taken aback, she exclaimed, “Ah Zu, are you sure... you didn’t use that golden phoenix ki on me?”

“Of course not.” Zu An was stunned. He thought she was just embarrassed. “Calm down, big sister Yan. It’s a normal reaction in the heat of passion. I like you, and you like me too. That’s all that matters.”

Yan Xuehen was confused. He has no reason to deceive me. He might be lustful, but I trust his character. He won’t use such despicable means to take advantage of me. Could this be my true will...

It’s all Ah Zu’s fault! He messed around too much after we returned from the Netherworld. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be feeling this way with just a mere touch.

The thought of what happened in the Netherworld made her heart beat even faster. Her usually cold eyes overflowed with tenderness and shyness.

The two of them naturally fell on the bed together. Out of embarrassment, Yan Xuehen put down the blinds as Zu An pushed her down.

...

A while later, Yun Yuqing’s anxious voice echoed, “Bad news, Ah Zu! Something happened to big sister Yun!”

Qiu Honglei’s anxious voice followed. “Master is at her limit!”

They barged into the room without waiting for a response. The door was locked, but a normal lock couldn’t hope to stop the two of them.

Pei Mianman looked upon the situation worriedly. She knew about Zu An and Yan Xuehen’s relationship. Things would get troublesome if the two of them were doing something intimate in the room. But Yun Jianyue’s injuries had suddenly worsened. She couldn’t find a way to help her, so she had no reason to stop these two women from seeking Zu An’s help.

Yan Xuehen exclaimed in horror. She anxiously sat up and grabbed a blanket to cover her body, but her smooth shoulders and exquisite collarbones remained exposed. On top of that, her fair skin was dyed red. Anyone witnessing this scene would know what had happened right away.

Looking at the three women who had barged into the room, her face turned pale. It’s over!

It was one thing for her reputation to crumble, but the White Jade Sect’s honor would be sullied, and Chuyan would become a laughingstock too. On top of that, Yun Jianyue would mock her to no end. The thought of that filled her heart with despair. She instinctively grabbed her Flying Snow Sword to slit her throat. She could think of no solution other than ending her life and cleansing her shame with her blood.

But Zu An moved faster than her. He grabbed her sword and exclaimed, “Big sister Yan, what are you doing?”

Yan Xuehen’s eyes were cloaked in despair. “Ah Zu, let me die.”

Zu An quivered upon seeing her current state. I considered coming clean with them, but now, I’m glad I didn’t do so. “Don’t worry, big sister Yan. They didn’t see anything.”

“How could they have not seen anything? They...” Yan Xuehen pointed at the three women who had just barged into the room, only to raise her eyebrows in astonishment.

None of the three women were moving. Their postures were fixed at the moment they barged into the room—their legs and hands hung in mid air, and their expressions were frozen in place. They looked like three statues. But Yan Xuehen could tell they were living beings. Not even the greatest sculptor in the world could create a masterpiece as lifelike as this.

Zu An explained, “I paused their time. They haven’t realized what’s going on in here.”

“Really?” Yan Xuehen was overjoyed. It felt as if she had been lifted from hell into heaven.

“Of course.” Zu An smiled. “With my recent breakthrough and my grasp of the World Law Beacon, I am god in this world. I can do things beyond your wildest imagination. Pausing their time is nothing in comparison.”

Yan Xuehen blinked as spirit returned into her eyes. “Are there no restrictions?”

“Of course there are. I could easily pause their time because they're standing next to one another, so the implications on the world’s cause and effect are limited. But if I expanded the scale to the academy and the capital, the implications would be so great that they could plunge this world into chaos or even unravel it,” Zu An explained.

Yan Xuehen looked at Zu An with envious eyes. “I can’t imagine how anyone can defeat you in your current state. Even universal deities must only amount to this much, no?”

Any cultivator would dream of attaining the abilities Zu An wielded.

Zu An shook his head. “My abilities are only limited to this world. I won’t be able to use them outside of this world. In comparison, the universal deities can exert their unparalleled powers across the myriad worlds.”

Yan Xuehen was startled. She wanted to further discuss this topic, but the cold wind blowing against her skin was a reminder of her current plight. She felt so embarrassed that she quickly put on her clothes.

Zu An frowned. “You don’t need to be in such a rush. Time flows differently for us right now. We can... stay like that for a little longer, and it would only be an instant for them.”

Yan Xuehen spat. “No way!”

Even if the three women couldn’t see it, it was still as good as a public execution for her to get steamy with him in front of them.

“Why did you all suddenly go quiet? Did you see something?” Yun Jianyue’s voice suddenly came from outside.
