Chapter 3267: Executing Yang Axe Array

Chapter 3267: Executing Yang Axe Array

While Cattaleya fought fiercely, Elyon, on the other hand, was the complete opposite... calm, focused, and moving like a shadow. He supported the weaker experts scattered across the battlefield.

In such a dark environment, he was in his element.

Everywhere the shadows stretched, Elyon’s senses could reach. He could travel through darkness as though teleporting, appearing beside cultivators who were on the verge of being overwhelmed.

His strikes came from unexpected angles, and his support was as swift as it was lethal.

His mastery of the Darkness Dao far surpassed that of the Shades and Hollows, allowing him to bypass their natural resistance. As if a great sea swallowing a fierce river. His shadow claws sliced through them effortlessly, each motion elegant yet deadly.

He moved like a phantom, indistinguishable from the Shades themselves, turning their own element against them.

It was largely because of Elyon’s presence that the number of casualties remained limited. Without him, the death toll would have easily reached into the thousands.

Meanwhile, Daoist Chu was hard at work on a very different front. Though he was not fighting directly, his role was no less vital. Surrounded by the most skilled formation masters on the continent, he was orchestrating the creation of a massive battlefield array.

They were being protected by the monks and disciples of the Xian Sword Sect, who fought tooth and nail to keep enemies away while the formation work continued.

"Set up double reinforcement formation flags and replace them every minute until the final array is complete!" Daoist Chu commanded, his voice echoing across the din of battle.

His hands never stopped moving; throwing out talismans, formation flags, and formation stones in precise succession.

He multitasked almost like Lin Mu himself, his Immortal Sense spread wide to monitor the array’s progress in all directions. The other formation masters only needed to follow his directions, trusting in his mastery completely.

An hour passed since the battle began, and at last, the array was nearly ready. The air around them began to hum as the final formation stones locked into place.

HUMMMM!

Once the last formation flag was planted, Daoist Chu took a deep breath.

"It’s done, Daoist Chu!" the formation masters called out one after another.

"Then it’s time..." Daoist Chu murmured, lifting his sleeve.

From within, a white serpent slithered out gracefully.

HISS!

Xiao Yang raised his head, his black eyes glimmering with fierce intelligence as he gazed across the chaotic battlefield. Around him, a pure white mist swirled, his body glowing with intense Yang energy.

Even Daoist Chu felt his heart tremble under the serpent’s presence.

’No matter how many times I see these serpents, they never fail to astonish me,’ Daoist Chu thought, before speaking aloud. "You know what to do."

"Hissss," Xiao Yang responded, nodding once before gliding forward.

SHUA!

With a flicker of light, a massive axe appeared, its blade crystalline and gleaming with radiance.

This was none other than the Flash Cleave Axe, a Peak Grade Immortal Weapon that Xiao Yang had obtained from the Serene Glass Valley. A weapon of pure light, its power was magnified even further when combined with Xiao Yang’s own Pure Yang Element.

But today, its purpose was not to strike down an enemy, it was to empower the array.

CLANG!

Xiao Yang slammed the Flash Cleave Axe into the heart of the formation, embedding it into the core, a complex structure made from nearly fifty formation stones.

"Do it!" Daoist Chu commanded.

HISSSSSSS!

Xiao Yang unleashed a thunderous hiss, exhaling an enormous amount of Yang Immortal Qi.

The energy surged into the Flash Cleave Axe, which greedily absorbed it before linking with the formation around it.

"All formation masters, begin the process!" Daoist Chu barked, seating himself cross-legged near the Axe.

Two other masters joined him, forming a triangle around the core.

Under their combined control and fueled by Xiao Yang’s energy, the array began to transform.

HUMM... HUMM... HUMM...

Over a million lights flared across the battlefield, coalescing into the shapes of countless axes. Each one shimmered like a mirror of the original Flash Cleave Axe, glowing with divine light.

HONG LONG!

The phantom axes lit up the dark battlefield like a thousand miniature suns before they began to move.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

They spun through the air, slicing through Shades and Hollows alike, turning into spectral executioners of radiant judgment.

REEEEEEEE!

SCREEEEECHHHHH!

The monsters shrieked in agony as the illusory light axes cut through them with unstoppable momentum.

"What... what is this?" cried several Xian Sword Sect disciples, eyes wide with awe.

They had known the formation masters were constructing something powerful, but none had expected this. Even cultivators with knowledge of formations could not identify the array as if it was something entirely new.

And that was because it was.

This was a formation that Daoist Chu had designed himself. Knowing that they were fighting the Ephemera Sect and its monstrous creations, he understood that the key to victory lay in pure Yang energy, the natural nemesis of corruption and darkness.

And there was no source purer than Xiao Yang.

Yet, Xiao Yang alone could not cover the entire battlefield. Thus, the brand new Array had been created, a formation that amplified his strength and multiplied his presence a thousandfold.

With the Flash Cleave Axe serving as the array’s core and Xiao Yang supplying the energy, the might of the formation transcended its original limits.

It evolved beyond the simple Flurry Yang Ambush Array, ascending into something far greater—

The Executing Yang Axe Array!

The array showed its might, cutting down swathes of Shades and Hollows, easing the pressure on the army. Before they were at the very edge. Even a single sneak attack could push them into the abyss of death, but now they were finally getting some breathing room.

"Everyone! Push them back!" With advantage on their side, the army finally began to gain the upper hand, the equilibrium of the battlefield tilting in their favor.

Now it was up to the Transcendents to bring them the victory.
